Good sights, not such a great guide
Sep 2021
First, the sights were quite good (castle, Duomo, Last Supper, etc.), and I liked the fact that this tour covered the main things in a single day. However... Our guide on Sept 14, 2021 (believe her name started with F - Flavia?) was not the best.

She seemed like a very nice person and she put a great amount of effort into the tour. She also had a great deal of knowledge about Milan, so the ingredients for a good tour were there. I hate to post negative feedback, yet I hope this helps other travelers (and perhaps spurs some changes in how the tour is conducted).

Our guide offered way, way, way too much information about each stop. She talked almost non-stop and she gave too many facts, names, dates, and information that, quite frankly, were boring. There were some nice nuggets of interesting information, but they got lost in all of the details. It was as if she was trying to cram years of studying into our heads in the span of 5 or 6 hours. She stayed way too long at each site (especially the castle), but breezed past other sites (i.e. beautiful fountain in front of the castle entrance) that people clearly wanted to pause, admire, and photograph. She walked so fast from one site to another (after spending way too long standing still during long winded explanations) that we didn't have time to appreciate things we saw along the way. Furthermore, the people at the back of the line couldn’t see the things she was commenting on, since we weren’t there yet. One poor woman with walking difficulties had a hard time keeping up with the group and the guide didn’t seem to notice.
She also seemed unaware that she lost the interest of her audience early on (when people are looking at their cell phones, wandering off, looking at other things, asking about bailing on the tour and getting our own tickets to the Last Supper, etc., that ought to be a clue).
Tour company: Pease, tell your guides that "less is more". Tell us the basics (about 1/5th of what you told us), throw in a couple of interesting but brief stories, let us absorb it, take photos, and ask questions (without fear that it will lead to another half hour lecture while standing still). Also, tell us about the Last Supper before we go in to see it and then be quiet while we are trying to take it all in (or stand to the side and answer questions, but don’t use our precious 15 minutes in the room trying to give us your commentary).

At first, I wondered if this was just my take, but 5 of the other 10 people on the tour commented to me that they felt the same way (the other 5 might have felt this way as well, but didn't comment to me). Again, the guide seemed like a nice, hard working, and knowledgeable person. She just needs to "read" her audience, and perhaps ask for their feedback along the way (i.e. Is this too much detail? Do you want to know more? How is the pace? Are you ready to move on? Would you like to pause here? Etc.).

Couldn’t be better. This is amazing.
Charles was our encyclopedic guide. His English was excellent. In addition to his amazing breadth of knowledge was his personable style and humor. On a long day of touring and facts it is good to have a personality who is so approachable and human.

Having headsets made hearing him easy wherever we went. He was thoughtful and considerate of our needs. He gave us everything we needed...and more.

This is a challenging day if you are not a walker (About 7 miles of walking). However, it was nicely broken up by a generous lunch break (on your own).

This tour is everything that it promises and I would definitely choose Charles again as a guide.

Although there is no obligation to tip I was shocked that so few people appreciated how hard he worked for us by way of a tip.

One of the best organized tours I’ve been on. Covered the most popular sites in a seamless free flowing walking tour. Our guide was very witty and knowledgeable provided deep insights into the background, history and evolution of Milan’s status as an important city in Italy’s rich heritage.

Walking tour of milan
Fantastic tour! Charles was great! Very funny and informative. Good for solo travelers, I never felt lonely or alone. I only had 1.5 days in Milan, so this tour was a perfect way for me to see the most important sites. Definitely recommend to anyone who hasn’t been to the city. The pizza place Charles brought us to for lunch was super good!

Fantastic!
Jan 2020 • Couples
Charles was an amazing guide. This tour was worth every penny. From the initial explanation about the modern art at the meeting point, to the last chapel with art from Luini, every detail was fascinating and informative. There is a lot of walking on this tour—so make sure you have good walking shoes, and are willing to move. We learned so much, we gained a greater appreciation for Milan and its treasures.
Side note—there is little time, and so much to see, so if you want to go to the museum at Sforza Castle, or to the top of the Duomo-plan to do it a different day.

Incredible Tour Lead by the Best Guide
Dec 2019
My wife and I were extremely happy with this tour! We must say that the tour was excellent due to the guide Charles Ludovic. His knowledge of the city, the country, the sites, and history was second to none. He was very personable and related to every participant individually. He has an excellent command of the English language and understood the Italian culture as well as other European cultures. Be sure to ask for Charles!

The tour was well organized and interesting throughout. We felt we had covered much of what Milan has to offer in one day.

Of course, the highlight of the tour was The Last Supper however all stops were interesting and Charles added significantly to the experiance. We highly recommend this tour.
