The tour was both informative and entertaining, highly recommended! Lindi brought to life the history of the Vatican in a very engaging way, time flew by during the tour.

We arrived at the requested time at 10AM and started at around 10:15. In the interim, we all checked in with the tour operators. Either mobile or print out confirmations were fine and these were not required afterwards. First Lindi took us to the Vatican museum entrance hall where there was an opportunity to visit the toilets while she collected the tickets. After that we picked up the listening devices and proceeded straight in without having to queue. Tour started with her explaining the history of the Sistine Chapel which was at the end of the tour (this was done because as she explained you are meant to keep in silence while in there - clearly not everyone adheres to this). Water fountains to refill bottles or drink were abundant throughout but next toilet option was at the end.

Tour then continued inside. She highlighted the most important artifacts, gave interesting facts and history about them, and there was opportunity to ask questions. It must be said that the museum is massive with an extensive collection and in the roughly two hours we were there, there is only so much you can cover. If you want to linger and look at everything, then this is not the our for you. However, if you want to soak in lots of information in an easy to digest format, I highly recommend it.

We got to the end around 12:30 where the tour guide explained our two options. 1. Go into Sistine Chapel and spend as much time there as we like. Then exit and re-queue to enter the St Peter's basilica (which is free to visit) at our own pace. 2. Spend about 15 minutes looking around in the Sistine Chapel then meet her at its exit and walk through together to the entrance of the basilica using a shortcut available to group tours only. Everyone went with option two. This meant avoiding the horrendous queueing in the sun to enter the square in front of the basilica (and quite frankly, with the crowds in the chapel, 15 minutes was enough to appreciate its beauty).

Although the tour was over at this point, Lindi made herself available for questions in front of the basilica. The basilica itself is free to visit and once you are inside on the square in front of it, you can enter as you like. However, going up to the top of the dome is 8 or 10 euros (depending on whether you want to use the lifts or not) and the queue there was about one hour. We did that too and it was worth the wait as the top of the dome is the highest point in Rome, so you get amazing views 360.

The equipment used during the tour to listen to Lindi's narration was good quality, we were able to hear everything clearly throughout. Only when we dropped back by quite some distance did it start to cut out. She had two spares which we were put to use quite quickly as the batteries died for some folks. Later on one more replacement was needed which she phoned for and got delivered to where the group was quite quickly. Mentioning this as a fair few folks in other reviews complained about the comms devices. They had problems here too but they were prepared to sort out issues quickly.

Booked hosted tickets for the Vatican and Sistine Chapel. Clear instructions on where to find the hosts on the day. Entry was quick and straight forward. Tickets were printed for us and our host Nico was very informative about how to plan our route through the Vatican in order to experience everything and made sure to tell us about the specific rules of the Sistine Chapel. Would highly recommend booking hosted tickets with EcoArt if you want to have an independent experience of the Vatican and want to skip the long queues.

This experience was awesome as it was simple and quick! We were able to skip the very long line at the Vatican Museum and Nico, our guide, was more than accommodating. He did a great job at explaining everything that was going on and made the process simple for all. I would 100% recommend using EcoArt if you are trying to get skip the line tickets!

Yes, we did technically skip the line (although the line on the morning we were there wasn’t that long), but it didn’t feel like we saved much time by the time you factor in the waiting, milling, more waiting, tour guide giving a lot of instruction, more waiting, etc. Did not seem worth the price when it was still close to an hour from the time our tour started until we walked into the museum. Guide claimed without his service it would be a 3+ hour wait, but when we exited the museum, there wasn’t even a line to get in. The value, I’m sure, depends on how busy the museum is at any given time.

Hi Lauren! I know the logistics of getting inside the Vatican can be a bit confusing, so thank you for the opportunity to explain. All skip the line tickets to the Vatican are time-restricted. If you book for a specific time, we ask you to come just 15 minutes ahead of time for check-in and to minimize wait. We always depart right on time, at the time you booked. If you come earlier, we always appreciate it, but it does mean there is going to be a longer wait until departure. After security, all vouchers need to be exchanged inside the Museums which is a process everyone must go through, no exceptions, which can take up to 15 minutes on very busy days. Without skip the line tickets, not only would you need to queue up outside, but would need to queue up again once again when inside to purchase your tickets. We keep you out of the queue and focused on getting in and enjoying your visit. It is also possible that, when you left the museum it was the end of the day and they were no longer allowing people in (hence no queue), but of course not being there on the day I of course do not know what time you left. I hope that clears up a few things for you and helps you appreciate your investment in Skip the Line tickets in a new light. Cheers!

When titled "Skip The Line," you'd expect exactly that. However, this was not the case. First, the address it gave to get our tickets was wrong. We went to the office, only for her to tell us to go to another address; the Skip the Line tickets were a different place. So we went there, and there were about 200 people trying to check in. We got there 30 minutes early, and gave us stickers to wear. We had to wait for 50 people to get their stickers, no tickets given. We were told to get in a line, and waited in the heat, for a guide to then take us to the Sistine Chapel and museums, and waited in line again. Then we went inside, and waited for HER to wait in line, buy 50 tickets and then finally handed them to us. All in all, we waited in 3 lines, and we could've just gone and gotten our tickets ourselves more quickly. All the waiting was over an hour and a half before we got inside - other people just walked up, bought tickets and went inside in 10 minutes. Total waste of time and money; we were frustrated before even going inside.

Hello, We believe there may be confusion, we do not have an office that is open to the public so it's not possible that you came to our office. Additionally, we do not have a female ticket coordinator so I am assuming you had tickets with another company and mistakenly left a review here. If you get in touch with me directly I can help you try and figure out who your booking was with.

Very well organised and well informed tour before reaching the meeting point. We were able to skip the line, and our tour guide Hilary was very considerate allowing us to refill our bottles and have toilet breaks, as well as offering to take photos of those who requested, and offered tips on how and where to take photographs. Hilary was a fantastic guide, and was very knowledgable in the art history side of the Vatican Museum, and we really appreciated the tour guide stick with the pink flag and the lady bug helping us to locate our group. Also, Hilary showed us the emergency exits and gave us practical advice which was greatly appreciated. However, the radios we were given were difficult to use and were static when far away which happened often as the museum was busy resulting in the information being challenging to listen to and you would find yourself lost in the museum/ trying to understand what was said. The Vatican museum is a vast place with lots to see, which can be a bit overwhelming but being on a guided tour helps to narrow down the information. An enjoyable and memorable experience.

The skip the line option is crucial when you want to visit the Chapel Sistine. Though you go inside the Vatican museums in group, you are completely free once you have your ticket to access the different museums, which I really appreciated. It is not high season completely yet but I could already see the value of this ticket

Cosimo was very helpful in organising the meet up point by contacting us a day before and providing clear instructions on where to meet.

The tour was very quick and organised in terms of getting through the long queues for the museums which is good for people on a itinerary for their time in Rome.

Finally, due to this tour being unguided, Cosimo offered his personal recommendations for ‘must see’ within the museums and also provided insights on some other attractions within Vatican City which was helpful for a first time in Rome.

I was unsure about buying tickets to the museum as I did not know what to expect. It’s much more than religious relics and tapestries, there are many items from Egyptian, Greek and Roman antiquity. It’s easy to get lost, and the signposting is quite poor, but it did not tarnish the experience by occasionally wandering around the same areas. We didn’t pay for the audio guide, and if you are planning to do this within an hour or so - don’t bother. However, if you plan on spending 2-3 hours here then it’s probably vital to pay for it and have a better understanding of each item.

You are not allowed to take photographs within the Sistine Chapel (although that did not stop a large number of people disobeying the stewards).

Me and my partner visiting the Vatican Museum and Sistine chapel as part of our holiday to Rome, and it was brilliant. We would highly recommend booking tickets online through Trip Advisor. It was easy to find the meeting location, the taxi was cheap, our guide who took us in to get our tickets was there early and was very helpful. Paolo (our guide) was very friendly.
The museum itself is huge and we spent around 2 hours there. The art is beautiful, the paintings are exquisite and we had a great time. Although it says there is a dress code this didn’t seem to be enforced. Don’t let taxi drivers rip you off that are outside the Vatican though. It cost us €7 from our hotel near the Trevi fountain to the Vatican, and going back they tried to charge us €38. We walked half way and found a different taxi.

Overall amazing experience.
