Small-Group Pompeii with Amalfi Coast Drive and Positano Stop from Rome
From US$214.22
Overview
Pack two of Italy’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites—the Amalfi Coast and Pompeii—into one day on a tour that includes easy round-trip transport from Rome. Your guide knows the best ways to get around Italy and keep you safe when driving along the twisty, hard-to-navigate roads of the Amalfi Coast, leaving you free to focus on the scenery rather than the roads.
What to Expect
Your Pompeii and Amalfi Coast tour picks you up from central Rome. Hop aboard a climate-controlled vehicle, and get ready for the ride to your first stop of the day—Pompeii.

Once you get to the ancient Roman city, meet up with your guide and learn all about the history yourself as you follow your guide around the ancient ruins.

Afterward, your guide takes you down the roads of the Amalfi Coast on a beautiful vista drive. Your guide is an expert navigator, and heads down the roads easily even with the hairpin turns. Your group stops in Positano, where you can enjoy free time wandering the area. You can eat lunch while you’re there if you choose (own expense).

Your Pompeii and Amalfi Coast tour ends with a ride back to where you started the day in Rome.

Long day

Our guide Khan picked us promptly in the Mercedes SUV. While this vehicle is extremely safe and comfortable it is not a good choice for sightseeing. Anyone not in the front seat has their view restricted by the headrests. Khan provided us information about the...More

Wish it had less time in Positano and more in Pompeii

Overall, I enjoyed this tour. However, the 2 hours and 15 minutes spent in Positano was about an hour too long for me, although it wasn't yet warm enough for swimming, so that may be a great amount of time once summer is in full...More

A very long day, but well worth it!

Our guided tour of Pompeii was absolutely outstanding. We were there in January which means there were no crowds at all. We had time to explore much more than if we were there in peak season. The afternoon in Sorrento was beautiful and scenic. We...More

I think we had a couple of hours. It was enough time for us for lunch and to walk around. If you headed straight to the beach, you could hang out for a little bit.

They stopped in in Cassino both ways. It's about the halfway point (2 hours). The walk in Pompeii is about 2 hours, maybe a mile and a half total. Lots of stopping though so it's not constant or laborious. The walkways are... More
