the trip itself was great however upon returning to the tour office we saw there was a sale on a tour for the next day so we signed up. we later that same day realized that we were not going to be able to go because we could not get a train that left late . we returned to the office the next day cuz the office was closed .we explained what happened ,i realize our miscalculation was not their fault but being the ticket was last minute and it wasn't like they had to turn someone else away because of us... feels like since we had purchased 1 tour they could have refunded at least part of it -policy aside ,seems like poor customer relations for Julia travel . I know i will not go back because of this

Poor instructions or miscommunication as to how to meet the guide. Somehow at least 8 of us registered at the tour office and then failed to find the guide. The tickets at the tour office look like palace entry tickets but are not. Somehow we were allowed entry to the palace grounds with these tickets. We called the tour office and got no help or support as to where the guide might be. If we missed the tour it was our fault. No refund! One would think that 8 people would be a big enough group to merit some effort by the tour company/guide to locate us. Everyone has cell phones these days. We waited for awhile to see if the guide would find us but that didn’t happen so we went to the palace building on our own. When we presented the tickets that weren’t tickets we caused a big commotion as it’s somewhat of a security breech. The palace folks were easily able to locate our guide who was already well into the tour. She came down and got us. We missed part of the tour but the rest was good and she was a good informative guide. The palace people could have kicked us out and we’d have to buy entry tickets ourselves. It ended up working out but not from any effort by the tour company.

Enrique was so knowledgeable. Amazing tour. Great English, great Spanish. Recommend it to everyone. Great for the price. A must to do. Once inside there is so much to see, you would not know what it is if it wasn't for the tour guides knowledge.

The guides information about the Royal Palace. Her talk was monotonous
She didn’t know anything about the art or furnishings
Anything we asked outside of her preview she was unable to answer
It was the most boring 1 1/2 hour tour I have ever taken
I was so grateful when the tour ended.

This was money wasted. The English speaking guide was not interested and certainly not interesting. Took more than 50 minutes to start the tour. Couldn’t answer most of the questions asked of what seemed to be very important parts of the palace. kept saying he didn’t know!
Much better to buy one’s own ticket with their video/audio guide. And MUCH cheaper.
No concession ticket is available on the booking form but plenty of concessional prices if bought directly.
Left us feeling we had wasted our money and time.

We took the English part of the bilingual tour. I speak enough Spanish to know that our guide was providing more information to the Spanish speaking side. Also would appreciate more history as part of it.

The tour guide was friendly but did not engage the participants well at all. The info provided was interesting but barely more than what was given on the placards inside the palace itself. The guide also kept walking away and simply stating the name of the next room without engaging with or paying attention to the followers. The guide also made several comments about the over the top lifestyle of the royal family without showing an appreciation of the splendor and accomplishments of the place we had chosen to visit. I think we would have done just as well to tour on our own. This is frustrating because when choosing a local guide we love to interact and learn new things about a place and a culture that you can’t find on a placard.

Excellent tour with a lovely guide. We were a group of six with some members speaking English only and others more fluent in Spanish, the guide spoke both language and translated for the Spanish speakers. I highly recommend!

Good guide but the Audio Units were cheap and could not hear much . We went through all 25 rooms in about an hour . We did skip the big line but we still had to wait 20-25 minutes in the group line . The palace is very interesting but they don’t let you take pictures ( no logical reason , perhaps so you buy their guide book ).

We did indeed skip the line but immediately made a beeline for the kitchens and pretty much things fell apart from that point onward. I do not recall any gardens being included whatsoever. I observed that this company tends to vary the itinerary as they see fit. It might be worth asking what is to be included once you skip the line? As I recall the guides were pretty adept at not answering such questions and equally evasive when tour participants asked about seeing something other than the kitchens.
