8.00: Departure from your accommodation from Rome with our private luxury car and our English and Spanish speaking driver. Montepulciano is a beautiful city in Tuscany, you can enjoy a glorious journey through the famous Crete Senesi (clay hills). Your first stop will be in a farm, where you will have a guided tour with an expert on wines and wineries, in English-Spanish. You can taste excellent wines and also taste the olive oil directly from the source! "Alfredo - winemaker" will present the wine and explain how to taste it, explain its origin, etc., and you can taste up to 5 flavored varieties. Following your guided tour starting from the vineyards and cellars, you will later have a wonderful tasting of different varieties of fine wines, including the Nobile di Montepulciano wine. The noble Montepulciano wine is produced from a Sangiovese clone known as Prugnolo Gentile. The wine tasting will be accompanied by different local specialties such as cold cuts, hams, cheeses, oil and bruschetta specialties, the typical "Vin Santo" sweet wine with the famous "cantucci". The wine was prized in the seventeenth century, thanks to the noble classes eager to receive luxury wine, and became known as the "noble" and "aristocratic" wine, hence the name. After we will visit the narrow and ancient streets of Montepulciano, the walled city of Montepulciano is perched on the high pearl of Tuscany, at 605 meters above sea level. It contains incredible artistic treasures, as well as Etruscan and Roman cellars, some dating back to before Christ. During the break, at lunch, you can enjoy a delicious meal in an excellent local restaurant specializing in traditional Tuscan recipes (not included).

Montepulciano is a medieval town, hilly, beautiful and important for its eventful history, it has origins from the Etruscan people from the 4th century BC, surrounded by vineyards, it is known for its red wine Nobile. We could admire the famous "Torre di Pulcinella" is a clock tower surmounted by Pulcinella, one of the figures of the commedia dell'arte. The central square houses the 14th century Palazzo Comunale and the Duomo, which displays a huge triptych on the altar.

In the afternoon we will move to the nearby town of Pienza, in the heart of the prized Val d'Orcia of Tuscany. Pienza is an architectural jewel as well as a formidable resource for local gastronomic products, in particular sold in both fresh and seasoned versions. in the fifteenth century Pienza was a small fortified town on top of a hill, without distinction, until when Pope Pius II (Enea Silvio Piccolomini, pope in 1458) decided to turn it into the ideal city of the Renaissance, a partially successful urban enterprise. Time is at your disposal to explore the enchanting and unique city and return to Rome.
