          A lovely day on Capri
Federico captained our small group from Sorrento to Capri and back. We had a lovely trip. He made sure we knew all the important details, and some fun facts, about the sea and the Island. Although we were three separate couples when we boarded Federico made sure we all enjoyed our time on the boat. Definitely a day well spent.

Best day of our trip so far!!
Frederico was our captain and guide after his teammate was sick and he did not disappoint! He managed to do both just fine. He was informative, fun, and a great guide. The views were stunning and seeing Capri during the offseason proved to be worth it. The tour itself was the perfect length, we got to see everything, and it went smoothly even though the Blue Grotto was too choppy to enter (which just gave us more quality time on Capri).

          Awesome trip!
This trip was AWESOME! There were only 7 of us on the boat. Gegorio was a very knowledgeable and very considerate/kind driver and guide. He took us around the whole island and gave us plenty of free time. You can take the bus or a taxi to the towns of Capri and Anacapri. Make sure to have 10 euro for the fee when you check in and money for bus or taxi. They gave us a very tasty sandwich and drinks. We also did a Limoncello shot! I highly recommend this tour. Much better than taking the big ferry. BEAUTIFUL!!!

          11/10 IF I COULD
This was one of the best experiences my friends and I have had. We are 6 Americans studying abroad in Spain and chose to visit Sorrento for our spring break. We booked the first day of the season and ended up getting a private tour. The captain and the assistant were AMAZING. The captain asked us every time if we wanted the boat to stop for us to go swimming and gave us a history lesson of every single cave. We didn't have lunch since we planned to get it at Capri but, the assistant surprised us with wonderful sandwiches. They even helped us get private transportation on the island. 10/10 would recommended to anybody especially those who want to do something a bit more spontaneous.

A full day taking in the Amalfi coast.
Federico was an excellent captain for the day. The trip was fantastic. We enjoyed a full day along the coast and into Amalfi. We even managed to stop and have an hours chill time in a sunny cove where we swam in the sea. Federico was very known and accommodating to us. We had endless Prosecco and snacks as well. Would 100% recommend this trip.

          Amalfi Coast Day Trip
The staff of "you know" made seeing the Amalfi Coast a great experience. Our group was picked up in Sorrento and taken to the port where we were greeted by Frederico, our skipper. He took our group on an all day excursion in which we saw many scenic places. Frederico shared the history and legends of these sites. We ported in Amalfi and had a wonderful time shopping and snacking. We capped our time in Nerano, at a restaurant that Frederico recommended called il Cantuccio. The food and staff were exceptional. I highly recommend this excursion as a scenic and relaxing way to see the Amalfi Coast.

          February boat tour
Amazing trip with Federico! Showed us all the amazing sites, and we had the sea to ourselves. Even anchored for a bit and had a swim. 10/10

Private Winter Day Trip to Capri
Federico was our captain for the day. We were so lucky to be able to take the boat tour from Sorrento on the second day of January. He picked us up the port and was able to help our mom with limited mobility due to her knee replacement get on the boat very easily. We had the entire boat to ourselves for our day trip to Capri. The captain taught us so much about the culture and history of Sorrento & Capri. His love for his country and boating comes through in all he does on the boat for the guests. He offered us snacks, champagne, and other soft drinks while we were on board, which was nice as we went to Capri. We were dropped off in Capri where we had several hours to walk around taking the and taking lunch. It truly was a beautiful day. I can’t recommend this company enough for the professionalism And experience overall. We will be back soon.❤️

Great views, cuisine and shopping. All the ingredients for a relaxing Italian holiday.
This was our first visit to Capri and we were pleasantly surprised by some of the unique features in this town. Narrow streets with no cars. Only electric vehicles that are about a meter wide. A Funicular gets you there from the ferry docks and the cobblestone streets are lined with shops, restaurants and beautiful hotels. Also, make sure you visit Ana Capri as well for it has more affordable shopping and a different vibe than Capri.

Our guide was Ursula. She was fantastic. We toured Capri and Anacapri from I think sorrento. Pickup was included from positano. Everything went smoothly.

Beautiful Boat Tour Along the Coast of Sorrento & Capri
Our tour was back in July, so I’m a little late posting this review, but I couldn’t miss the chance to share how incredible this experience was! This boat tour was the absolute highlight of our entire Italy trip and far exceeded our expectations. Ross (“Happy Man”) and Francesco (“Francis”) were fantastic hosts, and I would 100% recommend them to anyone planning a Sorrento or Capri boat tour while visiting Italy. They truly made the experience unforgettable, and we’re so grateful to have had them as our guides. Although we were staying in Positano, YouKnow Boat Tours offered a convenient shuttle service to and from the departure site in Sorrento, which made the logistics stress-free. Since our tour was in the heat of July, the swimming stops, refreshments, and snacks were a lifesaver! The music on board set the perfect vibe, and everyone in our group was having an amazing time. While our tour didn’t stop at the Blue Grotto, we didn’t feel like we missed out at all. We explored other stunning grottos, even venturing inside one, which was just as magical. This was hands-down the most breathtaking boat ride of my life, and I can’t imagine anything ever topping it. My fiancé and I had a wonderful time meeting others in our group all coming from different areas of the world, and Ross was so informative throughout the journey. As a local, he shared great insights about the area and even gave us helpful transportation tips when we arrived in Capri. We had plenty of time to explore the island and checked off our top priority: the chairlift in Anacapri. Afterward, we reunited with the group for a scenic ride back to Sorrento, complete with one last refreshing swim. The tour ended on a perfect note with a limoncello toast. When I return to Italy, this boat tour will absolutely be at the top of my list again, and I hope to see Ross and Francesco once more. Thank you for an incredible experience!

          Best Experience
Luisa and Federico were our captain and guides and they made the trip amazing! We had so much fun touring the coastlines and seeing all the grottos. The weather wasn’t the best but they did great navigating and still giving us a great time! It was great going with just a small group and during the off season when there was no one else around. We enjoyed visiting capri and anacapri. Make sure you take the chairlift while you’re there! Amazing views

          Beautiful views!
This was a fabulous tour and I would highly recommend it. The views are gorgeous and the day at sea was amazing. The two stops in town were equally nice, but would have liked a little more time in town to explore.

          Friendly, fun, informative, helpful team.
We were immediately made to feel welcome. The trip was fun, informative, friendly. And both of the boat team were so keen to help. We felt very well prepared when we landed on Capri. And we were well looked after on the return. We saw some amazing caves, bays, waterfalls and more

We had a wonderful day with this trip. Our skipper Pepe and host Yana looked after us and did everything they could to make our trip the best experience. They gave us great local advice and tips about Capri. The boat is a very nice boat. Pepe has a great sense of humour singing “Baby shark” as we jumped in for a swim. We were given a delicious roll with mozarella and tomato. This saved us spending time finding something to eat with the limited time we had on Capri. We also enjoyed drinks, snacks, limoncello and an Italian treat. I highly recommend this trip. It is everything they advertise. My only wish was to have had more time on Capri. 3.5 hours isn’t much time when the island is so busy and you have to queue for everything. We went up the chairlift in Anacapri to Monte Solaro and by the time we waited for the bus from Anacapri to Capri, we only had 45mins left. And we had to allow time to wait for the bus to get back to the marina to get the boat.
I have mixed feelings about the Blue Grotto. The entry fee €18 is pricey for the 3mins you are in the grotto and they insist on a tip €10pp on top of the entry fee. But it was beautiful to see. We also passed by all the sights as advertised. Those who wanted to be showered under the cascatella waterfall at Cala di Mitigliano could sit at the front of the boat whilst Pepe skillfully manoeuvred the boat.
Thank you Yana and Pepe for making our day so memorable. We truly had a wonderful experience.

Such an amazing trip!! The team Ross & Frank were the absolute best and made what was already a beautiful place even more beautiful and fun! I highly recommend this tour and this company, they had outstanding customer service and truly not one thing was left unplanned from them. The views were stunning and they gave us just the right amount of time on the island! There is time for pictures and a swim so make sure to bring your swimsuit! In Capri you will also have time to do their famous cable car and grab a bite to eat in capri if you'd like. The company does provide drinks and some food though, so if you just wanted to enjoy the island don't worry, you can do that and still get a sandwich and fruits on the tour. Capri is a beautiful island but from what we had heard transportation can get tricky and pricey fast, thankfully for Ross he gave us tips and recommended a great transport bus for only 20 euros for the day. Boat was the perfect size and having the small group makes it that much more memorable. Frank was a great captain, we had such a smooth sailing. Again, could not recommend this company and sailing duo more!! Just book the trip and enjoy the bubbles!

Beautiful views, a great (and comfortable) boat, and great staff (Giovani and Raphael; Raphael was particularly helpful and friendly). We spent a little more time on Capri than we anticipated (approx 4 hours) which could have been more time spent checking out different swimming spots around Capri (we only got one swim in). Our visit to the Blue Grotto was very rushed and felt quite transactional. The snacks and drinks offered were great. Would absolutely recommend it if you want to visit Capri but not if you're primarily booking the tour to snorkel and swim.

Disclaimer: Weather affects the experience drastically which is out of the tour operators control of course.

My husband and I booked this tour as one of our activities on our honeymoon while in Sorrento. We wanted a more private tour, but didn’t want to spend a ridiculous amount of money of a boat just for ourselves so we decided a small group would be best. This tour had great reviews for the most part and seemed like a great full day trip that packed a lot of things into one tour.

Unfortunately the day we had the tour it was really windy so the water was really choppy. The day before our tour they actually had to cancel the boat tours because the water was too rough. It must’ve calmed down a little bit the day we went so they didn’t cancel (maybe they should’ve though).

From the beginning there was a lot of waiting. We waited for transportation, then we were dropped off along with other people where we had to wait even longer before we walked down to the water. It was a decent walk to get down the water, including an elevator ride which wasn’t a big deal for us but might want to keep in mind if you have any mobility issues. Once we got down to the water we had to wait again until everyone bought a 5 euro docking fee ticket (so keep that in mind too). Then we were able to board our boat.

All the stops they mention are very, very quick and there wasn’t much of a tour in terms of them explaining anything to us. They would just pull into a cove or a grotto area long enough for you to take a few pictures, then you would leave. We had to stay in the back of our boat in the seats because it was too choppy for us to sit in the front of the boat. They also give us drinks on the boat, but the water was too choppy to even drink it, plus a bunch of sea water would splash up onto us and into our drinks.

Out of 5-6 small boats, our boat was the only one that was able to see the blue grotto because it was on the choppier side of the island and everyone on the other boats was throwing up. It seemed kind of dangerous how rough the water was out there but our captain was a sea fisherman so we just put our faith in his skills lol. Also since it had rained a lot this year, the blue grotto was closed and you could barely see the opening since the water level was so high.

In retrospect, my husband and I both agreed that we probably would’ve been able to spend more time in Capri if we just ferried over to the island. We didn’t think the cost of the tour was worth the experience we got that day, however, we do realize a lot of that was likely because of the weather and how rough the waters were.

Pros of the tour: I’m sure it would’ve been much better if the weather was better. The captain was funny and the rest of our group was amazing! They did give us Prosecco, sandwiches, a little cake, and limoncello. The boats themselves were very nice.

If you’re looking at booking a boat tour, I would just hold off on booking until a few days before just to make sure the weather is nice and the waters will be calm. Otherwise take the ferry to Capri!

Dear Y6484J, Thank you very much for your detailed feedback. We truly appreciate you sharing your experience with us, as every comment helps us understand our guests' perspectives and make improvements where possible. We’re sorry that the choppy weather impacted your tour. As you mentioned, the weather can greatly affect the experience, and while we’d love to control it, our main priority is always the safety and comfort of our guests. On the day of your tour, we carefully assessed conditions and decided to operate only because it was absolutely safe. We put a lot of effort into ensuring our clients' safety and well-being, and our captains are highly skilled in managing a range of sea conditions. However, we understand that even with these measures, choppy waters can make the experience less enjoyable. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the company of the captain and your fellow travelers and that you appreciated the onboard treats and the quality of the boat itself. Thank you once again for your thoughtful insights, and we hope that on a future visit, we might have the chance to welcome you back in calmer seas to deliver the five-star experience you deserve. Wishing you all the best in your future travels!

My family of 5 booked the capri & Blue Grotto boat tour for small groups (max 8 people) for our last day in Italy. It was an absolute disaster. First, the tour company called the day before asking if we wouldn't mind moving the tour to two hours later, to 9:30 instead of our scheduled 7:30. Fine, we slept in, no problem. When we got there, we waited for our boat for another hour and a half, not leaving until 11am. At this time, it starts to rain and thunderstorm. I asked if it was still safe to go and they assured me it was. Then we are placed in a boat with 4 people, even though we paid for a maximum of 8. Again- fine, wasn’t going to make a big deal of it. As we start the boat ride it starts to rain HARD, along with thunder and lightning. Big waves in the ocean and it was nauseating. Everyone on board was getting sick. At one point, we looked at the other family in terror as we all thought this small boat was going to capsize in the ocean. When we get to the blue grotto, there was a line of boats. What they don’t tell you is that you need to pay AN EXTRA $18 euros a person, along with a $30 Euro tip if you want to access this and avoid the hour wait. We did as it was terrible weather and did not want to stay rocking in a boat in line. Total waste of time and money. Going inside the grotto was about 5 minutes. Not worth it. Then we skipped the snorkeling and tour to other sites because the weather and ocean were unsafe. They dropped us off at capri in the pouring down rain and said they’d pick us up in 3 hours. Seriously???? We ended up just staying at a restaurant in the marina for 3 hours watching the rain and lightning. I called the company and asked how it is they can justify charging us for this tour when 1- they did not deliver anything we signed up for, and more importantly- put my family at risk in unsafe sea conditions. They said they would give us a 30% refund, to which we agreed. They have not given my refund yet and are ignoring my calls and messages. I would absolutely not recommend this company. Unsafe and ZERO integrity. The captain and tour guide were nice and pleasant and tried their best considering the awful weather conditions, but this doesn’t make up for the fact they acknowledged it was unsafe, promised a partial refund and did not give us one.

Dear Lisa, Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience and the challenges you faced during the tour. Please allow us to address your concerns. First and foremost, the safety of our customers is always our top priority. The decision to proceed with the tour was made because the conditions at the time were deemed safe by our experienced team. However, we acknowledge that the rain turned out to be much heavier than predicted, and we sincerely regret the discomfort and logistical issues that arose as a result. Unfortunately, weather is something we cannot control, but we understand how it affected your day. Regarding the Blue Grotto, we’d like to clarify that the tour description specifies that the entrance fee to the Blue Grotto is not included and must be paid on-site. As for tips, the Blue Grotto staff often requests them, but these are not mandatory and are entirely at the discretion of visitors. As for the refund, we can confirm that the agreed 30% refund was processed shortly after the tour—on July 1, to be exact. We are sorry for the delay in processing your refund, this was due to internal organization reasons and we are doing our best to optimize our processes so that we can make everything faster, even during such busy times as the high season. We hope this gesture demonstrated our sincere effort to apologize and to make amends for the disappointment you experienced. We’re deeply sorry that your day did not go as planned and that we fell short of providing the experience you hoped for. We appreciate your feedback and will use it to continue improving. Our best wishes and kindest regards!

Boat itself was lovely, clean and welcoming. Unfortunately, it very obvious they don't want you to go to the blue grotto and put a lot of pressure on you to agree to skip it. They kept saying it was our choice and they would wait if anyone wanted to go but would also piled on how long you have to wait (also not really advised before hand that the wait can be more than 2 hours), that you have to tip the staff and that it isn't worth visiting. We felt very on the spot and so joined others in saying it was okay to move on. Despite it really being the only reason we chose this tour. They did stop for a few swimming spots, only one on the way out and then two on the way back. These were the best bits. They threw fish food into the water so there were loads of fish which was cool. I don't know if we had just misunderstood the point of the trip but really it was just a boat taxi to Capri with a few swimming stops. We had no idea we were spending 4 hours on Capri, which for us was far longer than we needed or wanted. On Capri the cable car was really great and the view from the top brilliant. Restaurant at the top is worth a visit too. We weren't prepared for how expensive Capri was either. We didn't get dropped off anywhere near a beach or anywhere to swim so you get taken to the bus stops where you're again basically told you can use public bus but they're really unreliable or a taxi which is far too expensive or private bus (which was still €20 per person). The trip back on the boat was better, they played some music and we all had drinks. The staff of the boat were very friendly and polite, we just felt like the trip wasn't what we wanted or expected. And we were very disappointed that we felt pressured into missing the grotto. I didn't think the trip was worth the money when we could have gone to the dock and found a cheaper local one that would have been more our speed.

Dear Lilyvisits, Thank you for sharing such detailed feedback with us. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the boat itself, the swimming stops, and the beautiful views on Capri. However, we’re very sorry to hear that the experience didn’t fully align with your expectations, particularly regarding the Blue Grotto. The wait time for the Blue Grotto can indeed be quite long during the high season, due to its immense popularity and we try to be upfront about this on the day of the tour so guests can make an informed decision. We apologize if this came across as pressure to skip it; our intention is simply to provide guests with all the information available. We will be reviewing this with our staff, to improve our communication on the topic. Regarding the time spent on Capri, please note that this is specified in the tour description on both our website and the platforms where our tours are available, such as Viator. We aim for transparency, and we’re sorry if this wasn’t as clear as expected. We’re actively working to improve our descriptions to manage expectations and create a more satisfying experience. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts. We hope that despite this, you had memorable moments on your trip, and we wish you all the best!

Our whole trip to Italy (Oct 2022) can be summed as "rarely met expectations". The Blue Grotto is an example. It was held out as "we probably will not be able to do it..." for assorted reasons: tide, weather, staff, etc and then miraculously, we are able to go. A larger boat took us from town to the Grotto area where were loaded into very small boats (3 -4 passengers plus the rower/tour guide). The reason for small boats soon became clear when we "lined up" outside the entrance to the grotto/cave. There were 30 + boats bobbing around waiting to get in and another bunch leaving. Not great if you have a tendency to sea sickness. Our guide explained that he expected a "fee" of 20+ Euros per person even though we had paid for the tour in advance.
After about 45 minutes, it was our time. Our guide took the boat to the small cave entrance and told us to all lie flat as possible so as not to hit our head. We only had 3 people (my wife wisely stayed on the large boat) so had a little more room. A boat exited the cave and he paddled up to a rope, grabbed it and then rapidly pulled us through the holes in about 5 seconds.
We were then in the grotto. It was dark but pleasant. Quiet with about 5 other boats. The water was a light blue as sunlight from a small hole in the roof of the cave came in and reflected off the water. I took a few photos (flash and no flash) and then it was time to leave after about 5 minutes and we reversed the procedure although that wait was only 5 minutes. Ten minutes later I was aboard the larger boat-glad to be finished.

The best way to see the Island!

The open air speed boat really enhances the approach and tour around Capri, our boat had a soft top so we sat up in front. Definitely preferred experience over the Ferry if you are just sightseeing but you will be in a windy situation so secure hats and other loose items!

On the shore, I would recommend taking a short bus or taxi trip up to AnaCapri for the shore leave (forget about going by foot), and eat in town square. Skip the main Capri village unless you can avoid the peak sightseeing crowd as its mostly luxury stores and overpriced tourism easily available in other cosmopolitan areas.

Some of our fellow boat passengers returned to the charter early and I wish, if anything we had done so as well, so we could depart an hour earlier. If only to spend more time on the water. Jumping off the boat into the clear sea water was very memorable. Stopping at Blue Grotto in the morning was worth the stop for us, but only depending on how busy it is and of course tidal conditions. We were very lucky and waited no more than 10 minutes to see it. The blue grotto ferrymen (you have to be rowed in a separate boat from the charter) will solicit for an additional cash tip, so be prepared when you go in the boat if you plan to do so. They may sing for you in the grotto.

Our main captain and First mate were very conversational throughout and offered us complimentary refreshments (beer, limoncello, waters) and caprese sandwiches and fruit salad in the afternoon. Simple but refreshing after a hot day!

Our family of 6 had a great day on the Capri and Blue Grotto Small Group Boat trip from Sorrento with Francesca as our day trip leader. She was very friendly and offered us snacks and drinks throughout the day. It was very crowded at the Blue Grotto, but she did a great job securing us a boat to enter the grotto, no easy feat with so many others trying to do the same. She explained the various sites we saw throughout the day and helped us navigate our time on the island of Capri as efficiently as possible. Great day overall and highly recommend this You Know! tour.

We went on this boat trip via GetYourGuide, and from start to finish, it was a wonderful experience. Antonio was incredibly welcoming and professional, guiding us thoroughly on our journey to Capri. At every stop, he shared unique stories about the place, which we cherished as little treasures. Throughout the trip, we were treated to a variety of drinks, fresh fruits, and delicious mozzarella breads. And, of course, we can’t forget the delightful limoncello!

The captain was also a highlight of the trip, keeping us entertained with his charismatic personality and beautiful singing voice. The combination of stunning views, great company, and excellent service made this excursion unforgettable. Overall, our experience was a perfect 10/10, and we highly recommend this boat trip to anyone looking to explore Capri in a unique and enjoyable way.
