About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- betsyr4720 contributionsExcellent Jewish history tours of Girona and Besalu. Our tour guide was Mike, and he was a wealth of knowledge, and so much fun. Half way through the tour we stopped for lunch. Mike’s suggestions for restaurants was excellent. Regarding the tour itself, learning about the 1,000 year history and extensive contributions of the Jewish people in Girona and Besalu was eye-opening. It was disturbing to learn of the persecution and ghettoization of the Jewish people through the centuries, in spite of the fact that they were financial advisors and physicians to the elite of Spanish society. Particularly moving was the beauty of these two Medieval cities. Walking the narrow, winding streets was like being in a Time Machine. Our guide filled us in on the religious history of the cities, both Christian and Jewish. We saw where the synagogues used to be, and at the end of the tour, we visited the Jewish History museum of Girona. Fascinating! Our guide’s breadth of information was breathtaking. Suggestions: Bring good walking shoes!Written 13 September 2024
- KingRoute660 contributionsDali, Cadaqués & Cap de CruzPeter was our tour guide and Alex our driver, we were lucky enough to have the tour to ourselves, Peter was so informative and knowledgeable and we learnt so much during the course of the day. All delivered with interest and good humour. We couldn’t recommend more highly. Alex was also a superb driver throughout the day. Book now!Written 9 September 2024
- BobofSM0 contributionsWonderful GIRONA Jewish Quarter and Jewish History Museum TourOur guide, Ona, was terrific. The tour included much of the Old City in addition to the Jewish Quarter. I had wondered, in advance, why we would want a tour guide to take us through the Jewish Museum when we could read the explanations accompanying the exhibits on our own. I was wrong. Ona’s extensive knowledge of Jewish history and the stories behind the exhibits made the experience far more interesting and informative than it would have been without her. Similarly, her stories about the Jewish Quarter brought it to life in a way we couldn’t have experienced on our own.Written 9 September 2024
- neonl1570 contributionsBeautiful tour with a very knowledgeable and charming guide! Highly recommendMy partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Miguel, who impressed us with his huge wealth of knowledge and love of his city! He is (in his own words) both a history and Game of Thrones nerd, and it really shows as he easily answered every question that was fired at him, no matter the subject. I would highly recommend this tour for Game of Thrones fans and non-fans alike. We got hundreds of photos, I wish I could post them all 😬Written 8 September 2024
- Wendy D0 contributionsHighly recommend for GoT fans!We had a brilliant guide called Miguel who we were thrilled to learn had been an extra in GoT season 6! Very knowledge and entertaining tour of all the GoT scenes in Girona with a lovely small group of people. Would highly recommend.Written 7 September 2024
- Scot11100 contributionsPerfect Day OutA great experience visiting the small picturesque medieval towns - Besalu, Santa Pau, Castellfollit De La Roca - hiking up a volcano and having a 4 course lunch, and to finish off, a short stroll along the Banyoles lake. The towns were what I was most looking forward to and they surely did not disappoint! What a stunning part of the country steeped in so much history! Our guide Pete did not stutter in telling us all about the history here, he was perfect, charismatic, funny, and very passionate about the historical and present day Catalonia! If ever we are back in Girona this company will be first choice for exploring! Save the Castle! Thanks for a great day Pete! Ailsa & ChristianWritten 6 September 2024
- TerryOAZ0 contributionsHighly recommendedA thoroughly enjoyable tour! Pete our guide was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and great company. We learned so much about Dalí and his works but also the region and its economy. Carme was also lovely patiently driving us around. The tour was professional and efficiently organized.Written 5 September 2024
- OsuOnu0 contributionsGame of Thrones-MiguelOur guide Miguel did a wonderful job on the Game of Thrones tour. He is very knowledgeable and knew a lot about Girona and Game of Thrones. He also is very funny. he was patient with all of us and pointed out many, many amazing things. It was a great tour and you would be lucky to have Miguel as your guide.Written 3 September 2024
- Erd340000 contributionsAmazing Private tour of Jewish Girona. Fascinating and well informed.Miguel gave our family including 2 teens and an 11 year old) a private tour of the Jewish history in Girona. Miguel was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging-and extremely passionate about the topic. We are pretty well informed about Jewish history and we learned a ton. Even our children were engaged. Thank you Miguel for an amazing tour!Written 1 September 2024
- Elizabeth L0 contributionsGirona GoT walking tour.We had an excellent walking tour today. Eduardo was interesting and informative. I especially liked the clips from GoT he showed on his laptop. He was kind enough to make contact the day before and that made contact on the day really easy.Written 31 August 2024
- Yaron G0 contributionsGirona - Jewish history tourWe had an exceptional experience on this tour, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Mike, our guide, possesses an impressive depth of knowledge about the Jewish history of Girona. His passion and expertise truly brought the rich history of the area to life. My son and I were captivated by the stories and insights he shared, which made the history accessible and engaging for both of us. Mike’s ability to weave historical facts with compelling narratives made the tour not only educational but also genuinely enjoyable. We walked away with a much deeper understanding and appreciation of Girona’s Jewish heritage, and the experience was a highlight of our visit. If you’re looking to delve into the Jewish history of this beautiful city, Mike is the perfect guide to take you on that journey.Written 31 August 2024

- 566chandraf0 contributionsA Quality Tour You Won't ForgetThis tour took us on a remarkable journey of not only GOT but Girona. Pete is an exceptional guide who is compelling and interesting. As an added benefit to the GOT backstory, his depth of knowledge was very insightful with an honest look into his town's history. I could appreciate his truthfulness, critical viewpoint and love the Girona and Spain. You absolutely must wear comfortable and walkable shoes that can withstand cobblestone and concrete. There are steep steps and a good walking workout but the payoff is spectacular views and intimate knowledge of history, GOT and HBO. Bring water, breathable clothes, a pair of sunglasses and a willingness to learn. You will not regret it.Written 27 August 2024

- Sheila S0 contributionsPort Lligat, Cadaqués & FigueresWe were met by our guide Pere and driver Alex at our hotel and taken on an extraordinary journey through the Catalan countryside to Port Lligat, the home of Salvador Dali and his wife, Gala. Then we drove to nearby Cadaqués, a picturesque fishing village. Dali’s home is a must if you want an insight into this extraordinary but flawed man. We then drove to Figueres for lunch and a visit to the Dali museum which is a tour de force of the beautiful and outrageous creations of Dali and should not be missed by any art enthusiast. Pere guided us with such tremendous enthusiasm and amazing knowledge and was able to point out fascinating details of Dali’s art work that without his input, would have passed us by. We learnt a great deal about Dali, the man, his art and his importance to the Surrealist movement. Highly recommend this tour and if you’re lucky, Pere will be your guide.Written 21 August 2024

We had a wonderful time on our small group walking tour! Monica was a funny and engaging tour guide and realyy brought the history of Girona to life. We would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Girona for the first time -- in addition to being a fun way to spend a morning, this tour added so much context and rich details to our Girona visit.

This tour started out a bit rocky. We were supposed to have another tour to start at 10:30. The tour company contacted us and told us they wouldn’t have they tour - would we be interested in the one at 3:00? Although we were driving back to Tarragona that day, we really wanted to take the tour, so we agreed. We were at the meeting point early, so we sat to have a drink at the local cafe. Our tour guide, Max, texted me to say he would be about 20 minutes late (issues with the bus). I told him that was fine, that we were already there at the Konig cafe. We walked over to the meeting point at about 15 minutes after and sat on the benches and waited … at about 3:30, I looked over and saw a guide talking to people. I looked at the text profile picture, from the text I received, and saw that it was our guide talking. He had started the tour without us. There were only four people there, so it wasn’t a big group. He just hadn’t thought to text me, or ask who we were, or if we were part of that group, so we missed the introductory part of the tour. I gave it four stars because, after a rocky start, Max did turn out to be a good guide. We walked throughout the city and saw so many parts that we probably would not have seen, had we not taking this tour. He gave us a lot of good information about the city and was very informative. I will say that it is a bit unprofessional to drop the F bomb in your tour. He said a few times that the Spanish f***ed up. Probably best to use leave that word for use with your friends, not a tour group.

Our tour walking about the Old Town area of Girona was a great experience with Edwardo. He shared local legends, explained the history, and painted a visual portrait of what life has been like over the centuries here in Girona. Don’t miss your opportunity to walk with Edwardo.

We loved our tour! The tour guide, Alvar, is amazing. He knows so much about the history and about the city. Without a doubt one of the best (maybe THE best) tour guide we ever had. Consistent and great in sharing his knowledge, we loved to learn more about this wonderful city and it’s history and importance to Spain.

Monica was an excellent host. We learned so much about the city as she unlocked the history for us. We only had limited time in Girona and this tour provided an excellent overview of the city which we would otherwise not have known. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed the tour on a sunny day in September. Our guide was waiting for us and we were only 4 in the group - 2 couples who did it together. We spent a lot of time at the first spot and it was sometimes hard to understand our guide but if we asked for clarification, he gave it very quickly.

Susanna was fantastic. Not only was she easy to understand, but had a deep and fascinating knowledge of the old city of Girona. Her personal story of the recent history of Spain was fascinating and truly enlightening. We loved our walk about with Susanna.

An excellent introduction to the fascinating history and legends of Girona. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and present it to us very enthusiastically. We had only one day in Girona and felt this tour gave us a good understanding of the town in our limited time there.

Does this tour include entrance into the Cathedral and Arab bath? If not, should we purchase entrance tickets in advance? We plan to join tour on 19 Mar 22

The walking tour did not include entrance to the Cathedral or the Arab Baths. We walked and explored the old city from the outside only.

Hello,
I wanted to know is this also a Game of Thrones walking tour or is there another tour that is dedicated to Game of Thrones?
Written 26 November 2019
No, this was not a game of Thrones walking tour. I believe there is another tour which covers the " Game of Thrones". This tour covered lots of historical and other information. All six of us said we were not interested in GOT.
