- Mistyhazel0 contributionsDon't waste your moneyWe were very disappointed as we went for my birthday treat. Firstly the seats are awful, uncomfortable and packed in like sardines in a row. You can feel the breath of your neighbours either side. They ushered me into a cramped seat where I couldn't see the stage, I asked to be moved they said no.....so when they weren't looking we moved anyway as I'm claustrophobic! We paid over €90 for the show and drink and I couldn't wait for it to be over. So glad we ate before we came, as reviews of food not great. This looks like it's a show done on a budget, the costumes and set were not great apart from 1 flamenco dress the female dancer changed into at the end. The singers consisted of 3 older men clapping and hollering. The show lacked passion and there was no interaction dancing between male and female dancers. The main female dancer was actually quite good but there was no storyline to follow. Came away feeling very disappointed and conned. It's clearly a conveyer belt performance and tourist trap. I would avoid and spend your money elsewhere.Written 6 February 2025
- Disgruntled11080 contributionsWonderfulThis was a well timed morning tour departing from Julia Tours office in the bus station. Our was Anna - 2 n - and she was beyond helpful and informative and enthusiastic. We managed to get the earlier cog wheel train and we had the right amount of time to visit the Black Madonna and the Basilica, there was plenty of time to enjoy this location. I would happily return to Montserrat for a full day. Anna is a real asset to Julia Tours, she helped our group navigate a trip to Guell Park from the drop off point and give us general information on getting to Barcelona Airport.Written 5 February 2025

Breathtaking views and so much history. It was the highlight of our stay. Anna was able to answer many of our questions about Montserrat and Barcelona. We highly recommend the tour with Anna.Written 4 February 2025

The have an app tat you can install on your phone that tracks the buses so if you get off to know when to expect the next one. Really convenient. The 2 bus routs take to most to the main tourist sights. Each route takes about 2 hours to complete, so will keep you occupied for a day or to.Written 2 February 2025

- Cjcnotes0 contributionsFirst rate FlamencoThe Tablao Cordobes is unprepossing from outside, upstairs off a slightly downmarket section of La Rambla. The room itself is better, though not especially comfortable with chairs close together and a nearly full house. But the point is the show. The flamenco performance was excellent. Terrific dance and guitar (good but not terrific singing). And I think every seat in the house could fully share the show, feel engaged and upclose.Written 29 January 2025
- nishiki800 contributionsYou should try itWe tried both routes, green and orange. The green one is slightly better, more to see, we sat at the top, very windy tho. An audio equipment with earphones (you get them when you get it to the bus) let you listen all information in so many languages including English. The orange one got rude staff and on top very first seat on left got not working audio equipment. I would recommend to go on the bus tour especially if you're in Barcelona for a short time.Written 28 January 2025

We're really glad we paid for a guided tour of the Sagrada Familia and are very grateful to our guide Isabel who was funny, knowledgable, patient and informative. We went on the first tour of the day, which I'd recommend as the site really filled up quickly while we were there.
The Julia Travel Office is just over the road from the church on Carrer de Sardenya so was very easy to find. From there we were escorted over to the fast-track entry and were quickly through the security check and into the grounds on the Nativity side. The intricate detail in the facade is absolutely stunning and Isabel was able to point out things we wouldn't have spotted on an unaccompanied tour and give us a potted history of Gaudi's ideas and the the project to build this stupendous monument.
Entering the Sagrada Familia is astonishing. The size is almost literally breathtaking. We learned so much about the symbolism all around us; the windows, the use of colour and light, the statues. Isabel's commentary was delivered via headsets so there was some freedom to move about and still saty connected to the tour, rather than always having to stand near to where she was.
The tour ends on the Passion side, where people who have paid to go to the tower continue their tour. Isobel pointed out the route to the museum and the viewing point to see Gaudi's tomb. There is no time limit after the tour so we were able to go back and look at everything again with all that we'd learnt in mind.
My only slight qualm with this visit was that the booking information stated that no sandals were allowed in the Sagrada Familia and so we took extra shoes with us - this turned out to be unnecessary. It seems only flip-flops and perhaps very flimsy sandals aren't allowed. We also found we didn't need to cover our shoulders inside as stated in the booking details, but this was a minor detraction from a great excursion.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this fascinating tour.

This is one off experience and our guide, Raul, made it very enjoyable.
Lots of interesting facts offered and plenty of opportunity to ask questions and take photos. Raul’s English is excellent and he is very clear to understand and has a nice sense of humour.
The building is spectacular inside and out.
We chose to view the other Gaudi buildings we visited from the outside only so as not to add additional expense to our holiday but would recommend paying extra for this guided tour.
Whilst the tour bypasses the singe entry queues, there are is some queuing required to get through security and it’s very busy! You spend about 30 mins of 1.5 hours on queuing/ security and waiting to begin.

The Sagrada Familia is an amazing place and we were so glad to see the inside and to have a guide to point out things that we would have missed if we had done it all on our own. Ramon, our guide, was very informative and very enthusiastic. We learnt about the history of the building, what it was made from, Gaudi's influences and what he was trying to achieve. Fascinating. We were told that if we hadn't taken the tour the queue to get in was over 4 hours - so definitely worth the money just to skip the queue. On the day we took the tour, there was no availability to book on the day even in November so you need to book this in advance.

We booked an English monolingual tour, but were told when we arrived that it was a combined Spanish and English tour. Unfortunately the guide had a very strong Spanish accent so we could barely understand when he spoke English. Found it totally underwhelming (unlike the basilica itself which is absolutely amazing!). Save yourself some money and do a self guided tour instead (our experience of self guided tours in Barcelona at other sights was awesome) The only benefit of this tour was that we skipped the queue.

Dear colleen1246,
Thank you for taking the time to write this review,
I sincerely regret to hear our Sagrada Familia tour did not live up to your expectations. Please note not all our tours are operated in English or English only. We do offer time slots daily in which English is the only spoken language but we do offer bilingual tours too, which was your tour option.
Regarding the accent of the guide, it is necessary to take into account our guides are officially accredited by the local government, and tested regularly in their language skills.
Best regards,

Julia travel is an agency that cranks out the tours. I felt a little like cattle being herded (but the basilica is a crowded tourist must-see so to be expected). Our guide Paula, was proficient and informative but definitely not personable, and seemed annoyed and even a little rude. Tour was bilingual which did not bother me too much but it did mean that she spoke very quickly and basically told people “if your English isn’t good enough to keep up, just turn in your audio phone receivers and I won’t be offended.” As a native English speaker and Spanish as my second language I sometimes need to pay attention to the Spanish to catch what she was saying. To be fair, that must be hard as a guide. Had we booked earlier we could have just used the audio guide and I think that would have been just as good and definitely cheaper. But we delayed and could only get tickets through an agency.

I wouldn’t take this tour again. The tour guide was ok but overall his job was to basically shuttle people through the chaos of security and massive amounts of people and you had to listen to him through ear buds because there were so many people around. Probably the worst tour I’ve ever paid for, not the fault of the guide, but the whole set up. If you’re set on seeing the inside, I’d just pay the entry fee or find a more specialized small tour that focuses on what you want to learn about.

There was no "skip the line". The guide did not speak loud enough for anyone more than 8 feet away to understand her instructions. After standing outside the street-level entrance for 20 minutes in a line that was not moving and observing other groups on the higher level just waiting some more, I mumbled some expletives and left.
The structure is impressive, so just walk around it and take all the photos you want, no charge.

Thank you for sharing your feedback,
It saddens me to learn that you decided not to continue with our Sagrada Familia guided tour.
I would like to inform you that even though the tickets for the Sagrada Familia guided tour are purchased in advance. Sagrada Familia´s special conditions for group entrance indicate that every official guide must be accredited to enter, please bear in mind these proceedings can not be skipped or rushed.

The only tickets available for the time we were in Barcelona were the bilingual fast track guided tour. As Spanish was our guide’s first language it seemed that she spent more time talking in Spanish than English. We were given headphones to listen to her and the information was very interesting, but found the time listening to her talking in Spanish quite tedious (no fault of the guide) and found my mind wandering off so not always on the ball when she returned to English. I wouldn’t choose a bilingual guided tour again and would have preferred to wander round on my own with an audio guide downloaded on my phone. Entry tickets on their own, were already sold out. Definitely would recommend a visit but book early to avoid disappointment.

We had been to Barcelona several times and never managed to get insde the Sagrada Familia. The queues to get in are horrendous so we booked this tour to get inside as we had limited time. The fast Track to get in worked, you still have to go through air port style security which takes some time but not too bad. The inside is worth the hassle. Its a lovely experience not to missed. It is not a quiet secluded type of trip as the venue gets 15000 visitors a day. It is worth the time and the money. Not for anyone who does not like crowds. The guide was very good and knowledgeable and helps to make a great experience.

We had forgotten to reserve a tour of La Sagrada Familia and luckily got a space for the two of us with Julia Travel. They had a group of a bit over 20 people. This was in Oct 2023 and it was a lot more crowded than I had expected. The guide explained thing in enough detail and answered our questions well. The tour was about 1.5 hours in total. About 1/3 of the time was spent getting through the crowd, getting our head sets sorted out. Another 10 minutes was spent describing the outside before we headed inside and it was amazing. After 30 minutes inside (or so) we headed out side for a discussion on the baroque style facade and the recreated 'original' school house.
The head sets were collected and we spent as much time as we wanted seeing the inside/outside and underground museum before exiting.
Note, while you can loop back around to see more after exiting via the museum gift shop, you have to go through security screening again. It might be better to loop back to the entrance of the museum and to get back inside before going into the gift shop.
It was about the right length of time.

presuming you sought out an English speaking translator as a primary language, then the bilingual spanish means they speak both english and spanish.

No, just as Colino772 mentioned, pick up your tickets at the office across the road from Sagrada Familia. And leave extra time before your tour is scheduled to start, it was very chaotic inside the office with multiple tours departing at the same time.

Can I take my 3 years old with me inside the church? I was told it is only for 6 years old and above.
Shall I have a tour guide or just do it on my own.
Written 25 May 2022
I saw people of all ages there including very young children. I did not see any signs that restricted ages at all. We did a tour which was nice, but not great. You can do an audio tour too which is probably better because the guide was hard to understand because it was so loud in there with all the people. It does get crowded so a timed tour may be better if you are going at a peak time.

Do you offer any private tour? My husband and I are on a Norweigian cruise that docks on Dec 8 at 9am. We want to go to Sagrada Familia and Christmas market nearby, have lunch and return to ship by 5. My husband walks with a cane and can only walk short distances and cannot climb more than 3-4 stairs. Can you provide us a private tour ?

I agree with the other persons comments. The 14 year old should be ok, but think it isn't really suitable for a 7 year old. Suggest just visit without going on the tour as still lots to see. A wonderful place..

I don’t know- for me it is a matter of timing, and my availability. I have had three tours- one great- two mediocre. They seem to be about timing of entrance and access.
