Great introduction to Girona and the rich history
Had a great tour with Mike. He was personable and extremely knowledgeable. Our three hour tour went by quickly and was packed with history, stories and some fun. Fortunately everyone in our group was fairly fit so we could all go the same pace. Lots of stairs and moderate climbing on this walk. Take your camera and some water.

Excellent Jewish history tours of Girona and Besalu.
Our tour guide was Mike, and he was a wealth of knowledge, and so much fun. Half way through the tour we stopped for lunch. Mike’s suggestions for restaurants was excellent. Regarding the tour itself, learning about the 1,000 year history and extensive contributions of the Jewish people in Girona and Besalu was eye-opening. It was disturbing to learn of the persecution and ghettoization of the Jewish people through the centuries, in spite of the fact that they were financial advisors and physicians to the elite of Spanish society. Particularly moving was the beauty of these two Medieval cities. Walking the narrow, winding streets was like being in a Time Machine. Our guide filled us in on the religious history of the cities, both Christian and Jewish. We saw where the synagogues used to be, and at the end of the tour, we visited the Jewish History museum of Girona. Fascinating! Our guide’s breadth of information was breathtaking. Suggestions: Bring good walking shoes!

Peter was our tour guide and Alex our driver, we were lucky enough to have the tour to ourselves, Peter was so informative and knowledgeable and we learnt so much during the course of the day. All delivered with interest and good humour. We couldn’t recommend more highly. Alex was also a superb driver throughout the day. Book now!

Wonderful GIRONA Jewish Quarter and Jewish History Museum Tour
Our guide, Ona, was terrific. The tour included much of the Old City in addition to the Jewish Quarter. I had wondered, in advance, why we would want a tour guide to take us through the Jewish Museum when we could read the explanations accompanying the exhibits on our own. I was wrong. Ona’s extensive knowledge of Jewish history and the stories behind the exhibits made the experience far more interesting and informative than it would have been without her. Similarly, her stories about the Jewish Quarter brought it to life in a way we couldn’t have experienced on our own.

      Perfect Day Out
A great experience visiting the small picturesque medieval towns - Besalu, Santa Pau, Castellfollit De La Roca - hiking up a volcano and having a 4 course lunch, and to finish off, a short stroll along the Banyoles lake. The towns were what I was most looking forward to and they surely did not disappoint! What a stunning part of the country steeped in so much history! Our guide Pete did not stutter in telling us all about the history here, he was perfect, charismatic, funny, and very passionate about the historical and present day Catalonia! If ever we are back in Girona this company will be first choice for exploring! Save the Castle! Thanks for a great day Pete! Ailsa & Christian

A thoroughly enjoyable tour! Pete our guide was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and great company. We learned so much about Dalí and his works but also the region and its economy. Carme was also lovely patiently driving us around. The tour was professional and efficiently organized.

Amazing Private tour of Jewish Girona. Fascinating and well informed.
Miguel gave our family including 2 teens and an 11 year old) a private tour of the Jewish history in Girona. Miguel was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging-and extremely passionate about the topic. We are pretty well informed about Jewish history and we learned a ton. Even our children were engaged. Thank you Miguel for an amazing tour!

      Girona - Jewish history tour
We had an exceptional experience on this tour, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Mike, our guide, possesses an impressive depth of knowledge about the Jewish history of Girona. His passion and expertise truly brought the rich history of the area to life. My son and I were captivated by the stories and insights he shared, which made the history accessible and engaging for both of us. Mike’s ability to weave historical facts with compelling narratives made the tour not only educational but also genuinely enjoyable. We walked away with a much deeper understanding and appreciation of Girona’s Jewish heritage, and the experience was a highlight of our visit. If you’re looking to delve into the Jewish history of this beautiful city, Mike is the perfect guide to take you on that journey.

      Port Lligat, Cadaqués & Figueres
We were met by our guide Pere and driver Alex at our hotel and taken on an extraordinary journey through the Catalan countryside to Port Lligat, the home of Salvador Dali and his wife, Gala. Then we drove to nearby Cadaqués, a picturesque fishing village. Dali’s home is a must if you want an insight into this extraordinary but flawed man. We then drove to Figueres for lunch and a visit to the Dali museum which is a tour de force of the beautiful and outrageous creations of Dali and should not be missed by any art enthusiast. Pere guided us with such tremendous enthusiasm and amazing knowledge and was able to point out fascinating details of Dali’s art work that without his input, would have passed us by. We learnt a great deal about Dali, the man, his art and his importance to the Surrealist movement. Highly recommend this tour and if you’re lucky, Pere will be your guide.

      A Journey Through Time
Pere, our guide, took us on a magical journey through the twisting alleyways and cobbled streets of Girona’s Jewish Quarter - giving us a unique and fascinating insight into the community’s history and culture. Pere’s amazing enthusiasm and knowledge managed to ‘transport’ us back to the 14th, 15th centuries and beyond. Would highly recommend this tour - you’ll come away far more enlightened about this important era of Catalonia’s history.

      Nice time
Our tour guide Carmen was amazing! She knows a lot about the history of these villages. We were supposed to go to two more places but we didn’t make it to them. We did eat lunch at a local restaurant that was good as well.

Great option if you only have a few hours
Eduardo did a wonderful job and we had a great time in Girona! The half day tour was just long enough to see a lot, without feeling too long. Plus time for lunch after. Eduardo was very sweet with our 3 year old, and was great at finding shady spots to keep us comfortable. We loved it!

We greatly enjoyed Girona and this wonderful tour. We arrive by train from Barcelona and it was about a 15 minute walk to the meeting point. Per was a wonderful guide, a student at the university with so much information about the history of the town. Per showed video and images of the GOT scenes filmed in Girona as we stopped at various sites in the city.

Monica was wonderful: very knowledgeable and passionate about Girona - and Game of Thrones. Girona is an exceptionally beautiful and historic city, and we also learned some fascinating details about the production of GOT. To top it all off, Monica gave us some of her special insider recommendations for great ice cream, pastries, and restaurants. Our experience was more like spending time with a good friend than a tour guide. Thanks so much to Monica and Girona Experience.

We had such a great “game of thrones” tour with Eduardo! Our tour began with an explanation on the lioness and her rear-end. We then learned why flies are considered sacred in Girona.

Eduardo took us to each separate filming location in Game of thrones and he time to explain each scene. We got to see short videos at each location as we stood directly in front of the real-life filming location.

It was incredible to feel as though we were “on set.” I especially enjoyed the staircase where the horse was ridden up the steps.

At the end, we were given some wonderful suggestions on the best gelato in Girona as well as the best xioxo. After the tour, I stopped by to try my first xioxo (a Girona delight) and I was not disappointed!

Thank you, Eduardo, for an incredible tour and a delightful day in beautiful Girona.

The tour is a combination of both history of Girona and Game of Thrones scenes. Being a fan of both, I enjoyed this tour and would highly recommend it to those visiting Girona. Our guide, Eli, was both knowledgeable of Girona (being a Girona local herself) and Game of Thrones. She was able to explain in detail the behind the scenes of filming in GoT in Girona because she was a local cast in some of the Girona scenes of GoT. The duration of the tour (around 2.5 hours) was also ideal since it allow you to explore more of your preferred areas after the actual tour.

Great walk of real world historic Girona & GoT locations. Tour was for my partner, fan of the show which I’ve not seen yet but I still thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon - a great way to explore the city.
Guide Ona was really engaging, knowledgable & helpful, ensuring all the group were included and comfortable asking questions. Great tips of what to do & where to eat during our short break or food for thought about subsequent visits.
    Would highly recommend.

Ona was great and very personal on her relationship to Girona and knowledge of the city. She knew the history and of course the GOT shots. She was able to provide videos to us to refresh our memory of what scenes were filmed. She also took us to the gardens where less tourist go and that’s always a plus. Highly recommend!
