A journey back in time
From the time we arrived at the gates of this impressive palace we knew we were in for a treat! Our guide was waiting for us and we were on our way to the inside of this magnificent place! Palace was built in the 16 th century for the Savoy family in the baroque style.Room after room, there is no shortage of opulence! Sparkling chandeliers in the ball room and a Chinese room built for a royal marriage filled with a collection of Chinese vases.Dining room with table set had the feeling that a banquet was about to take place! The armoury room is filled with stuffed horses and an amazing collection of armour! Even Napoleon’s sword used in Egypt is on display! We were shown The chapel of the Holy Shroud which was built to house the famous Holy Shroud of Turin! It is connected to the Palace. Our guide was excellent and explained all the history of this beautiful place in detail.Palace is a UNESCO world heritage site .We were also shown the Royal library that contains over 2000 drawings and important collection of manuscripts. This tour was one of the best tours I have ever been on and was well worth it! We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of this palace and highly recommend it when visiting Turin!

A must do tour!
The Royal Palace tour is definitely worth the time & money. Our guide Francesca was extremely knowledgeable & informative. Her English was excellent. The highlights of our tour were the church where the shroud is kept ( even though it’s not actually there) & the Royal Armoury. Book your tour, you won’t be disappointed!

Extraordinary place and grounds
Sep 2019 • Couples
This palace is simply not to be missed. It is incredibly beautiful and fascinating in its architectural details. We were lucky in that we were able to see the private apartments of the Royal family which aren’t open all the time. Our guide was knowledgeable and personable and made sure we got to see as much as possible.

A Walk Through History Made Current & Approachable
Our guide, Carlo Reale, was amazing. His knowledge of the history of the Palace is in depth but he is able to make it come alive and weave what was and why it was to how it matters today in the everyday day life of Torino. He is funny and engaging and answers every question allowing us to be highly interactive. His passion for the restoration of the Guarini chapel and his presentation took our breath away at the sheer majesty of the room. If you want a tour that doesn’t disappoint book this tour and ask for Carlo!

Whether it's worth the cost is debatable

Having said that the Guide who spoke English was excellent. The Shroud is kept locked away in the Chapel so all one sees are facsimiles on screens, Better to visit in May when less hot and the flowers in the gardens in full bloom.

Turin Royal Palace with Holy Shroud
We had a wonderful guide named Lara. She was bright and friendly and very interesting. We loved our tour with her. She even showed us a few things not on the tour. It was a lovely morning with a lovely, interesting guide.

A morning that took your breath away
Unsure of what to expect, we had the most amazing guide, Carlo. His passion for his beloved city shone through on many occasions. The magnificence of the Palace and it various rooms was only surpassed by the descriptive way Carlo explained. The chapel was a very moving moment for us. Would highly recommend this tour.
