Explore Vatican City, with time-saving skip-the-line access, in the company of a guide. Visit the Vatican Museums (admission ticket price not included), the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica in a single, half-day walking tour. Get insider info on these must-see Rome attractions through your guide’s commentary, guaranteed to reveal little-known facts.
What to Expect
Choose a start time that fits your schedule, and then meet your guide outside the entrance to the Vatican Museums. Skip waiting in the often-long lines for tickets and pay your guide directly for admission (not included in tour price).

Step inside and begin your tour. Your guide will narrate an orientation and give in-depth commentary on the highlights of the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel as you walk.

Explore Raphael’s Rooms, and hear stories behind works such as the School of Athens, a piece that features images of Michelangelo and Raphael. Pass through halls such as the Gallery of the Masks and Gallery of the Maps. Then, make your way into the Sistine Chapel. A sacred spot and the private papal chapel, the Sistine Chapel is also renowned for its Michelangelo frescoes—The Last Judgement and The Creation of Adam.

Continue to St. Peter’s Basilica, where you'll see Michelangelo’s famous La Pietà. Before wrapping up your tour outside the church, take a moment to rub the foot of the statue of St. Peter for luck.

Opt to upgrade your experience with a before-hours, small-group tour or an after-hours tour (St. Peter's Basilica not included), when the premises are closed to the public.

Great tour!

I couldn’t really fault our tour guide. She was incredibly nice and pleasant and made everyone welcome. She was full of knowledge. Our queue times were minimal. The tour itself was very interesting and doesn’t disappoint.

Beyond worth it!

Within 20 minutes of meeting our guide we were in the Vatican museum., meaning we skipped what was easily a 2 hour wait. We had a great guide, saw everything and got more out of this visit then we ever would have on our own.

Great skip the line feature and guide but would recommend upgrading to smaller group

Overall I enjoyed this tour and learned a lot! Pros definitely included skipping the line, I heard that the summer months were the busiest and didn't think it would be too crowded in April but I was so wrong! It was very busy when we...More

Revelation of riches

Reveals the wealth of history, art and religious artifacts of the Vatican. As casual visitors, we only scratched the surface, to become aware that there is more than enough for the serious student of history, art and religious artifacts. Our audio guides were excellent, giving...More

Didn’t even pause to let us look

My family and I decided to take this tour because of the obvious skip the line feature. The skip the line feature was great. The skip the line line was moving a lot faster than the other. However, once we got inside, our tour guide...More

Have not done that tour because we lived in Rome. The stairway is quite long and spirals up; however, the view(s) make it worthwhile. Camera, good lens, a must!
