Please be aware, we paid 60 Euros at midday on Monday this week, from the blue zone, once at AlexPlatz changed to the red zone (Berlin tour), the German tour guide was excellent. We checked and the last blue zone bus was 4.40. So if you add a 2 hour tour and want to hop on and off there isn’t enough time. We ended up paying another 15 Euros for a taxi back to hotel near Osterbanhof station as by the time we had been in a museum and visited the B/Gate all the buses we had paid for were finished, so just be aware recommend start early if you want to get good value for your 60 Euros

Dear Peter, We are sorry to hear you didn't enjoy our tours in Berlin. Please be assured that we take your feedback into account with regards to the timetable on the blue route. Thanks again for choosing Big Bus. Julie

We often take a Hop on Hop off tour when visiting new cities, and chose this one as it toured the sites we were interested in, but also offered a free walking tour with the 2 day pass. In the end this was the only attraction we paid for during our weekend in Berlin.
We'd booked the 2 day tour online before we left home and planned to use it as orientation and transport as I couldn't be sure how far apart the sites were.
We Walked from Brandenburg Gate down Unter Den Linden to Alexanderplatz then took the Blue tour round the East Berlin sites on the first day, with the automated audio guide on the bus. As the temperature outside was not much above freezing we were grateful of the heat on the bus.
The next day we arrived back at Brandenburg Gate for the walking tour and were welcomed by Freddie, our English guide, in a party of 12. The next 90 minutes were packed with information and entertainment, taking in the important sites and events from April 1945 up to the present day. It was just what we needed to bring the city into perspective and one of the highlights of the weekend,
Having finished the walking tour at Checkpoint Charlie, we then boarded the Red bus tour, and were joined once again by Freddie as the live guide for that route. Traffic issues caused by events in Berlin that day meant the trip took longer than usual but the entertainment continued with extra facts as we went on a slightly different route. Once again the heating on the bus was appreciated.

The 2 day pass with walking tour was great value for money, virtually no more than a 1 day pass, but we got so much more out of it.

Freddie was our guide. He provided us with a first rate tour of Berlin beginning at the Holocaust Memorial and ending at Checkpoint Charlie. We stopped at significant points where he described events from the last days of WW11 through the Berlin Wall era, and to the fall of the Wall. He related all of this fascinating information with exuberance and passion. I highly recommend this tour.

A fabulous weekend with great friends was made even better by the Big Bus Tours! We booked the package of bus, river cruise and guided walking tour, which cost 40 euros each from the Rep at one of the bus stops (a bit cheaper than on-line). The tickets lasted 48 hours, which meant we had access for the Saturday and Sunday we were in Berlin.
The live guides on the buses were brilliant, especially Freddie, who we were lucky enough to also have as our walk guide.
I would fully recommend the full package- it meant we could pack all of Berlin in, in an all too short break!

"Festivals of lights' Theme of the Tour was a little misleading!!

We took this Tour on Oct 3rd, but only e few buildings were still lit, because the actual Festival ended on Sep 20th...... was not mentioned in the description of the Tour...but the Tour was still worth it.

Really disappointing was the fact that we did not get the 'Curry Wurst' during (or at the end) of the Tour like it said in the description!

Also we found it very disconcerting that the Corona Rules were none existent, the upper level of the bus was fully booked, no seat left empty, really did not like that!

I've been on Big Bus Tours in Istanbul & Dubai and I have to say that the Tours there were more enjoyable due to the fact that there were Tour Guides explaining the sights of the city, in Berlin we only had the headphones.....

All in all it was OK and we still had a good time.

I gave a 'Poor' rating because of no distancing option on the upper deck of bus during Corona.

Thanks for your review – sorry that your experience was less than perfect! There seem to have been a couple of miscommunications though: There are 2 competing Light Festivals in Berlin: The ‘Festival of Lights’ which finished on 20th September and ‘Berlin Leuchtet’ which ran from 25th September to 4th October, i.e. during the time you took your tour with us. Arguably ‘Berlin Leuchtet’ is the smaller of the two but there are still quite a few buildings lit up, naturally on a slightly smaller scale this season. As you may understand, we cannot serve the Currywurst on the bus, but the voucher that was attached to your ticket could have been redeemed as advertised for a free Currywurst at our partner Curry Wolf at any time. I do apologise if this wasn’t communicated clearly enough. Live Guides are a feature on every Big Bus Tour in normal times, I hope that you can understand that in the current situation we are unable to provide them at the moment. We pride ourselves of our Corona-safe measure here in Berlin which are well ahead of the local competition here. It isn’t always easy to police the rules unfortunately. Hopefully we’ll be able to welcome you again on Big Bus Berlin or any of our other worldwide cities once things return to a new version of normal!

I can’t speak highly enough of Big Bus - in every city me and my fiancée have been to! Berlin was the most recent trip, and on my birthday we decided to give the bus and river cruise a go. The woman on the ground was exceptionally pleasant and took the time to speak with us whilst we waited for the bus. My German was only average, but she was patient with me and really boosted my confidence in the language. And then the routes were excellent, with plenty of information in there. My partner loved the live guides, saying they were both really welcoming and informative, and they answered a few questions some passengers had - so their knowledge was more than just what was on the script. I listened to the Spanish/French audios and they were very informative too.
Simon Johnson, who was been guiding us through our experience with Big Bus, has been nothing but professional, and I would highly recommend anyone wishing to see the city to use Big Bus.

10/10!

Fantastic walking tour with Freddie when in Berlin, it was informative and fun with lots of facts about the city through the ages. Freddie was compelling to listen to and bought Berlin to life with his retelling of events. Very fascinating and I would highly recommend this walking tour with the hop on hop off bus option.

We booked the 2 day incl.walking tour bus ticket.
The busses arrived on time, the live tracking via the app worked pretty good too. The bus takes you to all the popular sites . The audio commentary was okay as well. Just the right amount of information in my opinion (no one can remember all these things anyways). The ground floor of the busses had airconditioning which was a blessing as it was very hot during our stay.
There wasnt much social distancing though and people did take all the seats, not leaving spaces since the busses were quite full. Might have been better to have more busses driving during these corona times.

We did the walking tour with Freddi and it was brilliant. We got a ton of interesting facts from him. He was a wonderful guide! :)

With the tickets you get a free curry wurst as well. However since we dont eat pork, there wasnt really an alternative offer. So sadly we couldnt make use of that voucher.

Overall we had a very good experience with this bus company!

My wife, son, daughter and I bought a two-day ticket on the Big Bus in December 2019. We bought the ticket on-line which gives you a small discount. During my ten-day visit to Berlin by myself in August 2018 I had walked everywhere. But for my family and I and given that we only had three days in Berlin I think the Hop On Hop Off bus is a very good idea. There are six Hop On Hop Off bus companies in Berlin and my research indicated that the Big Bus Company was highly rated. The Red Route covers most (but not all) the key sights in Berlin. It was very convenient. We took a map and there was a commentary in English which you could listen to with earbuds provided by the Big Bus. The drivers were courteous. I prefer walking all around Berlin but if you are pressed for time in a short visit to Berlin than this is a very good idea.

we chose the 48 hour hop on hop off ticket , with the free walking tour at 1100 at the Brandenburg gate .the bus was great the guides knowledgable. we enjoyed the free walking tour as it was very interesting and not too long it visited all the areas we needed to see with a great explanation from our guide , we bought online and got the tickets prior to leaving home for about 28 pounds each.
