      Wonderful Experience
What can I say? We had so much fun. Gloria, Arla and Tiziano were absolute rock stars. Incredibly helpful with setting us up with making this at home. Food was so good but the memories that we created on that day will last a lifetime.

      Highly recommend
This was a hands on pizza and gelato class and it was excellent! Easy to follow, a lot of great tips and a bonus comedy duo with Arla and Tiziano. The pizza and gelato were both delicious.

      A taste of Cinque Terre
We had the best day visiting Cinque Terre with our guides Valentina, Genie & Manuel. Very punctual start to day & lots of information on the bus ride to La Spezia. We did have train issues, but not their fault - blame Italian train system! We were split into 3 groups for the day & were given opportunity to just “do own thing” & meet up later or stay with groups. We did the latter. Lunch offered was 17.50euro & was delicious (or do you town thing - no pressure). The stairs up from train to Corniglia were many (300+). After lunch you could go by train or hike to next town. 3.2 km of pretty rough terrain & a lot of uphill with uneven steps. Not for the unfit!! We’re in our late 60’s - fit as we do hike a lot - but it was hot & not easy. Very satisfying to get to the end. Sadly, not a lot of time at each town but enough to get a taste of this pretty place. We went back to start on a boat! Then train back to La Spezia where the bus was waiting to take us back to Florence. Would recommend this tour.

Great time with lots of laughs
This was so much fun! It was in a beautiful setting just 15 minutes outside of the city. Gloria, Arla, and Tiziano were amazing! Funny and easy going. They made it all seem so easy. We really enjoyed the whole evening. I cannot recommend this enough. I promise you will love it

The Best Day Cooking with Lavinia & Carmela
Our day was one of the best experiences we had while in Florence. Lavinia (our guide and chef) and Carmela (our chef) had a wonderful chemistry working together. We shopped for our meat and veggies, then traveled to Carmela's house to prepare our feast. We made Bruschetta, homemade pasta with Bolognese sauce, pork tenderloin with sage and rosemary, roasted potatoes and Tiramisu. Carmela sang and danced throughout the day while we prepared our meal. We dined and enjoyed some wine overlooking the Tuscan country side. It was the perfect day!

      Get on this tour!
This trip was a great full day of sight seeing, wine & food tasting for our family and friends. The bus was a kick, the tour guide was a great story teller and full of information about wine, food and customs. The food, olive oil and wine were beautifully presented, this was a wonderful day in the Tuscan countryside!

Highly recommend this excellent cooking class!! Luca and Carmela are awesome!
This cooking class was a true highlight of our trip to Italy! It was organized, fun, and the food we cooked was fabulous! We loved the Tuscany farm, the beautiful indoor and outdoor kitchen, and the chefs (Luca and Carmela) were the best! My husband (who does not cook) thoroughly enjoyed the experience and had so much fun! I highly recommend this cooking class- and we thought the price was very reasonable and totally worth it!

      A delicious and fun night
Fantastic cooking class in a beautiful setting. Tiziano, Thomas, and Max taught us valuable cooking skills in a very fun and entertaining way. And to top it off, the pizza and gelato we made were absolutely delicious! Easily one of the best nights of our 12 day trip. Don’t hesitate to book this activity.

Fun day trip from Florence drinking wine!
This was a great way to see the Chianti area and make a day trip out of Florence. The guide Gloria and the driver Joseph were phenomenal! All the wine and food was really good. All the wineries gave us extra wine so we ended up drinking more than the 9 glasses that were specified.

This tour was excellent. We were not excited about being in a large tour group, but Dario was able to keep us is moving at a good pace and his energy made it interesting and personalized! The sites were amazing and his knowledge and experiences made for a life changing memorable experience.

The tour works well for a variety of ages and interest levels. It is not a wine tour or food, but all of Tuscany including Pisa

Highly recommend this tour and it is a good value.

I have done many tours with many companies and I have to say that this tour has to be one of my favorites. Our guide was Alex and he was amazing. He was very lively and knowledgeable. It also helped that he was extremely friendly and made the group feel extremely comfortable! Honestly, many tours can put me to sleep but I was totally engaged the whole time on this tour! What to expect: meeting in front of the train station where the taxis are, walking about “5 Italian minutes” to get to the coach, then your first stop is Siena (where you will walk around for about an hour), your next location is the charming countryside where you will have a delicious lunch with wine (and good wine) and not to mention you are overlooking the gorgeous rolling hills of Tuscany, your next stop is a small medieval town of San Gimignano where you can get the best gelato in the world...seriously they won that award, and finally your last stop is Pisa...and of course you must take your cheesy leaning tower pictures there! Expect a full day of amazing views of Tuscany! Our driver Antonio safely got us to each location very safely as well! I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who only has a couple of days in Florence Because you will see Tuscany in a day!

Hello Virina, We can rightly say that you were totally engaged not only for the overwhelming and accurate description of the day but particularly for the "5 Italian minutes" initial quote from Alex. He will be smiling for sure when reading this. Thanks a lot for your time! Kind Regards Walkabout

The trip started off rainy, as we waited for other day trippers and the bus we were getting wet and thinking of what a terrible day we had picked to go on a tour. However, Stefano kept the mood alive with his jokes about how lucky (or unlucky) we were to experience a rainy Tuscany day. By the time we arrived in Siena, our first stop, the sun was shining and it matched Stefano’s mood and vibe. He made the trip fun, interesting, and a learning one as well. I recommend this trip for anyone on a time limit in Tuscany who wants to see and experience breathtaking views, local culture, and a farm to table lunch! The tour takes you to three beautifully unique towns, with a local guide who shares history, stories, recommendations and although time is limited at each stop I t is worth it! If there’s a way to pick your guide (which I don’t think there is) pick Stefano and be ready to fall in love with Tuscany. San Giminiagno is mesmerizing.

Gave this tour a 5 star review the first time I took it. This time I took my son and I was not so impressed with the tour. I think the beautiful sights themselves wowed me the first time. So I am reviewing the tour itswelf of which there are many problems with the organization.

    1. They made us walk quite a bit to where the buses were parked.
    2. No bathrooms on the buses! Since there is so little time at each stop the lack of a bathroom on the bus greatly affects ones enjoyment of the tour which has limited time at each stop. BTW there really are no public bathrooms in Italy. You have to buy something at a bar or cafe to be able to use a bathroom.
    3. Not enough time at each stop. Two of the guests got lost and didnt make their way back to the bus and we all paid the price when our next stop was cut by 40 minutes.
    4. Our guide Manolo was nowhere to be found in Siena. We used the bathrooms and had some coffee when we first got there and were going to meet up with the group at the church. Except they got there first and the guide wasnt around so we ended up buying tickets to get into the church just to ask the group what time we were supposed to leave. A real pity, visiting one of the most beautiful churches in Italy and only having about 15 minutes to look at it. The tourists that went along with the group had to wait a long time from when the tour started until after visiting the church to get to the bathrooms and then there was a long long line.
    5. The lunch stop as always was the highlight of the tour, although the pasta was not so great this time around.

I would just recommend taking a train from Florence to Siena and spending a day there and taking a train to Pisa and spending half a day there, so you can enjoy these beautiful places without rushing. You don't have to take a tour. Otherwise basically at each stop you have a choice. Get something to eat or drink, buy souvenirs, take photos, or try and find a bathroom, so you have to juggle what you can do and either way its going to be rushed to the point of not enjoying the tour.

We were going to take the Walkabout Cinque Terre tour but after the Tuscany tour I realized what kind of crappy day we would have in Cinque Terre. Instead we bought first class train tickets to Monterosso and did it ourselves. We hiked two of the trails, visited a few of the cities, shopped, ate, and even had 1 full hour to swim in the ocean at Monterosso without having to rush back to a meeting spot.

If you do take this tour, when you get to San Gimignano make sure to walk around to the bottom of the city - towards the right when you get there and check out the magnificent panoramic views of Tuscany. Its definitely the best spot for photos on the whole tour and nobody even knows its there!

I highly recommend that day tour! The value for money is incredible, as the quality of the tour was above all my expectations (in terms of comfort, organisation and information provided). Our guide Stefano did an amazing job! He was highly knowledgeable and engaging and made that tour both interesting and fun, thank you very much Stefano!

Additionally, having booked the tour without lunch because I am a vegan, Stefano and the coach driver Francesco brought me directly to San Gimignano after Siena, allowing me to spend more time in this amazing city and find food that I wanted to eat (I went to the agriturismo "I Pini," highly recommend it too!). I very much appreciated their kindness and professionalism!

Vegan tip: book the tour without lunch and go to I Pini in San Gimignano! ;-)

I felt compelled to leave a review as I hope others can use this to benefit from:

This tour was an unforgettable experience and provides plenty of insight into multiple areas of Tuscany. The level of detail and historical context Alessandro provides really adds to the tour! It's refreshing to see that someone truly enjoys his work and is passionate about the areas rich past. Even when the tour had technically ended, Alessandro provides time for a Q&A with the whole bus for them to ask random questions about the area.

As for the package / tour, my girlfriend and I decided to do everything but climb Pisa as we knew we would be walking around a lot...but we went with others who elected to do this and they said it was easier than they expected. It also takes a long time to get to Pisa, so you have an opportunity to rest on the bus beforehand.

Overall, we highly recommend this tour that covers Siena, Lunch (pasta / wine), San Gimignano, and Pisa.

Great way to see alot in one day. The guide was excellent and so was the bus driver. Just found it a shame that we visited during off peak, most stores were closed until March. But the views made up for everything. The lunch and winery was excellent, but I wish they got to showcase their wine more and do proper tastings. The lunch was delicious. We got to walk around Pisa, it really is more than just the leaning tower. Apart from shops being closed, only other disappointment was the cost. It was advertised for AUD99 but we were charged AUD150 per person and it was off-peak. Also would have been nice for the bus to pick us up or at the very least drop us off at the Train Station.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. We are glad that you enjoyed the tour and that you saw that there is more to Pisa than just the leaning tower! If you were charged more for the tour you should take the matter up with Viator/Tripadvsior. The pick-up and drop-off is as close as the comune will let tour buses get to the meeting point at the station. We also have to pay a hefty fee for this and some tour companies meet even further away. Thank you very much for your feedback. Kind regards The Walkabout Team

For anyone with limited time in Florence—for that matter, in Italy in general—this is a most excellent way to see a great cross-section of Tuscany in a day. The tour length can initially look daunting (12hrs) but it passes by way faster than one imagines it will. Though all 3 stops were rewarding for their own reasons (Siena for the informative history in the tour, Pisa because it's Pisa), I think my favorite was San Gimigliano; by the time we got there we'd spent a good lunch at a nearby winery with several of the other tour participants, and so when we got the 1.5 hours on our own just continued to spend the time with each other, getting gelato and souvenirs, and taking some really great pictures together. I strongly recommend adding the lunch option when booking; the winery we went to for lunch was beautiful, and the food and wine were delicious and plentiful.

I have a fairly intense fear of heights so did not go up the Tower of Pisa, but for anyone who thinks they might like to do that I'd also recommend adding the pre-booked Pisa ticket option—it will save you time waiting in line to buy your ticket on arrival, and give you more time for taking lots of pictures and maybe even sitting for a coffee and gelato. I also can't say enough positive things about our guide, Chris (I think his full name was Christiano); he was punctual, professional and well-informed. He never let any of our stops run late, and so had us at each of our sites on time and then back to Florence exactly when he told us he would. I highly recommend this company for anyone looking for a great way to have an expanded view of Tuscany for a day, and even more highly recommend Chris as a tour guide. Thank you for a brilliant day!

This tour is by far the best I have ever been on, our tour guide Sara (not Sarah) was very friendly, full of humour and informative about every aspect of Tuscany, even some of the locations we drove past she was happy to tell us more about its history.

It's perfect for couples and is an excellent way to explore some of the more remote locations of Tuscany. The wine tasting part of the tour was more like having a glass or three of different wines produced from the vineyard outside with your lunch but this was still lovely and the views of the surrounding area were breathtaking!

One thing I will say is don't be put off by how long this tour is, it may be a full day but it flies by! The only thing that we weren't that impressed with was Pisa because it felt more like a tourist trap but we absolutely loved visiting San Gimignano and wish we had more time there during the tour. Our guide Sara recommended trying the Gelato in San Gimignano and I 10/10 recommend trying while there, it was mouth-watering.

I honestly have never experienced a tour company who looks after their customers so well, they had water available for a small fee on the coach and was fitted with air conditioning which was perfect when travelling between stops.

Additionally, a special shout out to the coach driver Antonio. A full day of driving isn't easy and he was excellent and friendly to talk to so don't be afraid to tip :).

Incredible. The amount you see in a day is truly phenomenal. If you’re afraid of walking or don’t fancy doing 15k in a day this isn’t the tour for you, however if you enjoy being busy on holiday then you’ll love this. Clear and concise timings all day with meeting points at every location, information thrown at you all day and any questions you have about periods in history, places or people will be answered. Absolutely worth the money, don’t worry about being scammed or conned out of your euros as the tour leader will make sure you know where to go that is genuine. Hopefully you will get the Alessandro/Nando combo for your tour leader and bus driver, they’re both absolute professionals and incredibly lovely individuals. This tour will make you laugh and the attitude of the tour leader and bus driver will put you completely at ease also. Bottles of water on the bus for a small fee and Aircon, so in between stops you can rehydrate or get your head down for an hour. I cannot recommend this tour enough, a truly wonderful day in the Toscana countryside for couples, family’s or even if you’re solo travelling. Thank you Alessandro and Nando!!!

(Side note, make sure you’ve got 50 cents and €1 coins for any public toilets by tourist attractions as they charge!)
