About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- rociom2070 contributionsStart your trip with this tour!We really enjoyed this tour. Mery was a very nice guide. Very engaging, she took us to a few good breweries and shared some information with us. Very glad that we did this at the beginning of our visit. It gave us the opportunity to understand a little of the city and to experience it as locals.Written 13 March 2024
- Docac690 contributionsA great walking trip to do in CologneA lovely evening with a well informed witty guide, Chris. Totally loved the Christmas markets and the Kolsch beer!Written 21 December 2023
- madelines8330 contributionsGreat guide, very personalThis was a fantastic tour. Manni was absolutely incredible - very funny, personable, knowledgable. He brought us to all the best areas of the markets we visited and showed us many sites and shared some great stories along the way. We got lucky that it was a very small group to begin with and then 2 didn't show so it was just myself and one other person on the tour meaning the guide was able to show us some more historical stuff that we were interested in (although I was interested in anything he wanted to share). I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking for a fun tour with some drinks along the way (alcoholic and non), funny and interesting stories, and a great guideWritten 12 December 2023
- TravelingBum520 contributionsSo prettyI did not do a tour. We went to the Christmas Markets on our own. We parked by the Cathedral and walked all over. It is very beautiful and easy to get around.Written 10 December 2023
- rob_sapsford0 contributionsChristmas in CologneOur tour guide Kim was very informative and fun. She knew a great deal of the history and culture of her home city, which she made very interesting. The brewery and markets were good too but made better with Kim’s tour.Written 9 December 2023
- tynereng0 contributionsWonderfulFabulous! Christmas trees, lights and delicious food everywhere and wonderful stalls. Sooooo christmassy. There is an ice skating rink too.Written 6 December 2023
- sjtgdav0 contributionsFun and informative, a must doA must do when visiting Cologne. Our guide, Kim, was friendly , enthusiastic and informative not just about Kolsch but also history and local customs. She showed us places we wouldn’t have found ourselves. Highly recommend.Written 28 November 2023
- tobyp3300 contributionsA great time!Such a good atmosphere here. Felt safe the whole time we were here. Fantastic time at the markets. They were easy enough to find and had SO much to offer! I’m different shops and activities! Fantastic will definitely be back.Written 16 August 2023
- Anita R0 contributionsKöln Bier & fun afternoon with chrisWe did a private tour with Chris while in Köln on a Viking river cruise. We had varying interest levels/ ages and everyone really enjoyed it Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the tales, beer information & beer history shared by Chris. He gave us insights into the German culture, Kölsch beer, and history of each brauhaus. He lead us places we would not have found on our own and was flexible in settling up with the biers after the tour so we all didn’t have to try and pay at each brauhaus. Very fun- we all enjoyed our time.Written 6 June 2023
- Brenda P0 contributionsFun time exploring old CologneMy husband and I booked this tour last minute and ended up as the only people on the tour. We appreciated that the tour still went ahead, and we were very lucky to have Elisa as our guide. She was super friendly and outgoing and we learned a lot from her, not only about Kölsch beer but about living in Cologne in general. She was very engaging and kept up a good pace while not making us feel rushed. We visited Brauhaus that we wouldn’t have found on our own, and thought they were all special and unique in their own way. Thanks to Elisa for a fun evening, and best of luck to you!Written 14 May 2023
- Michiganmom450 contributionsGreat afternoon!Terrific tour! Jade was terrific, brew houses were beautiful and group was very fun!! Saw a great bachelor party!Written 13 May 2023
- leedN4423RF0 contributionsFantastic tour / great valueThe Kölsch tour was fantastic. We were travelling as a family of 5 including a 13 year old (who was dragged along). This was the only tour I could find that catered for under 18 year olds. With many of the other tours you had to pay for Kölsch for every person so the flexibility of the Kölsch crew was perfect for us. Rebeka was a fantastic guide, super friendly and super knowledgeable. We learned so much about the overall Cologne culture and not just about the beer. The Brauhauses we visited were all amazing as was the Kölsch. I highly recommend this tour 10/10!Written 13 April 2023
- 436ChrisB4360 contributionsBeer, singing and history. The tour was a great way to see the city, discover hidden gems, drink great beer and learn about the history behind the melting pot that is Cologne. Manni was our guide and was exceptionally knowledgeable, read the group perfectly and even gave us a rendition of traditional carnival songs. A word of warning though, don’t ever challenge him to a drinking competition!Written 8 February 2023
- Murphy70590 contributionsLoved the private Brewhouse TourGreat tour and great guide. Highly recommend. This tour was better than most everything we took as part of our Viking River cruise which all had too many people and not nearly as personal.Written 29 January 2023
- AnneriVenter80 contributionsKim was amazing!Kim was an AMAZING guide! It was the best night in Cologne; we made new friends, had awesome beer, and saw some great beer houses. Highly recommend this!!!!! :)Written 26 December 2022

Was in Koln for a couple of days following Scotland at Euro 2024, and on one of my off days I decided to do some sight seeing.
After a walking tour of the historical sites in the morning, I was ready to see what Germany is really famous for, and that was beer.
Having visited Munich a few days previous, I thought I had my fill of beer, yet had developed something of a taste for the local Kolsch beer, and this tour really satisfied that thirst!
Showed up at the meeting point and my guide (name escapes me, but he was American, who had lived in Germany for 8 years) was waiting there and over time the rest of the tour party arrived.
Over 2.5 hours you visit 5 bars, which might not sound that many, but the time flies past in no time, and all the bars we visited were excellent, and I probably would never have found them without this tour to guide me around.
Each bar you sample a different beer, and the prices for a beer are not all that bad (you will pay just over 2 Euros a beer in each bar).
Really is a great way to see the city and find some really great places to drink that you will come back to on your own later on.

This was an amazing experience. Ross our tour guide gave a rich and indepth look at Cologne providing linking history with modern look of the city. He additionally helped us break the ice with the group, book tables and made the overall process super fun.
Ross also stayed after the tour time to answer questions and give recommendations around the city.
I would highly recommend this tour for anyone with 3 hrs of time in Cologne. It was really fantastic.
Thanks a lot!

As a guide, Kim was very nice - quite knowledgeable on the area and very friendly. As a tour, this was not worth the money you pay. We went on the brewery tour on a Thursday evening in early December so understandably, Cologne was very busy with people and tourists. Any company with a bit of foresight would see that they should account for this when hosting a tour of the places that bring in so many tourists. However, rather than having tables booked/reserved at brew houses, we had to walk up to each one and hope they had a table for 12 people. Which none of them (except for one infested with mice) had, meaning the majority of the tour was spent walking around looking for houses or standing outside with a beer. This is a company issue, if they are taking money to provide a brew house tour, it is the bare minimum to guarantee it to take place within brewery houses!
The tour stated that the ticket doesn’t include beers, which we originally thought was fine. However, paying your guide to then pay the house was a very clunky process, especially when you consider that they kept the change!

Absolutely the best beer tour ever. With many thanks to our guide.
Our guide, born and raised in Köln, did know a lot of Köln, Kölsch and the history of the city and it's beers.
We started at 3 o' clock and Felix did a great job during his tour. He did an extra beer house (one or two) and at the end we visited much more than de 3 or 4 beer houses. This was extra, without extra charge.
Great and many thanks and a absolute recommended.

We had an exceptional time with "The Kölsch Crew" brewery tour while in Cologne, and much of that credit goes to our guide, Hanna. From the moment we met, her warm and inviting demeanor made us feel like we were in for something special — and we were right. Hanna wasn't just a guide; she was an educator, a storyteller, and quickly became a friend. Her passion for Cologne and its breweries was infectious, and her depth of knowledge was simply unparalleled. But what truly stood out was how personable she was, effortlessly connecting with us, ensuring our tour was more than just sightseeing — it was an unforgettable experience.
Beyond sharing details about the breweries, she had a wealth of knowledge about Cologne's history that she seamlessly integrated into our tour. We especially appreciated the flexibility to trade one brewery stop for a "walking beer" — a unique way to enjoy the city's sights. It was evident Hanna had a great relationship with the brewery staff, making our stops feel personal and welcoming. The booking process was smooth and for the experience we got, the price was more than reasonable. I'd recommend this tour to anyone visiting Cologne, but more importantly, if you can, ask for Hanna — she'll make it unforgettable.

Zoe is AWESOME. She clearly loves her city and her job! If you have a group, this is a home run! As a solo, I was wishing I had my drinking pals to liven up the scene 😂 (of course no fault of the tour at all), BUT I would still recommend because it has GREAT potential. The kolsch is delicious and the tour informative and the guide exceptional.

Highly recommend this tour. We had Micheal who was very informative and relaxed. Took us around a few pubs and answered all our questions as well as giving advice and recommendations on this wonderful city Cologne. I thought this tour was great value for money and at the end we all stayed and ordered food and had more Kolsch.
I do not normally drink beer but this tour I learnt alot about Kolsch and could appreciate the taste and how it should be drunken.
Thanks again Micheal for making our new years day fun!

The tour guide promised us four Kolsch and we got four Kolsch. However, the process in obtaining these seemed really disorganized. The tour doesn't have any reservations at the brewhouses so it's all luck on which ones you can get into. The first one we stopped at was too crowded. There was a bar next door where we were able to order and be served outside. Our guide explained to us the process of ordering at a brewhouse--disappointing that we didn't exactly get to see this play out on the tour as you really have to be served at least two Kolsch at one brewhouse to get the full effect. Anyways, the next two brewhouses wouldn't take our group. Our tour guide replaced these with two others where we went and sat inside and drank. The last was also too crowded for us to go in but they served us outside. Personally, I'd prefer to just hit a couple brewhouses on my own to try the different Kolsch but get the full experience in each brewhouse.

Ross, our tour guide was excellent. Very knowledgeable, funny, and showed us 4 great places to have a Kölsch. Each beer had its own unique taste and highly recommend this tour to anyone. Shout out to the Brit friends we met on the tour.

I very much enjoyed this tour! So much background on the history of the city, its customs and of course the beer! We had about 15 people in our group from several different countries. We had plenty of time to chat along the way, and plenty of time at each stop to enjoy the unique beers at each Brewhouse. Bring cash. We gave our guide cash for our beers at each location (about 2.5 Euro), who in turn paid our group's full tab. I wish this tour could have been longer!

Do any of the venues have gluten free beers or failing that cider as an alternative? I would be quite happy not to drink at every stop as long as I can in a couple.
