The Roman Food Tour in the vibrant Trastevere neighborhood is a must do shortly after arriving in Rome. Our outstanding guide Luisa introduced us to both the foods and wines of Italy, especially Rome. Each stop was unique and showcased local and regional cuisine. Luisa’s colorful commentary demonstrated her vast knowledge of Italian food and wine, and it prepared us for our subsequent visits to Italian eateries and bars. We were glad that we arrived hungry as there was ample food served and wine poured during the evening. The group age ranged from 30’s to 70’s, and everyone was engaged and enjoying the evening.

Such a great experience! We’re staying in the city center of Rome so it was great to get a little outside of the area with someone who knows it so well. Our group was only 11 so it was very easy to participate and engage with everyone. Louisa was an excellent guide and made the experience very fun! The amount and quality of food/wine definitely justify the cost and we highly recommend!

In Rome to go to Italy/England International and had free day before the match booked The Roman Food Tour in Trastevere 5pm Start.
Well what a brilliant evening we had, definitely a must if you are visiting Rome. We met our guide Arianna, who was dead on time, in the Piazza Trilussa where we started our journey. At the first restaurant we were give give Trappizzino’s which were like a pocket of pizza bread with a choice of different fillings and either red or white wine. Arianna and one of the restaurant staff gave very detailed information on both the food and the wines, which there was plenty of.
We then moved on to the next place where we were given a fabulous plate of cold meats and cheeses and of course more wine. At the next venue we were provided a selection of hot dishes and more wine. And of course our last stop was for a gelato.
All along the way our Guide Arianna was providing detailed information on all the food and wines we were provided with and she did it the whole time with a lovely smile and a great sense of humour, she was brilliant.
If ever back in Rome without a doubt would book this tour again.

This one of the highlights of our trip to Rome. We did the food tour on our last night. Food was amazing and our guide Louisa was very knowledgeable on the background of the foods. She made us laugh and brought the group of people from the US, Canada, Ireland and Czech Republic together. Nothing like sharing a great meal with great people. I would strongly recommend.

After reading the reviews, we really wanted to do this tour. It appeared sold out online, so I contacted the company via WhatsApp late in the evening the night before the tour. They were able to book us for the tour we wanted the next day. So accommodating!
The tour did not disappoint! The location and guide were very easy to find. And with the group being larger, they split us into two groups with two guides which worked out great. Our group was lead by Elena, who was beyond wonderful. She was very knowledgeable able the history of Trastevere, Rome, and of each tasting we had. She gave us the history of the wines, meats, cheeses, restaurants, gelato, etc. She was one of the best guides I’ve had on any tour. She was great to talk to, very friendly.
The walking is a minimal amount, maybe maximum of 10 minutes between stops. So this is fit for any traveler. But I do recommend wearing sneakers. The roads are old and with cobblestone. The food portions were perfect, by the pizza and pasta stop I was full lol. Not that I stopped eating, though…. Oh and also the wine! This isn’t your typical tour of one drink here one drink there. The bottles are brought to the table and opened. They are your bottles. Drink as much or as little as you want. The guides and restaurants ensure you have as much as you want.
This tour is a MUST do in Rome. If you do anything at all, do this. And do it early on so you can see the neighborhood and go back!

I’m travelling solo so it can always be a bit nerve wracking to do group activities but Octavia made everyone feel right at home on this food tour. The amount of food we got was so much more than what it would cost you to buy individually and Octavia’s knowledge of the food and Rome was unparalleled which made this a truly unforgettable experience. I would thoroughly recommend.

Marilisa led our 5 PM Trastevere Food Tour and she did a wonderful job introducing us to Italian cuisine and wine. Our family group of four was joined by a newlywed couple, making for a total of six participants, which in my opinion was the perfect size for this type of tour. We did this tour on our first day in Rome and returned to one of the restaurants later that week and the Trastevere area multiple times. Come hungry and have fun!

The food is great in Italy and almost every restaurant serves good food. It’s also not that expensive. That makes this tour at 99 euros not worth it. Although the quality was good the portions were small (the pasta was nothing more than a taste, the tour photo is misleading). Add to that a loud group of Americans ( I am one). The guide Francesca was enthusiastic.
You would be better off going to a really good restaurant and having your server guide you through the cuisine of Italy. You’d have money left over.

Shout out to Francesca that made the tour truly incredible.
It’s true you get food at four different places and get to try four different wines (two white and two red). If you don’t drink they will give you a soft drink. I am vegetarian and they were accommodating on that. They will also keep topping your wine up which is a bonus. You get traditional Italian food, antipasti, pasta, pizza and gelato so well worth it.
The host also tells you all about the food and is very passionate about it. If you are a foodie this is a must. Also if you just like drinking it’s great too.

We did the Roman Food tour with Louisa and thoroughly enjoyed it. She was energetic and clearly had a love for food. We learned a lot about Roman traditional food, but best of all, the food we tried was great and there was a lot of it! This was a sit down restaurant tour (private rooms in each of the stops) where Louisa had the chance to explain to us what we were eating. Oh…and the wine was great too! Definitely take the time to take this tour with Louisa. You won’t regret it!

Hello, this tour says it includes alcoholic beverages, but all I see is wine. There are people in my group who don't drink wine.. is there beer or anything else they can ask for? thank you so much for your response!!

Hi, I can’t remember but I would contact the tour directly and they should be able to help you. I found most tours we took in Rome were very responsive to emails. Also it was a fabulous food tour. My husband and I enjoyed all of it!

Hello,
just wondering what is the name of the restaurant where you eat the pizza/pasta? Don't want to go there on another day if its in the tour. Thank you.

There were several places we ate at and they might change. Best to contact the tour organizers and check. Trapizzino was the first stop. Was amazing!
