So much to see here!
Galileo and Michaelangelo are buried here and the basilica is amazing as well as the grounds and the tombs. There is a lot of art in this place I’m glad we went.

Amazing, sacred place!
Jul 2019
I loved being in this beautiful Basilica where the genius sculptor, Michelangelo, rests in his sarcophagus. I had just visited Casa Buonarrotti, his family's former home, a couple of blocks away, before visiting Basilica Santa Croce. What an amazing experience. I shall never forget any of it, and will return if I make it back to Italy again.

Best basilica visit in Florence
Sep 2019 • Couples
This basilica is beautiful and has wonderful art and interesting history. What made this visit amazing for us was that a very kind gentleman met us after the ticket stand and asked if we wanted a free guided tour. We said yes and he gave us at least an hour tour that was fantastic. We feel awful that we did not get his name. He would not except any money and gave us a tremendous lesson in art history and the history of the famous people that are recognized in this basilica.

Clearly worth advance booking on line as it took a ridiculous amount of time to process a relatively short line. Being fair we went through quickly and easily when we finally paid so maybe some customers slowed things down.

Do not buy the ticket here on TripAdvisor. It was not recognized at the Castle and I had to buy a ticket on site.
