Your culinary tour begins in central Barcelona, where you greet your guide and small group limited to 12 people. Awaken your taste buds with coffee and a traditional Catalan pastry, xuixo, and head to a family-run deli to sample meat and cheeses. Continue to Santa Caterina Market—a less-crowded alternative to La Boqueria Market—to learn about local produce before doing more tastings in the Born area, where one of the stops is to a shop that’s been open for more than 150 years. Then, head to Barcelona’s fisherman’s quarter to sip vermouth in a tapas bar before tucking into home-cooked paella. Your guide teaches you about traditions, like drinking from a porron, and festivals. The tour concludes here.

We had a great tour with Valentina! We had a group of about 10 people. We met at the Santa Catarina market and started our visit inside the market. We had some wonderful ham and cheese there. There were several other stops, and Valentina explained things well and dropped tidbits of other information along the way. We had plenty to eat, and actually, were too full to finish the paella we got at the end. This ended up being one of our favorite days on the trip, and we wish we could have taken the tour earlier. The tour wasn't offered on Saturday or Sunday (we got to BCN on Saturday), so we took the tour on Monday. I recommend taking the tour as soon as you can because you learn about the city, and you get great recommendations about food and where to eat while in Barcelona. We like to do food tours when we can, and I was quite pleased with this one. I felt it was worth the money spent.

Absolutely fabulous food tour! Alex was our guide and he was fantastic. He was entertaining, funny, and informative. We really had a fabulous time on this tour. The love for both the city of Barcelona and the cuisine of Catalonia was apparent from the carefully planned itinerary to the fabulous tastes we enjoyed. The paella was great. I loved the torron. My favorite might have been the bomba - a ham and mashed potato fried ball of yum! I also had vermouth for the first time on this tour and loved it. Yum!! Thanks to Alex for a fabulous time.

Valentina was a fantastic tour guide! She was extremely friendly, very knowledgable, and took us to some delicious places. We were a small group of 5 and the tour felt very private. Highly recommend this to solo travelers as a way to get a feel for Barcelona's food scene early on in your trip.

Average tour which took us to one market and a few stops in the Born and Barceloneta neighborhoods. Minimal food on offer and nothing that you couldn't find on your own - ham, cheese, croissant, some mini sandwiches and a few small bites of nougat candy. Oddly, the tour ended with an average taste of paella (which is not a specialty in Barcelona). The tour guide was nice but made us wait 10 minutes for two late arrivals and was difficult to hear because she didn't project her voice. Every place we went I think a tourist would have found during their own walks. We didn't go to any out of the way or not as well known places. Would not recommend Devour Tours.

Dear SDS769, Thanks for taking the time to write us a review. We are sorry the tour did not meet your expectations. Our Devour tours have been in the market for many years. We are happy and proud to say we are one of the best tour companies. The 5 stars reviews we have received throughout those years show how much we care for our guests. Again, we apologize if it was not a 5 stars for you this time. I could not find your booking with us. If you can please contact us directly at feedback@walks.org. We will be happy to assist you and understand with more details why this tour was not like you were expecting. Thanks. Kind regards, Jhonas.

Amazing! Barcelona was the first of three tours we signed up for with Devour over a month in Spain, and it really set the tone. Our guide Luke was funny, engaging, and his enthusiasm for the city was contagious. We were absolutely stuffed full of delicious food and loved trying so many that were unique to Barcelona.

Hi April! Thank you for leaving the review. Luke is great! You can't help but smile when spending time with him. We trust the other Devour tours lived up to the standards set by Luke. Safe travels!

We have booked food tours with Devour before and they have always been highly enjoyable and this was no exception. Our host Nika was enthusiastic, engaging and a passionate foodie and possessed a wealth of knowledge with regards to the many wine regions of Spain.

We got to try some great locally made bread, pastries and cava, excellent cheeses, delicious hams including the world famous iberico ham and to finish a lovely homemade paella.
The tour was an ideal size (8 people) and Nika afforded time to us all and at the end provided us some great tips of places to eat for which one of them, namely Bar Del Pla, we had the opportunity to visit the next day and can highly recommend for both its excellent food, choice of wines and great service.
If visiting Barcelona tours would highly recommend booking a food tour and look no further than Devour and if you are fortunate enough to get Nika as your host then you are going to definitely have a great time.

It's hard to choose whether the food or the history lesson was more satisfying. Our guide, Valentina, was knowledgeable of both the history of the city and region and the food we were eating. We sampled a wide variety of food and the quantities were enough to keep us full all day long. I would recommend this tour to anyone.

This was the perfect tour to begin our Barcelona visit! Our guide, Vera, was full of information, fun and so kind to our 9 year old daughter who joined us on the tour. We loved that all of the stops were small and family owned and the tour included historical information about the city as well. All of the food was delicious and even if our daughter didn't love everything, she tasted each thing and Vera made sure she had something that she liked at each stop. We got a great introduction to a few Barcelona neighborhoods and returned to continue exploring and trying more foods. The tour ended with an amazing paella lunch and glass of wine. Perfect way to end a great morning. Don't pass up on this tour!

I did the tour with my wife and college student granddaughter and all three of us had a wonderful time even though it was raining like crazy that day. We had a group of about 12 total and most of the group bonded quickly. We were led and informed by Valentina. We have done a number of food tours in the United States and she is easily the best guide we have experienced. All the stops were very good and the variety of food, wine, and spirits was fantastic. I would recommend this anyone wanting to get a quick insight into local history, architecture, and booze. First rate!

Arianna met us promptly outside the St. Caterina Market. She instantly gave us a review of how markets work, their history and showed us a couple unique stalls. We then started tasting which included a good selection of meats and cheeses along with some cava. From the market we toured some parts of the Latin Quarter and El Born tasting delicious things such as croissants, and a traditional honey bread, horchata, and torrones all while hearing about the history of each location and merchant. The horchata was not to be missed and we went back twice during our visit for more and also purchased torrone to take home as gifts. We continued waking into the Fisherman's district for our final stop where we were treated to vermouth, wine, a bomba and paella which was all excellent. By the end of the tour we were absolutely stuffed. Arianna was personable , energetic and full of knowledge. Not surprisingly, her English was perfect. We would highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to taste a bit of Barcelona. It was well worth it!
