Stop at the Vatican Paintings Gallery and admire Caravaggio’s Deposition from the Cross, Da Vinci’s unfinished St. Jerome, and Raphael’s Transfiguration.
Continue to the Chiaramonti Museum and Octagonal Courtyard, where you have time to see the ancient sculpture, Laocoön and His Sons.
Next head to the Bramante Staircase, a rarely visited architectural gem once used by the pope and Vatican staff. Snap a photo of the spiral staircase, then visit the Gregorian Etruscan Museum. From there, visit Raphael’s four rooms, famous for their frescoes. Make the required stops at the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica.
The tour ends just outside St. Peter’s Basilica.
