About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Nomad380808676620 contributionsThe worst experience everThe worst experience ever. I bought two tickets for the Bernina day trip online with this company, Zani Viator Local, that handles in Milan; the night before, they sent a voucher with the wrong meeting address; of course, I missed the tour meeting point; the agency Zani refused to refund my money. I pass my complain to trip advisor, and I'm still waiting for them to contact me. Please do not use this company, Zani Local Milan. It was the worst experience a worst customer service ever. The Milan agency made a mistake, after showing them the wrong address voucher they issue a small portion of what I pay for; I'm still waiting for Trip Advisor to handle the complaint and back the customer up regarding this issue. I travel with my son to Europe for a 6 day trip, we planned to do a day tour and we end up losing the experience and the money. Trip advisor needs to handle review this and issue my complete refund. - Gsoonly0 contributionsBeautiful place, secret in description:)There are lots of things written already, no way I can add much more to this other that one small secret that I wish to share with you: try to go to the hotel right in front of the Royal Villa , Villa Monza, and see the old paintings of the place there on the walls. It is adding the feeling, it wakes up your fantasy and gives a sense of what you are looking at there in the palace . Besides I believe the palace is beautiful and is worth time you spend there. Beautiful park shall not be missed as wellWritten 9 March 2024
- i_therefore_conclude0 contributionsGorgeous! Unforgettable!LONG day out but so worth it! Meeting time is 7am. Anna was our tourguide. Big group was divided into 2 buses: English and Italian-speaking… Bus left Milan at 7:20am, WiFi in the bus not reliable. The drive is 2.5 hours from Milan to St Moritz (bring passport). We were given 2.5 hours to walk around and take pictures of the frozen lake and watch the cross-country skiers. After a quick grocery store lunch, we boarded the red Bernina train for the most gorgeous train ride to Tirano. We felt like Anna and Elsa in winter wonderland. Every turn of the train provided gorgeous postcard-like scenery. Both bus and train rides were comfortable, there were multiple bathroom breaks and a ton of great memories. So glad we did this organized tour. Arrived back in Milan at 8pm. More pix & vids on IG: @i_therefore_concludeWritten 7 March 2024

- K0smasK0 contributionsWorth itA bit expensive, bit otherwise a very good tour. The main reason we got it is because we wanted to see the Last Supper but it's impossible to find tickets last moment, so this was the only available option. But we did enjoy the rest of the tour as well (Scala, Duomo, etc). The tour guide did good job too.Written 27 February 2024
- Tour4202430 contributionsGood! It was a nice tour overall. Our guide was very knowledgeable and with a good sense of humor. I wished the group was a bit smaller so we could move from one spot to another faster and cover more information vs waiting for some ppl taking their time to take pictures, window shopping, get lost etc.Written 23 February 2024
- Gabrielle L0 contributionsGreat wholesome experienceEnjoyed the trip to St Moritz and staying there for a few hours to explore. At the time it was snowing and it was extra special to experience. Our train ride home was also great and full of photographic memories. Our tour guide Monica was so warm and welcoming and full of information that really added so much more to our tour. Thank you for a lovely once in a lifetime trip to St Moritz and the Swiss alps.Written 22 February 2024
- Steviefull0 contributionsAs Close As Going To A Show As We Could GetGoing to Milan in the Summer had one negative to it, there was nothing on at the theatre to go and take in the wonderful building as it should be seen. Saying that we booked this tour so we could at least have a look around and see the building. With it being out of season there was a lot of cleaning of chandeliers going on which was interesting in its own right. Our tour guide Renata took us through the history of the building including its construction and the important dates and shows throughout its time. The foyer has many statues and an interactive screen about the buildings construction. The whole tour took around an hour and at a cost of approximately £35.00each was a little on the expensive side but worth it as the only way we were able to see the theatre.Written 26 January 2024
- 191nas0 contributionsFly business but feels economyFly business with Swiss airline feels like fly economy. Start from long line to checkin, (business line seems longer than economy), terrible food selection and service at the lounge, to seat does not really go flat, the middle part stick out against your lower back, very uncomfortable. Would not fly with them again.Written 15 January 2024
- SedaB_130 contributionsUnprofessional dinner show and organizationVery bad organization. The seating plan was terrible, main stage is located between the wide corner walls thats why some of the tables can not see the performers and so the show. We couldnt watch the show and informed the staff but they did nothing. All the show consist of 2 singer and 2 dancer, careography, light and sound system poor, dont expect a professional night show, disappointing experience. Marketing images are not real.Written 12 January 2024

- 63mikap0 contributionsThe worst experience everThe worst experience ever. Paid around 150€ for 2 people in second class to do the experience from Tirano to St Moritz. When I arrived to the train station it was like a zoo. People were pushing me, trying to get space. The train was fully packed and we ended up standing in little corridor with so many people. Very unpleasant. Normally I am very positive person but I absolutely hated this experience. I definitely don’t recommend to anyone. If I would spend 5 € per person then most probably I would enjoyed it, however after spending so much money you would like to at least be able to sit down.Written 9 December 2023

The tour was overcrowded ( like 2 grey hound buses full) and headsets that were given to hear guide were unclear. The described boat tour of lake Como was actually just hopping on water ferry/ taxi and sitting while the ferry did its stops on 4 or 5 ports and then all over again as it headed back to Como port. Never went to bellagio, I guess they don’t go there in winter months. I was not informed of that until at lake Como. I ended up being very disappointed on something I was so looking forward to seeing.

I do not recommend Zan Viaggi tour company for any families travel due to their extremely poor customer service and untrained staff. They do not answer any phone calls or emails during urgencies. I got 15 mins late for the initial part of the tour due to city wide taxi strike and missed my bus but the tour refused to help my family with kids in any way or guide us to meet with the tour at the next meeting point. I bought a train ticket to Lake Cuomo which costed only $5 and a boat ticket (10 E)to go to Lake Bellagio at my own expense. The cost of travel to Lake Bellagio is very low and tourists do not need to spend such high cost for the ferry. It was only with the help of tour guide, Salvatore that I was able to join the tour on the boat for the last few hours. I was not able to get the audio head phones but other people on the tour complained of their poor audio quality. The boat provided in the tour is the same public boat provided by the own. Over all Lake Bellagio is a beautiful place and worth visitng and there are lot of other options to go Lake Bellagio instead of paying a premium price for this company that does not care for families with young kids.

I’ve never been on a guided tour where you are not allowed to ask questions. When we asked questions such as when and where we were supposed to meet up again, the tour guide “mikayla” through her hand in our face and would not speak to us unless it was through the radio/earphones device. The “boat cruise” was a public transportation ride through lake como, don’t be fooled. Additionally the tour guide in my humble opinion loved the sound of her own voice, rambling on the loud bus speaker rather than letting passengers enjoy the scenery from Milan to Como peacefully. Ultimately I wouldn’t recommend this company, or tour guide especially.

Dear Julia,
I am sorry about your experience on our tour, we value the quality of service and the experience of our costumer above all.
I apologize for the behaviour of your guide and I guarantee she won't be working with us anymore.
I hope you can come again to Milan and experience another of our tours.

I wouldn’t recommend this trip.
The boat/ferry we was on was absolutely packed. Your on it for 2 hours to get to Bellagio. There are limited seats. So we stood for 2 hours in the Italian sun. You can’t even get to the side of the boat to take photos as so over crowded. They make you buy ffp3 face masks (they don’t accept surgical masks) for 3euro each to get on the boat itself- they don’t let you on without this specific mask. Then when you get on everyone takes it off anyway. Seems to be a money making scheme.
Lake commo is beautiful. But there isn’t anything to see in Bellagio that you can’t see going for a stroll in lake commo.
A lot cheaper to get the train from Milano Cardona train station to lake commo.
The guide simply told us you have an hour+ in lake commo and 2 hours in Bellagio, meet back at this point. On the boat he told us about the houses on the lake itself but we couldn’t see them as couldn’t even get to the edge of the boat.
Overall very disappointing and not at all enjoyable.

Pro: the organisation with on-time departure worked well and it was convenient to travel by bus and not have to worry about tickets or the timetable. There was plenty of time (possibly TOO much) to discover Como and Bellagio on our own.
Cons: at this price and with this description, we expected a real tour guide who would tell us a lot of exciting things. We were bitterly disappointed in this point. The comments were rather rare and very short, without further explanations. On the boat trip, there was only information like "here is another beautiful old villa", we expected much more information.
Conclusion: this tour is only suitable for transport, but you can get away a lot cheaper with the independent journey by train...

Bus was fine, but the actual tour could have been organised by yourself at half the price if not less. Only value was the tour guide / radios but they were such poor quality and our tour guide was aloof and didn’t do much more than point out buildings on a walk in which she lost almost the whole group. There aren’t any public toilets in Como (or on the bus!) and she told us to just go into the coffee shops - but the coffee shops said they were closed (understandably). Had to wait in line for 10 minutes for the one (gross) toilet at the McDonald’s. Boat was oversold, and for the winter tour the Venicular was fine but we had to walk for 15 minutes to the terrace on the other end to see the view. For over $100 a person it was really poor value. For anyone who wants to achieve the same result:
Get the train from Milan to Como (about EU 5 a person each way), buy a ticket for the boat at the dock (between EU5-10 a person) and then buy a ticket at the venicular (again between 5-10 a person). Total about $30 a person for the same experience and you have more flexibility with your time!

We got the departure time wrong and missed the coach so spent the morning chasing the group around Lake Como. After being told several wrong instructions over the phone we finally found the group by pure luck just about to board a ferry in Bellagio.
The tour guide, Eduardo, was very nice and seemed shocked we actually found them. The rest of the tour was nice, beautiful scenery driving all the way around the lake and eventually getting off at Como to explore for an hour, Which we had already done in the morning whilst trying to find the group, so we just went for some late lunch instead before the drive back to Milan.
To be honest a train to Como was only around €15 and the ferry to Bellagio was about the same, the queue at Como was huge though and a lot of the boats quickly sold out so it is a lot easier going on a tour as all travel is obviously included.
All in all, a great experience. Cheers.

Como, the largest city in this region. Along the way we are regularly treated to beautiful views of small villages on the other side of the lake. The radiant sun makes it even more idyllic, but otherwise there is little to do in this region (at this time of year).

I would warn anyone off taking this tour in the height of summer. Hardly any time spent and no guided tour in either town of Como or Bellagio, and the ferry boats were overcrowded and sweltering with no ability to hear many of the tour guide's comments unless within 10-15 yards of him. Though traffic was light headed to Como, the bus ride back was interminable due to lake vacation and Milan and Como rush hour--poor timing. This tour bites off more than any reasonable tourist will want to try chewing in one day. If you take it, make a beeline to the shady side of the upper deck for the breeze, and plan on hearing nothing from the tour guide due to lack of transmission to your headphone.
P.S. There is no hearing aid accommodation with the earbud headset. I left one in and put the headset earbud in the other to make do.

The whole tour wonderful we particularly enjoyed beautiful Bellagio. The tour was well organised and credit has to be given to the tour leaders who manage such a large number of people. At times it was a little difficult to understand our tour leader but he worked hard to explain everything in English , Spanish & sometimes Italian. We were grateful for transport by coach as many other tours require a lot of walking.

I do believe I saw some folks put their luggage underneath the bus as it is a large bus that we traveled to get to Lake Como. The only issue I see would be traveling on the ferry. There are a lot of people so I would get to the ferry site early in order to get your luggage on. I would ask the provider before I would not return with the group. Although we did lose some folks on the return trip. You are going to love it there!!!
