Tuscany in One Day Sightseeing Tour from Rome

Overview
If you have time for just one side trip from Rome, make it Tuscany. Leave the transportation and logistics to someone else on this guided exploration of the Val d’Orcia region. You can simply relax and enjoy a walking tour of Montepulciano, a stop at Sant’Antimo Abbey, along with free time to stroll and shop in UNESCO-listed Pienza. Fuel up with an included 3-course lunch and wine tasting.
What to Expect
Board an air-conditioned coach in central Rome, and journey into the rolling countryside of Tuscany’s Val d’Orcia region.

Stop first at Montepulciano, a 15th-century hill town famed for its Vino Nobile di Montepulciano red wine. Hear about its wine heritage on a walking tour, seeing highlights such as the clock tower, cathedral, and town walls.

Next, venture into the area around Montalcino. Visit Sant’Antimo Abbey and gaze across the vineyards as you hear how their grapes are used in Brunello di Montepulciano wine. Head to a farm and enjoy a glass of Brunello with a 3-course lunch. Other select local wines are also available.

Next up is Pienza, one of Tuscany’s UNESCO-listed treasures. Here, spend your free time exploring the historical center, designed by Pope Pius II in the mid-1400s. If you’re a foodie, hit the shops to buy Pienza’s coveted pecorino cheese.

Your Tuscany tour then finishes with a drop-off in Rome.

Montepulciano and Pienza

Great trip!

We wanted to visit Tuscany without having to make a separate hotel accommodation and travel to a new spot from Rome. This was a great compromise. Kylie was a great guide for the day. If you get a chance, do the cheese/oil/vinegar tasting in Pienza....More

This was a truly memorable trip into the beautiful countryside of Tuscany visiting ancient walled towns, churches and a vineyard. Our tour guide, Peter, gave us a potted history of the Roman Empire which covered most of a university degree course in Ancient History. This...More

Hi, we traveled in a bus and I think there were between 30 and 40 people. On one of the stops we were divided into two smaller groups which made it very personal.

I don't believe that would be a problem if it is very small once collapsed. There were overhead spaces in the bus we were in so stroller might fit there. Keep in mind, these spaces are not as big as those on a plane. If... More
