- jjnemitz0 contributionsBarcelona in a DayThis tour was excellent! Pick up at my hotel was prompt, even early! Our tour guide Ana was superior! She was very personable, knowledgeable and spoke great English. She was a very smart young person. The tour included all the places a tourist should see in a day at a very reasonable price. The time given at each place was perfect. Tickets were secured by the guide and no waiting in line! Lunch was at an amazing cafe with excellent food and drink! There is non stress walking involved, so if you cannot walk or have joint issues that prevent you from keeping pace, another non walking tour would be better. The walking is minimal at best. Long day and drop off at my hotel was great. This tour was excellent and I recommend it highly!Written 15 October 2024

We just returned from a fantastic day with our guide Arnau. He was knowledgeable, interesting and engaged with our whole group. The small group tour is the way to go. Picked up at our hotel rather than a central location. After touring Girona we were given plenty of time to tour on our own and have lunch. A different vibe after touring Barcelona. Small medieval town with interesting sites including GOT locations. Arnau really shinned during the Dali tour. Other people started listening in while he gave us the in and outs of Dali’s art and his life. Highly recommend this trip.

We took this day trip from Barcelona the first day we arrived (after a week in Madrid) and really enjoyed our tour with Marius from In and Out. We (wife, myself, and 2 teen boys) were picked up at our place in a van where we joined one other family. Marius was very knowledgeable about the area(s) even though he’d only been in Spain about 5 years, and shared info along the hour long drive to Girona. Once there, he did a nice job of pointing out highlights (along with GOT filming sites which was a hit with many of us), then took us to a great lunch/restaurant in Figueres before leading us on a tour of the Dali museum. We then drove home and were back by about 6 pm. It was a bit of a long day, but very enjoyable and a great way to explore outside the city. Highly recommended and more intimate than a big tour bus.

I wanted to make sure to get a trip to Figueres and Girona before leaving Spain. This was the perfect solution at the end of a two-week vacation - tired from train rides and figuring out how to get to places on my own.
Andre was our guide and driver for this three-person group. He picked us up from our respective places in Barcelona and on the way to Figueres he started his intro to Salvador Dali. His knowledge on the artist, his conversation, the time left to explore the museum proved this was worth the booking. And to add on his knowledge of Girona history and his celebratory spirit (it was his birthday!) just added to the enjoyment.
Don't hesitate to book. It was safe, it took all the thinking out of planning this trip on my own, it was a good choice for this solo traveler (and the couple from Siberia who was on the tour too).

Arnau was a spectacular host. His great enthusiasm for and knowledge of Dali made this one of the best tours we have ever taken. I am now a Dali fan as well and recommend that anyone in Barcelona visit the Dali museum. The tour is well organised and the hotel pick-up and drop-off made the day effortless. When we return to Barcelona we will seek out additional inoutbarcelona tours.

We liked our Sagrada Familia and Monseratt tour with Arnau so much that we booked this tour with him. We had a blast!! Girona was absolutely beautiful. Arnau knew the best ways to get around and shared the interesting history of Girona. Game of Thrones produced a few scenes there and that was cool to see. But there is so much more to see than just that. There is a little bit of everything for everyone in Girona (history, shopping, food, sightseeing, etc). Finally, we went to the Dali museum. Arnau told us all about Dali's life in the car while driving us there. Arnau is a great driver. The Dali museum is COOL!! When you know the context and stories behind Dali's art, it makes it way more enjoyable. On the tour we could tell Arnau really loved Dali and really enjoyed explaining all the stories to us. We would highly recommend!! Last important thing to note is that we were always wearing masks and sanitizing our hands at every stop. We felt Barcelona was a very safe and healthy place to go on vacation! Don't hesitate, go to Barcelona and ask for Arnau!!

We wanted to do an easy, low-pressure day trip while in Barcelona, and booked this pretty last minute on a whim. While it was just two of us, Kurt engaged us and put us at ease throughout what was essentially a private tour. As a seasoned guide, a self-taught historian, and a dabbler in the arts, Kurt had an informed and interesting perspective on Dalí, his art, and the history of Catalonia. (He also once met Dalí in person, which was an added point of interest.) From a logistics perspective, our pickup was easy and on time, and we also appreciated that Kurt let us customize our drop off at the end so we could do more sightseeing. Definitely a worthwhile day trip for those who want to see more of Catalonia.

We had only a small group of 5-- my husband, teenager, myself and two other tourists in our small group tour. Oriol, our tour guide and driver, picked us up from our apartment in the Eixample on time. He had contacted us the day before to tell us exact pick up time. Oriol gave us a nice introduction about the town of Girona on our drive there. Because we were not in a big tour bus, our guide was able to drive into the old city and saved us quite a walk. It was so much fun walking through medieval Girona with Oriol, who had an iPad Pro to show us scenes from the Games of Thrones that were filmed on location. Around noon, Oriol lead us to the town square and gave us 90 minutes for lunch and self exploring. Then, it was back on the comfy Mercedes van to Figueres. Once again, Oriol dropped us off while he parked the car. Oriol had already purchased timed tickets for us. So, we walked right into the Dali Museum. Oriol narration through the Dali Museum really elevated the whole experience at the Museum. I, for one, have so much newfound appreciation for the genius of Dali's art. Hearing about Dali's life was also endlessly fascinating. Anyhow, I highly recommend this day trip from Barcelona. Our guide Oriol was top-notched!

I went to the Dali Museum about 15 years ago and was so jealous of all the people who had guides. I finally returned to the museum today with our fantastic guide, Gaspar, and saw all the people around us having that same feeling of envy and wishing they were in our your group. It made such a difference to be there with him!
Gaspar was so warm and caring and informed. He filled our time with stories and history and a tremendous amount of information that was shared in a really interesting way.
He kept a great pace that kept me and my three boys (21, 19 and 14) engaged the whole time. He was able to "read the room" and determine when to move faster and when to go into more details.
We also had a great tour of Girona, ate lunch at a local spot (CasaFlora... highly recommend it) that he suggested and is run by a darling family.
He got us back at the time he promised and we are really grateful for the awesome day.
Sign up... and, ask for Gaspar when you do!

Rueben was our guide for the day. He did an excellent job providing the history of Dali and Gala and taking us though the museum highlighting the significance of Dali's work. Our walking tour in Girona was outstanding. Rueben is a walking encyclopedia of history and facts of the city. I would highly recommend this trip and Rueben in particular. Well worth the money.

One of the major goals of our trip was going to the Dali Museum. Little did we know that Miguel would be one of the best parts of our trip to Spain as well! For those getting the itch to travel, I cannot recommend Spain & In Out Barcelona tours. COVID awareness and protocols were always in place, we never felt any reasons to be concerned & following the protocols along with Miguel, we were safe and sound & blown away. In Out Barcelona tours had excellent communications. There was a shift in guides, but we were told well in advance with contact info and pickup time. Guillem did an excellent job and the company feel blessed to have such employees. Our expectations for In Out Barcelona tours were set very high with our first tour with them, and sure enough they did not miss the mark. Miguel showed up early and we hashed out the day’s agenda. It is a long drive out to the Dali Museum, so Miguel shared information with us about the areas we were traveling through. If you have not traveled through Europe, be aware that parking is too often problematic, but Miguel had a plan and we found a nice garage within walking distance to the museum. I injured my back just before going to Spain, so walking was a bit of a challenge. Miguel got us to and through the museum. I believe Miguel is an actual fan of Dali’s work as he held true to the artist, that someone cannot tell you surreal art is because it is up to each person to interrupt what they see or are experiencing. Miguel was quite knowledgeable about the Dali Museum, its history & Dali’s history to the location. The museum was simply amazing and enjoyable, but busy and sometimes cramp, to which Miguel masterfully guided us through. Off to lunch and it was delicious, and quite filling. Miguel took us through Girona and showed up some simple, but fascinating information. My wife also says, that Miguel took us to the best coffee/pastry place ever! It is a long day, but Miguel made it such a special day, that time flew.

Hi,
I've have chosen the option for the later payment, but I'm still charged the full amount instead of 1 euro. Is it normal?
Do you have any discounts for kids?

Hola,
On the payment step I have chosen the option for the later payment, but I'm still charged the full amount instead of 1 euro. How can I solve that?
Do you have any discount for the children? I now see no difference between the costs for adults and children.

We will be traveling in September. Will Covid masks be required on the van, in the museums, and around the towns?
Written 20 June 2022
Mask weren't manditory anywhere in May. We were 4×vaccinated but wore ours in most indoor facilities and vehicles. We were in Spain for three weeks and came home COVID free. Who knows what September will bring.
Written 21 June 2022
Two questions.
For the small group tour, how much of the 10 hours is spent driving to Girona/returning from Figueres?
Questions above reference purchasing tickets to the Dali museum in advance. Is that necessary? Is there any chance we will get there and not be able to get in if we don’t purchase in advance?
Written 24 October 2021
The longest of the drives is to and from Barcelona. About 1.5 hours each way.
From Figueres to Girona is only about 45 minute or so.
The key when we went was that only so many people are allowed in at any given time due to COVID, so there is a potential to not get it, and if you drove an hour and half only to find out you have to wait some more; wouldn't make the tour as enjoyable.
