Go on a food tour of Rome's Testaccio neighborhood, an area many travelers miss out on. You’ll enjoy nine tastings of regional cuisine including pasta, gelato, cheese, and pastries. With a foodie guide to show you the way, you'll visit hidden gems in Rome's culinary epicenter, meet local proprietors, and learn about secret Roman recipes. Plus, go home with a food guidebook to assist with further culinary travels.

What to Expect
Choose a tour time that suits your schedule, and then meet your guide and group at the designated location in Rome's Testaccio neighborhood. It’s the city’s epicenter of food culture, which many travelers and tour groups seem to overlook.

Stop by shops and restaurants that serve authentic Roman food. Visit a bakery for a local treat, and then peruse a food market where you’ll learn how to pick out the best quality produce. You’ll also learn how to make bruschetta and sample some buffalo mozzarella. Other stops include chances to taste gelato, Italian cheese, fresh pasta, wine, and suppli, a fried rice ball.

Your guide will tell you about the neighborhood’s history, culinary and otherwise. Stop at the Protestant cemetery, burial place of John Keats, and see one of the city's only pyramids.

Return to your starting point and go home with a food guidebook to use on the rest of your stay.

I did a night walking tour and it was three hours. 5.30 pm to 8.30pm. We probably stayed on for another half hour chatting as our guide Francesco was so interesting and we had a lovely group.

Our group was 5 couples with their 3 kids. We had 13 in our group which I thought was a perfect number. 21 may be a lot . Check your options on group size.
