Bus was prompt. Best seats filled by people who boarded in Zurich. So understand you probably won't get a seat up top. Beautiful scenery with good descriptions. We were fortunate to have a sunny day. Tram and cogwheel train were great. On the train down sit in the low seat section, left side for the best photos. A few young people (30/40 yr olds) in our group felt the effects of the altitude. Drink lots of water prior to the trip, it helps, also breathe deeply and pace yourself. Ice cave was interesting, loved the piano. Long day but worth doing.

Well organised and well done tour with great guides. We had more than enough time to see and do what we wanted and this made the tour very pleasant. Our guide, Eduardo, was fantastic. Friendly, polite, knowledgeable and made the tour a lot of fun.

This was a great excursion. Pedro is very knowledgeable, but he's low-key and relaxed. His assistant, Monica, is awesome. We are an older couple who needed some extra assistance and a watchful eye, which Monica graciously provided. We enjoyed the entire trip, but we had significant altitude sickness at the facility at the top of the Alps, so we weren't able to fully appreciate it. I wonder if altitude sickness is more prevalent at older ages? If so, there should be a warning about it here.

Wont be forgetting this tour for a while.
Travel time was pretty good.
Tour guide was informative and friendly.
The stop in Interlaken was (I felt) a bit pointless as there was not much to do... especially if you were not interested in shopping for watches or chocolate! However the scenery was beautiful. I underatand that wr had to drop people off that were doing different activities.... the hour spent there was unnecessary.
The Alps were beautiful. The time spent there was just right. There were plenty of little sights and bits to see, so many amazing photo opportunities and a few different food choices.

The pros: great views as we had a wonderfully clear day; 5 stars for this part of the tour.

The cons: although we paid more than $500 for the english tour, we were put on a massive 2-decker bus that was mostly the Chinese tour. In addition, we were picked up in Lucerne, but the Chinese group started in Zurich. Therefore, all good seats were already taken. My wife and I were able to grab the last 2 seats available up top in the back.

The trip requires 2 train changes, and we were again left toward the back away from the tour guide. As a result, we missed important information that was communicated to everyone else. This also happened to 6 of the Chinese tour participants who were stuck with us, and they remarked that it was not well organized and that they also missed the info.

The massive amount of participants was handled by 2 tour guides who did the best they could. However, in our experience of taking tours, there likely should have been another 2 guides.

The bottom line: great sites, but terribly disorganized. I wish we would have gone with a private tour for the money we spent. If we had spent $150-$200 in total, then the tour would be 4-5 stars. At $500+ total, the tour is at best a 3-star tour and perhaps lower.

Dear Gerald C, It has been our pleasure to welcome you on our tour to Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe from Lucerne on the very last day of 2019. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the stunning views despite the various aspects mentioned. As Jungfraujoch is one of the most popular attractions in Switzerland, we conduct our daily tours bilingually in English and Spanish or Mandarin, which is highly appreciated by many of our non-English speaking guests. Our tours bring together a wide variety of nationalities and cultures, with Chinese guests accounting for a much smaller share than English-speaking guests. As all information is shared in both languages equally, it has hardly ever led to negative feedback until today. The merging of groups allows us to offer our tours not only from Zurich, but also from smaller destinations with lower guest numbers such as Lucerne and Interlaken. As we allocate our seats on a "first come, first served" basis instead of fixed allocations, your desired seat may no longer be available when boarding the bus. We are sorry to hear that you have missed the information shared on the train ride up to Jungfraujoch and will certainly follow up your feedback with your tour guide directly. While it is not possible to share information over the speakers during the train ride, our experienced tour guides are instructed to go through the wagons and to answer individual questions from our guests. To enjoy a more personalized service, we recommend booking one of our small-group tours with a maximum of 16 passengers or even a private service. We regret to hear that you felt that the tour was not worth the money and hope that we can convince you of the opposite on one of our private or regular tours on your next visit to Switzerland. Best regards, Best of Switzerland Tours

On the way to the main attraction jungfrau, we were told it was closed due to hurricane winds. The tour company immediately changed the itinerary to a lower mountain which was experiencing great weather. We saw jungfrau in the clouds, which means even it was open we would not have seen anything. Thus the day turned out great. In addition before we even returned to Lucerne the company had refunded half the tour price (without us even requesting it). Awesome customer service.

We were very hesitant about booking this one since it's quite an expensive tour but now, we have no regrets. From Lucerne, it was an air conditioned, comfortable bus that took us to Grindelwald. We stopped for a few minutes in Interlaken. The guide will tell you that you can shop there but it is quite expensive (even the chocolates). But the place is picturesque so don't waste your time indoors. Go for a walk and click lots of pictures with those alps! From Grindelwald it's two trains up to the summit itself and the views during the drive and the train ride up are just amazing. Jungfraujoch is breathtaking.

Altitude sickness is a real thing. My father who's over 50 and not exactly fit was quite dizzy up there. I was lightheaded as well but still able to function decently 😅. Yes there will be people everywhere so advise caution and patience. Beware of your footing or wear good shoes that will hold on ice since the place is slippery. The ice palace is also amazing and pretty but so very slippery. I didn't know that the cold hurts so i was unprepared whenever my hands were out of the gloves for pictures. My first experience in weather that cold and it was brilliant although a little painful 😅. Be prepared with winter gear and if you're from a tropical country, don't underestimate the cold!

Don't forget to check the weather before you go. We were lucky to have a sunny day but from what i gather, blizzards make it difficult to see the views since visibility is limited.

Lastly, but most importantly, our guide Rebecca was awesome. She was pleasant and friendly and made sure we're all together through the whole trip, took us to the summit and back in one piece! This might have been quite difficult to plan on our own so the guided trip was well worth it and we have stunning pictures to last.
