About
The impressive mountain scenery and the beautiful landscape of the Berchtesgadener Land will definitely fascinate you. A special bus and lift take you up to the Kehlsteinhaus at an altitude of 1,834m where you will be rewarded with spectacular views. Our guide will give a comprehensive summary of the historical events and answer any questions. Afterwards, we will have a short stop in the town of Berchtesgaden. The return journey via the German alpine road shows you the impressive valleys of Bavaria. In the event of bad weather conditions (fog, ice, snow) which make a trip up to the Kehlsteinhaus impossible, we offer the visit of the Berchtesgaden salt mines as an alternative.

Bechtesgaden town given equal showing to Eagle’s Nest
Francisca was awesome. She provided a mini city of Munich tour on our way in and out of town. She got us where we needed to go and adapted well to unexpected events. Her tour of Bechtesgaden town showed how knowledgeable she was of the area and the history.

Nest was Closed, but Great Experience
If you’re doing this experience towards the end of October, know that there is a chance the route to the Eagles Nest could be closed. (It does say this, but I want to stress it.)

We ended up doing the Salt Mine tour, which was very fun, interactive, and educational.

The tour guide and driver were great. Very knowledgeable and entertaining!

Foggy, foggy—don’t wait till end of season to go
Oct 2019 • Couples
We did not get to the Eagle’s Nest, as the fog was terrible. The attraction closed when we were about an hour out of Munich. Luckily, our excellent tour company had a back-up plan! We saw the museum and bunker for the Nest, the town of Berchestgaden (beautiful) and the Salt Works (fun and interesting). Disappointed that we couldn’t go to the mountain top, but no one controls the weather. Super-happy that the tour company had a Plan B. If you want to go on this specific tour, you should not wait till 3 days before the season ends. Otherwise, this is a lovely area with a knowledgeable guide and worth the trip.

Didn't get to see the eagles nest. Denied refund when service was not delivered
Oct 2019 • Couples
The tour we booked was supposed to go from Munich to the eagles nest. An hour into the drive to berchesgarten, approx 70km away from Munich the tour guide informed the group that we would be unable to go to the eagles nest due to bad weather... snow apparently, it was 14°c at the documentation centre which is just below the nest with no evidence of snow. As an alternative, but at no lesser cost we were told that a trip to a salt mine was being organised. My girlfriend and I were not happy with this and left the tour at berchesgarten train station. We paid £80 for the trip, which was essentially for us a very expensive lift to berchesgarten train station. After contacting trip advisor for a refund they looked into and contacted the tour owner who is called Mentor. He decided that we were only entitled to a 25 % refund of the original £80. The lady who was acting as the tour guide was very knowledgeable and apologetic for the situation. The mini bus was modern and well maintained but slightly cramped. Overall the tour did not deliver what we paid for and should be avoided, especially when they deny a refund for unfulfilled services.

Due to very strong fog, the special buses did not go up to Eagle's Nest. This decision is not ours and therefore beyond our responsibility! The tour took place as described in case of bad weather, so as an alternative the visit of the Salt Mine. Therefore, we consider a refund of 25%, which we were not obliged to, to be fair, especially as our driver drove extra to the train station Berchtesgaden.

Do not miss this trip, ever!
Oct 2019 • Couples
Visited the Eagle's Nest on a rainy day in Munich. Despite that, the warmness of the female guide ensured that this is one of the best day tours we ever had! The view was beautiful and scenic. The guide is so knowledgeable about the history of Germany and Hitler and the Eagle's Nest. Tour does not include the fees to the bus and entry to the mountain top. Highly recommended!

Amazing Day at Eagle's Nest
Oct 2019
We recently took a beautiful drive from Munich to the famed Eagle's Nest property given to Adolf Hitler by the Nazi party. After arriving at the bus parking area at the bottom of the mountain, we boarded buses that transported us up to the drop off area. A short walk through a tunnel and ride up to the top in the same decorative elevator used by Hitler we emerged inside Eagle's Nest. Once outside on the viewing area, we found some of the most spectacular images of the Alps and surrounding valley areas below imaginable. Following a lunch of veal schnitzel and German beer (not included in the tour price), we had time to wander the paths surrounding the building for more amazing views. We were blessed with clear, sunny weather, which I am told is not always the case. That allowed perfect viewing for miles away. I highly recommend this tour and the professional guide (Franzica) and driver. We have taken Viator tours around the world and have yet to experience a negative one.
