St. Mark’s Basilica and the Doge’s Palace, two of Venice’s most popular attractions, are conveniently close to one other, so a combined tour of both, with skip-the-line access, just makes sense. This guided tour reveals info crucial to understanding each landmark, includes a ticket to view the Golden Pall (Pala d’Oro) in the basilica, and saves you hours of time waiting in line.
What to Expect
Meet your guide in St. Mark’s Square and walk to the Doge’s Palace, where the Doge once governed the Venetian Republic.

Bypass the lines and tour the halls filled with artwork by greats such as Titian and Tintoretto. Admire the Giants’ Staircase, Golden Staircase, Opera Museum, and Institutional Rooms. Then, cross the Bridge of Sighs and imagine the anguish of the long-ago prisoners who were led across it to Venice’s infamous prison.

Afterward, continue to St. Mark’s Basilica, one of the world’s most magnificent cathedrals. Avoid the ticket lines and absorb the spiritual atmosphere as you explore the interior, hearing how it reflects the flowering of Venice during its heyday.

Marvel at the golden mosaics and other artworks as your guide shares their history, and you view highlights including the gemstone-coated Byzantine Golden Pall (Pala d’Oro) altarpiece.

Your tour ends when your guide says goodbye at St. Mark’s.

Expensive but informative

With the square flooded, the meeting place was very chaotic. The guide was good but difficult to hear/understand (English tour). Definitely worth seeing, just not sure this was the best way.

Glad we did this tour, but still too crowded. Not tour's fault

We went to Venice in september, hoping to avoid crowds. no such luck! This tour was recommended by Rick Steves and we are glad we did this tour instead of trying to see on our own. It was a little tricky figuring out where they...More

Awful service!

I mistakenly booked the tour for the day before we could use it. Once I discovered the error, there was no way to rectify it. Neither the phone nor any other contact details worked. No one ever answered the phone or responded in any way....More

The tour starts at Doge's Palace then continues to St. Mark's Basilica. So yes, the skip the lines refer to both but depending on the season you go and how many people there are, there may be a short wait before the tour... More

3 hours lots of walking. Make sure you get a Venetian licensed guide. With her we got to sit in the Basilica during the tour which was a nice break to have .

You get the Basilica itself and the Doge's Palace, but NOT the museum on the tour that I took
