Nuremberg Old Town Walking Tour
From US$11.62
Overview
Learn about Nuremberg’s history and see its Old Town highlights on this guided tour. Save time navigating by following your guide to see sights such as Nuremberg Castle, St. Lawrence Church, Schoner Brunnen, and many other city attractions, some only accessible by foot. Hear commentary from your guide along the way, and end the trip in market square where you can continue to explore on your own.
What to Expect
Your day begins by meeting your guide at a central location. You’ll head to Nuremberg’s Old Town, admiring historic timber-framed houses, cobbled streets, and the scenic River Pegnitz along the way. Your guide enriches your experience by providing historical and cultural context about each sight.

Next stop is Nuremberg Castle (Kaiserburg), where you’ll hear about its history and see the excellently preserved medieval architecture. You’ll also learn about the home of famous artist Albrecht Dürer, and gain an understanding of Nuremberg’s association with the Third Reich.

Take a moment to admire the impressive spire of St. Lawrence Church, before heading to Schoner Brunnen (a replica of a historic water feature).

The tour ends at Hauptmarkt—Nuremberg’s main market square (and the setting of the Christmas market)—where you can continue to explore on your own.

Excellent guide

We enjoyed our waking tour with Reneta very much. Two hours was hardly enough to cover the rip of the iceberg of Nuremberg’s history, so we absolutely want to return for additional tours. The buildings and sites along the tour were great

Fall Walking Tour Was Crowded

The walking tour included too many people and the site was filled with school groups. I did not learn or see as much as I thought I would. I enjoyed the sites but the tour per se was less than expected.

Great tour

Our guide avoided references to WWII. She answered questions, but did not dwell on that period of history. The focus was on the pre and post war Nuremberg. If you want WWII history take a different tour.
