Absolutely loved the experience, I booked this as a surprise for my girlfriend with neither of us being experienced cooks. Our chef Francesco (who was leading the class) was brilliant, sassy, funny and was very patient as we were stationed with another couple who loved a chat. Despite there being a few difficult people in the wider group the chef showed great interpersonal skills in handling varying attitudes with a great sense of humour. Wine was provided during the class and we later sat down to a 4 course meal as the chefs served the food we had prepared earlier.

The kitchen itself was modern, well laid out and provided a comfortable atmosphere. During the class the chef talked us through his experience, Italian cuisine and tips and tricks to get the most out of the recipes we were executing.

With Francesco taking another group as we sat down to consume our meal, he made sure to come and have a chat before we left and we were given a recipe book to recreate the dishes at home (which we definitely will!).

Would highly recommend the class to anyone regardless of prior cooking experience.

Thank you Francesco so much for making us feel so comfortable. :)

This class was amazing - so much fun and learned a lot not only about Italian cooking, but some very helpful general kitchen tips about knife work and oven times. The food was amazing and we knew that we had a part in every bite. My husband, a photographer and non cook, also participated and the chef was so generous with him allowing him time for his photos and also making him work in the kitchen in a way that set him up for success.

I couldn't recommend this more highly - a great way to learn and experience the culture.

One of the highlights of our trip to Italy! Our group of 11 thoroughly enjoyed Chef Francisco’s cooking class. Fresh, simple ingredients, Francisco’s enthusiastic instruction, and teamwork resulted in a scrumptious four course dinner. Francisco was born to do this! His love of cooking and his ability to share his knowledge in an easy going, humor filled way was delightful. Would highly recommend this experience!!

Less of a cooking class than an observing class. The website said there would be 16 people max. There were 22 people and 4 stations, meaning there were 5-6 people in each station cooking a full meal. How much cooking do you think can be done under that circumstance?

Our cooking learning experience with Greta and Manuel was wonderful and delicious.
Our suggestion to improve the experience is each person has their own personal preparation stations. Last evening each person was handling all the food. Thank you.

Very delicious food and extremely nice chef. I’ve never been to a cooking class so I’m not sure how they usually work but after you prepare the ingredients they add them all into one pot and then serve it to the table. All 4 dishes were delicious and I would definitely recommend. Also comes with wine!!!

Whether novice or experienced this was an enjoyable class. This is one you could take more than once to pick up better skills. Great people running this as well - very patient but kept the class moving along.

Ours was a large class 24+ broken into 4 cooking stations. two stations had their own chef, we had the head chef attending two groups. Be prepared for a lot of standing as there were only a few chairs available in the cooking area. Be aware that you won’t be eating what you prepared personally. All the food is combined together and then served out in a dining area. Hope that everyone is decent at cooking! This also didn’t involve going to a market to shop for the food which is why I booked this class as I didn’t have more time to devote to that, but i’m retrospect, perhaps that’s where you might learn more.
We made a potato flan type appetiser which involves peeling potatoes, ricing them, and mixing together some more ingredients and putting the mixture into cups. some of us chopped onions. note that each person doesn’t prepare everything, you work as a group at your station. if you happen to have a Julia Child at your station, you end up standing and watching a lot, not much doing.
we also made some turkey marsala which involved browning turkey chunks and more chopped onions and mushrooms. Lastly we put together a tiramisu for dessert. we also made pasta for ravioli but that was a bit more of a job than time allowed for so the dough didn’t get thin enough and it ended up being quite thick and tough ravioli. there was a lot left in bowls no one wanted to eat.
This is getting long so I’ll try to remain brief. Dinner was finally served well after 8:00. Other folks joined the eating part, not sure where they were in preparing. i was disappointed that there didn’t end up being enough of the turkey marsala for everyone. the first people served had a decent portion but by the time they got half way served i saw them counting how many more to go and we ended up with about three pieces of meat and it was more of a taste of the fish rather than a true dinner.
all in all i was disappointed that you didn’t really learn at least some tuscan cooking and there wasn’t enough food (other than the lousey ravioli) for a dinner. i needed to supplement on my walk back to the hotel.

We had an amazing experience. The classes were the perfect size, very Organized and the perfect length of time! Very Hands on and felt very comfortable doing everything. In the end, we ate all the food together with a bottle of wine. Before you leave, they also give you a Recipe booklet of everything you cooked. We met some great people from all over the world, which we will still have contact with :) and would highly recommend this class for anyone.
