Overview

The sea is indisputably the best place from which to observe Cabo Girao, some of the world's tallest sea cliffs. Bag yourself the best views on this whale-watching cruise from Funchal, perfect for nature lovers. On a catamaran, find a seat on the deck and enjoy the scenery while scanning the horizon for dolphins and whales. Plus, a range of departure times allows this tour to slot seamlessly into your itinerary.

What to Expect

Make your way to the Funchal marina to catch your departing catamaran. Climb on board and meet your captain and crew, who take care of all of the navigation while you enjoy the scenery and search for marine life.

Explore the spacious boat, with seating inside the cabin or on the sun deck. As you pull out of the marina, begin your search for local dolphins and whales, with the guidance and information provided by your crew. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions and learn about the dolphins' and whales' biology and behavior.

Head for Cabo Girão, one of the world's tallest seaside cliffs, standing 1,902 feet (580 meters) high. The boat moors in the cliff's shadow, and you can choose to stay on deck and take in the scenery or jump in and explore underwater. You can travel light on this tour, knowing that snorkel equipment is provided. Snorkelers, beginners and experts, will feel comfortable with the instruction and guidance of the crew.

Cruise back to Funchal along the coastline, allowing for excellent views and photo ops.

Bad experience!

This is not dolphin and whale watching! We paid 60 euros, 30 euros each, to take us around with the catamaran for 3 hours! The crew listened the whole trip Guns n Roses music and smoked one cigarette after the other! Not really looking for...More

Fine Trip

Seated on the front of a catamaran, we motored out and saw pilot whales as well as dolphins. The crew also spent some time to explain details behind these creatures, as well as give us a potted description of the coastline and places of interest....More

Dear Guest, Thank you for the feed back. Unfortunately people are not so careful about the others and the environment these days. But I am glad you still enjoyed the trip. Best regards Umut

Great experience

We had 4 full days in Madeira. One day sightseeing in Funchal, one day for a Levada walk, one day for a tour of the island and we thought that a sailing trip would complement our time in Madeira. This company offered a 3 hour...More

Fantastic service and experience.

Crew made 11 year old and 60+ dude feel completely at home. Perseverance in search of whales was well worth the late return. Would recommend

Recommendation from me

Very nice little cruise around Funchal. We saw a lot of dolphins! It was also nice that we could reserve our spot from the ship few days early.
