Attention !! Customer service 0/10. We had made a reservation for a tour in small and electric boats (according to their advertising). Boats that can go in narrower channels. Meet near Anne Franck's house at 5 p.m. At 5 p.m., no KIN boats!! At 5:20 p.m., I decide to call. They had forgotten, it was too hot to go out. They arrive at around 5:40 p.m. with a large boat and make us wait another 20 minutes to find other people who want to join the canal tour. We leave around 6:10 p.m. for a tour of about 1 hour with minimum tour guide service.

I had an incredible experience with Stephen as my tour guide in Amsterdam. His extensive knowledge of the city's history and architecture was truly impressive. He made the tour engaging and interactive, ensuring that everyone in the group was having a great time. Stephen's enthusiasm and passion for Amsterdam shone through, making the entire tour both educational and enjoyable. His friendly demeanor and willingness to answer questions made the experience even better. I highly recommend Stephen as a tour guide for anyone visiting the beautiful canals of Amsterdam. Martin was our Captain for the trip and he was brilliant! He was very attentive to all the passengers and made sure he was addressing everyone .
He was very humorous and well informed. Considering he has to give the same dialogue many times in a day, you would never realise it. The sights of the city are best served from the canal and I can highly recommend this particular trip if you are time limited. The one hour trip gives a great historical overview of the amazing buildings and canals.

I want to break this tour into the things I liked and the things I didn’t.
The good things: We were able to see a ton of different canals and places in the city and the guide was really kind and cheerful. They gave us umbrellas to fight the sun and the seats were comfortable.
The bad things: For a 20 euro per person tour, I don’t think drinks should be extra. At least make the water free! Also, the guide only answered questions and didn’t try to engage with the people that didn’t ask anything which made the experience underwhelming as she talked directly to the ones who asked and not us as a group.
In general it was a great tour. Just bring your own water bottles, sunscreen and be prepared to ask questions about anything you see. Don’t go between 3-6 pm during summer because the sun is really bad.

We were looking to go on a different canal tour when the staff at this one caught our attention. We liked how they joked with us and we all had some laughs- we also like the open top boat- gives great views and the open air was nice! Had a Heineken while on the boat, too (of course, when in Amsterdam ..). Our skipper was Jippe, ( I hope I spelled it correctly, he told us how to spell it and I immediately forgot, sorry!) he was a great tour guide! Gave great information, fun facts, and answered all questions- and our boat had A LOT of questions. Highly recommend this boat tour, it is so great, especially for the price you really can't beat it.

Pleasant hour spent on the canal boat. Various landmarks pointed out by the guide (who was also having to concentrate driving the boat) but unfortunately unless you were very near to him you couldn’t hear a word he was saying. He could have done with some sort of microphone as the majority of people couldn’t hear. Also because he had to concentrate on driving the boat and going on his radio whilst going round blind corners the commentary was very stop/start. It would have been more beneficial having a driver and a guide. We did see a few landmarks and it was very interesting looking at all of the different houses. We saw the hook mechanisms on the top of every building that is used to hoist furniture and goods up to the top floors and through windows as the staircases are too narrow! He also pointed out that a lot of the houses had emblems/pictures on them to depict who lived there. For example one local house had a stork on it (a midwife!)
It was nice to be able to sit down away from the crowds (and the bikes!!) and enjoy the peaceful canal boat cruise and see Amsterdam from a different perspective.

Ward was amazing, very knowledgeable and also so funny, he makes it so personable. It was such a great experience overall to learn more about Amsterdam history, some historical buildings, the way they build this entire city on water even though it’s below sea level. On top of that the canal itself is so serene and it was just a pleasant ride overall. I would say it’s a must do in Amsterdam! We paid 19.50 euro for an open boat ride, 60 minute long, but there are other options to choose from. I believe the drink is free on board as well, I just didn’t take any.

It was a really nice tour, the guide called Lisa was telling interesting things about all kind of stuff. She was also really confident this resulted in that everyone was hooked when she was telling a new thing about Amsterdam.

Martin the guide was very informative, friendly and humorous . His commentary was really interesting pointing out and describing things so well. At €15 and just €2.5 per drink (beer, wine or soft drinks) it represented excellent value for money. Was well worth just walking 20m from the more commercial large boats directly outside the Anne Frank museum.
