- maryrE6380BL0 contributionsA must for the Grandkids!Hubby and I brought our 5 Grandchildren and we had the most wonderful experience. They laughed, swam, relaxed (61 degree room) and made friends at the pool. We used the convenient rec room for the microwave and vending machines. They we're so excited to have their own Cabana! Great staff and beautiful rooms! Thank you Dunes, we will be back!Written 29 July 2024
- MinnesotanMom0 contributionsPhenomenal Guides, Favorite Part of the Trip, a must do!We booked 3 tours with “Rome Tours for Kids”: the Vatican, Colosseum and a walking tour in the evening with Pizza and Gelato. All three were absolutely phenomenal! We had been to the Vatican and Colosseum before but by far had the best experience with this company! We booked directly with them. Their communication was absolutely excellent, the guides were prompt and they answered every question and then some. The guides do an outstanding job of engaging the children…we had (2) 10 year olds, (1) 11 year old and (2) 13 year olds. As they got to know our kids they further tailored their approach to them. (E.g. our kids love mythology and Percy Jackson so they pointed out things that had connections to that). It was very hot but our guides kept us all engaged the entire time and were always finding ways to seek out shade well enjoying the sites. They also helped us skip all the lines…it couldn’t have gone any better. Out of our entire 12 day vacation to 3 counties these tours were everyone’s top highlights of the entire trip! Well worth the price.Written 23 July 2024
- BrendaJ2400 contributionsFun for the whole familyWonderful! Kept my kids (9 and 6) entertained and was very informative. My husband who has been to Rome and the Colosseum many times before said he really enjoyed the tour and learned something new! Highly recommend! Bring bottled water if you visit during the summer!Written 10 July 2024
- 647cassys0 contributionsAnother amazing tour wit Rome tours with KidsAnother amazing tour wit Rome tours with Kids. This is the 3rd time we use them while in Italy with my family and we are in love. The guide was great, despite the heat and crowds , we skipped the lines and explore the museums. The Sistine Chapel was just WOW. I cannot imagine going to the Vatican without a guide. 100% worth the money spentWritten 10 July 2024
- hartomine0 contributionsAverage tour for familiesAlthough this tour was targeted for families with kids, we were disappointed in the presentation. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly, but the stories and facts could have been presented in a way that engaged the children better. She spent too much time on the periphery of the Colosseum and showing pictures in her binder. I think there was a missed opportunity for storytelling. We had to break rank with the group just to look out over the arena floor at eye level. I acknowledge that the crowds make it difficult to keep everyone engaged, but a few days later, we took a family tour in Pompeii that was excellent and by comparison, felt that our Colosseum tour had many missed opportunities for fun and education.Written 7 July 2024
- travelfamily0040 contributionsBest kid-friendly tour of the VaticanRossella took our family through the wonders of the Vatican museum. She engaged the four young children in our group with tales of Greek and Roman myths and their connections to the art and architecture of this amazing place. Her warmth and ability to connect with the kids was exceptional. She made the Vatican come alive and kept the group's interest throughout the whole tour. Everyone loved her. Families, take this tour!Written 30 June 2024
- travelfamily0040 contributionsExtraordinary Tour of the Colosseum for ChildrenMarco is an extraordinarily gifted tour guide. The children in our group were totally captivated by his story of the Colosseum, told with great humor, energy and drama. He engaged each child and made them feel like they were part of history. Both the children and adults in our family loved it. This tour is a must for families with children in Rome.Written 30 June 2024
- shaharkehat0 contributionsGreat tour, great guide, not easy during the summer due to the heatGuide was great, the tour is very interesting. 2 areas that are tough… it’s not a skip the line tour (special line for groups, which is also quite long). During the summer hot days it was a though one to do, as their are several areas out of the shadeWritten 30 June 2024

- Alanad3430 contributionsDid have the queue for longer than expected but was very good tourWas extremely busy being April holls and we did have to queue for a while to get in which I wasn't expecting from the explanation I thought queue jump meant you're missing the queue. Anyway! The tour was brilliant and I would highly recommend it for young ones. My son really enjoyed it and our guide was very lovely .... and patient! Would recommend ...Written 9 June 2024
- pandac60 contributionsFantastic tour! Our guide Julia was so engaging and really tailored the tour to the kids, getting them involved and keeping it entertaining. We learnt so much about the Colosseum and The Forum, as well as other ruins and landmarks nearby. It was clear that Julia had a genuine interest and background in ancient history and could answer any questions we or the kids had. Perfect for avoiding the queues on a hot day too.Written 2 June 2024

I highly recommend this tour! Our tour guide, Maria, was exceptional. She kept our three young children (7, 5 and 3) engaged with her incredible knowledge and storytelling skills throughout. She is by far the best tour guide we've ever had, playing games and showing pictures to keep the kids engaged. Maria also made sure my husband and I learned a lot and had a great tour. We were very, very impressed with this tour!

Amazing experience 11+/10. My husband who doesn’t like spending the extra money on these things even said “that was so worth it”. Ask for Marco he was so energetic and truly the best! You will not regret it! Plus he takes great photos so that is a plus. Our kids and family was engaged the entire time. Other family’s we met were ready to be done and go home because of the heat and other things ours went longer and we didn’t want it to end. We also got some good tips on food/drink.

Sofia was a brilliant guide. She made thr tour interesting for all of us. Parents and kids. The boys loved 'Mr Skeletonie!' And all of the quizzes and prizes. The queue jumping made the tour stress free and she arranged for less mobile family members to go up the Colosseum in the lift.
Would highly recommend.

Marco did such an amazing job of keeping both of my boys entertained through the Colosseum and Forum. He engaged eagerly with my 9 year old who loves Greek and Roman mythology, and he was very caring with my 4 year old who gets bored easily, making him feel included and entertained. I'm so glad we decided to do a family-focused tour rather than go it alone. My oldest said it was his favorite part of our trip!

Our tour guide (I think it was Maria) was excellent. She provided just the right amount of information considering we had two teenagers with us, moved things along, made it interesting and fun for adults and kids alike. She's really knowledgeable and easy to understand. Outstanding.

A superb company from booking through to the actual tour. We did 4 tours with them - Treasures of Rome, Colosseum, Vatican and Crypts. All excellent and informative and FUN!! Had Martina and Donato as our tour guides and they were both excellent with our 12 and 14 year old children. Donato brought so much enthusiasm and joy to the whole experience - my kids were sad to leave him! We were all sad to leave this amazing city!

The tour was amazing, kids (and adults) were so engaged all the time. Maria, thank you for all the great stories, your sense of humor and positive attitude. We are already looking forward to coming back to Rome and doing some more tours. Highly recommend the tour and many thanks again.

Our tour was in August 2023 and I have had it on my to do list to write this review because of how positive of an experience we had. We still talk about it! Our tour was incredible! Donato was an amazing tour guide. Our three kids under 6 years old were captivated by all the stories and unique interactive activities we did during our tour of the coliseum and roman forum. They stayed interested for hours (which never happens)! I would highly recommend this tour for those traveling with young children and a multi-generational family group.

We were four adults and three children (ages 11, 11, and 9) on this tour. We were looking for a guide that would make the Colosseum interesting for the kids. We got that in spades with Donato. He was excellent! Not only did he keep the kids engaged but made it interesting for us adults too because he didn't go into excruciating detail like some guides do. I highly recommend using Rome Tours With Kids. We used them in other cities too, like Florence, Pisa, and Venice with different guides, of course. You can't go wrong and we will be using them again when we return to Italy next year with two different groups of friends.

Two families with 4 kids (9-13 years old) total. Julia was an incredible tour guide- challenged the kids with meaningful history and kept them engaged, as well as adults. Also, slowed down and gave us regroup time in the shade when it got hot and energy was low. She also led us through the Vatican the next day so it was great to have her for two days! Great to learn about the Sistine Chapel before going in as there is no talking or pictures in the Chapel. And, we got to skip some big lines with the tour!
We were all fond of Julia!

HI-Do you have a private tour or can you make a tour that is this itinerary plus a private Vatican/Sistine chapel tour for kids and families? Thank you.

Hello, we will be staying at an apartment in Trastevere. Can we be picked up there, or does it have to be at a hotel?

Hello. Will you pickup a family of 9 from the Rome Cavalieri Waldorf Hotel?
Written 18 March 2019
Does the Private Colosseum tour include the lower level also (where general admission won't let you go)? Thanks!
Written 25 January 2019
Our family is staying at the Cavalieri Waldorf Hotel. I am not sure if we would be eligible for a hotel pickup from this site. Thank you in advance for a prompt reply.
I wish to book a tour for 9 people, 5 adults and a 6, 9, 11 and 17 year old.
