Smooth meeting up with the tour and liked having the early time to avoid the longer waits - we did the 9:15 tour. Mo gave many tips and fun facts and shared some fun spots for photos!

Our tour guide Joanna T was excellent. Native to Australia but resident in Paris, Joanna delivered her tour with the excitement and enthusiasm of someone who has fallen in love with Paris’s charms and her admiration for the city and its culture came across in the detail she shared with us. Whilst there is a still abit of queuing to be done on the way up, we didn’t really feel it as Joanna kept us entertained and ushered us through the queues and security checks with ease. Albeit it was not our first trip to the Eiffel Tower it was by far my most informed visit. It was our son’s first visit to Paris and the tower and Joanna was very patient and answered all his questions. We would highly recommend this tour experience if not for the fact they help navigate you through the queues which could be chaotic especially when it’s busy. And if you’re lucky enough to have Joanna as your guide you’ll learn alot and be kept entertained on the way up!

clear meeting instructions and lots of fun after that! our guide fortune was knowledgable and has a great sense of humour. we summited at sundown so managed to experience the views in daylight as well as watch the evening city lights. really cold and windy up there in the middle of december so make sure you dress warm and be ready to get in lines for anything at all on the tower.

We had Sid as our tour guide and he made what should be a very boring few hours of waiting in line turn out to be really fun and interesting. Not going to lie, expect to wait 2-4 hours in line just to be able to get up there. Only alternative is the e tickets which has a far less wait time but this can have a 6 month waiting period in the peak season. Other alternative I can recommend is don’t do the morning and pick a time in the late evening 7pm or later when there is less people and buy a ticket to go up. Sid helped me out and gave me a lot of tips for Paris which were great so thanks Sid! Whilst the tour isn’t necessary to visit the tower it was still fun doing it in a group and chatting with other fellow travellers for the 4 hours you will be waiting around with.

I booked five tickets to go by elevator to the second etage and then by elevator the top floor. At the beginning all went well with our guide meeting us at the appointed hour and giving us a detailed briefing.
Booking a ticket in advance does not give one a “jump the line” privilege. Instead, we had to join the general queue to access the elevator to the second floor.
While waiting in line we were informed that the top floor was not open due to overcrowding, which, according to our guide, was a regular /daily occurrence. We were informed that we would be entitled to a partial refund, but this is poor compensation for such inefficiency. I could not understand why there is not a system of limiting the time spent by visitors on the top floor.
Our guide was Sylvie, who provided a very informative commentary.

I would not recommend this tour company. My wife and I purchased an Eiffel Tower tour for 12/9/23 that included a trip to the top/summit of the Tower. Let me preface my comments by saying that our tour guide, Nina, was very nice and welcoming. The weather was terrible the day of our tour. It rained the entirety of our tour and was very cold/windy. Obviously, the tour company cannot control the weather and we understand that! But make sure you read the fine print of your tour details. Despite buying tickets in advance, we still had to wait in line in the rain for an hour with the general public. In fact, our tour guide didn’t even purchase the admission tickets for our tour group until we got to the front of the line (which is the same process for the general public), so I don’t understand the benefit of buying tickets in advance. Prior to getting on the elevator, we were told that the summit was closed due to weather, which was a bummer as we were very much looking forward to that. When we finally got up to the lower/mid part of the Tower, our guide started the tour. However, it was so windy that it was difficult to hear our guide. That, coupled with how cold/rainy it was, made the tour unbearable. As a result, the majority of our tour group stopped the tour within the first couple minutes and went inside to explore on our own. Also, for a paid tour, I think it’s reasonable to expect our tour guide to recite facts/knowledge from memory (or mostly from memory at least). Our guide simply read off pieces of paper that were in a binder, and with a large group, it was hard to even see the facts/pictures on the paper. Due to our rough experience, our tour guide was nice enough to offer us a refund a few days after the tour. On 12/12/23, she emailed us and said the following: “ I just wanted to know if you've all had your money back? Please let me know, if it's not the case, I'll make it necessary.” I responded and thanked her, and let her know that we had not received our refund yet. Our tour guide then provided us with the refund link, which I completed. Customer service reached out to me via email and said that they would not be providing a refund because we still went on the tour. I informed them that the majority (if not all) of our group did not complete the tour due to the reasons outlined above. They emailed me back and again indicated that they would not provide a refund. This is after our own tour guide said she would make a refund “necessary”. I have asked for at least a partial refund for the additional cost we paid to visit the summit of the Tower. It’s not fair that the tour company gets to pocket that money. As of today, still no refund at all. If that changes, I can update my review. The tour itself wasn’t great, but the unprofessional response from the company regarding the refund is what prompted this negative review.

Thanks for leaving your feedback. It is frustrating when the Eiffel Tower closes the summit and we do our best to advise about this in our description so at least our guests will know it is possible this could happen. I noticed you said Nina, was very nice and welcoming and I'm hoping this means you liked your guide. A good guide is something we are able to control. The summit closing is out of our control and if the summit closes you will get your partial refund for that portion. lease email us at info@exp1.com I hope we hear from you soon and wish you safe travels! I highly recommend that you do not waste your time/money here, and simply arrive to the Eiffel Tower early to purchase your own tickets.

My family was in Paris for vacation and we decided we wanted to visit the Eiffel Tower. We had 11 people so were split into two groups. This wasn’t a problem. The problems began when the first group left, and we stood by for about 15 minutes doing nothing. The first group were the front of the line to enter the elevator. My group waited in line for 90 minutes. I want to be clear that the website does advise you may wait long, but I didn’t understand why we were so far behind.

No worries though, because the website said “rest assured that your guide will keep you entertained and provide insightful information about the Eiffel Tower while you wait in line together.” Our guide “Max” had us in line and spoke very little. In fact, he was on his phone most of the time. He told us we would wait in line then go up in the elevator, and that was it. We learned nothing and were provided with absolutely no insight to the Eiffel Tower. We were lucky that the tour guide in the group next to us was very loud and active, because that is where we got our entertainment from.

So after this wait with no interaction from our guide, we were instructed to take the lift up. We go up the lift, and waited at the top, and never saw our guide again. The rest of the time was our self-guided tour. We read the posted information ourselves. Altogether, we paid about €302 ($330 USD) for a family of five. Had we known this is how the experience would be, we would have paid €90 for five €18 tickets.

I contacted the trip company for a refund, or at least a refund on the tour experience. I would have been happy to pay the €18/person, refunding the rest of the experience, but the company offered a credit good for five years. While that is thoughtful, this was a trip for my family who live in three different countries. We came together for a week in Paris and don’t expect to return anytime soon. Therefore, this credit doesn’t do much to help. I am moving forward with my credit card company to work on an actual refund for services not provided.

To sum up, find another tour company, or go to the Eiffel Tower 1 hour before opening to get front of the line tickets.

I am extremely disappointed! I booked this tour on 10th of November with a tour date of 14th of November. The booking details stated that "For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours in advance of the start time of the experience". I cancelled the booking on the 11th of November (well before the 24 hour deadline) and nearly a month later I am still waiting for my refund. I tried the online chat function, the bot insisted that the refund had been made however I definitely have not received the funds. There seems to be no way of getting in touch with anyone about this so the full refund offered is clearly false, very disappointed!

Absolutely brutal. Just buy your ticket at the tower. If you go to the tower website, it looks like they are sold out…but that is just for online tickets. Tickets are available same day walk up for 20 euro. These tours gouge you with highly marked up tickets. With the website telling you the tower is sold out, you think these expensive tours are your only option.

The day of our tour, the tower decided to not open until 11am due to labor disputes…welcome to France. Our tour guide offered refunds which our entire group took advantage of as she said we can just buy the tickets at the window…which we did. However, I only got a refund of $170 (Canadian dollars) when I paid $240 (for 2 people). Our tickets were for the tower and the river cruise. It was our last day in Paris, and due to the late opening, we were late for our lunch reservation (Substance…highly recommended) and thus couldn’t use the cruise tickets. The company told me they can only refund the tower portion and I can use the cruise tickets for one year. I’m not going back to Paris within the next year! So I’m out $70 for nothing. These tours are a scam. In the lineup they show you crappy old photos from a binder and regale you with ‘fun facts’. When you get on the tower, you are in your own…the guide admitted that to us and she encouraged us to take the refund as we had already received most of ‘the tour’ while waiting in line. There was also no garauntee you get up to the summit even if you purchased summit access. So bizarre.

Thank you for this valuable feedback. We do our best to let our guests know there could be a wait time on the line, and we strive to bring value to the experience by enhancing the visit with an expert guide to provide stories and history and also to lead the way through the tower. We sometimes encounter difficult ticket operators at the Eiffel Tower who make our guides' jobs harder in this way you describe. We are always working on ways to improve this process with the Eiffel Tower and it is unfortunate your experience was impacted by the organization at the tower. If you could provide the name of your guide this would be extra helpful so we can find out from them what happened and help them and also we can track down the ticket staff and clear up any issues they are having with discerning age groups. It is frustrating when the Eiffel Tower closes the summit and we do our best to advise about this in our description so at least our guests will know it is possible this could happen. The summit closing is out of our control and if the summit closes you will get your partial refund for that portion. We are always looking for ways to improve our guest experiences and any feedback would be useful and appreciated. Thanks again and we wish you safe travels always! Sergio

I read many reviews from other travelers warning against using guide services. Against my better judgement, I booked a guide service anyway. When we got to the Eiffel Tower, I was under the impression we had our tickets and the guide would take us right up. I was wrong. The guide did not have the tickets because he wasn’t sure how many other travelers would be in our group. So instead of going to the direct line with pre-purchased tickets, we had to wait in the MASSIVE line to have our guide purchase tickets for our entire group. We wasted an hour waiting to purchase tickets. I would recommend buying tickets ahead of time on your own- through the official Eiffel Tower website- and then heading there on your own. You can easily read about the history before you go. I wish we hadn’t wasted our time and money on this guide service.

Thanks for reaching out. We appreciate your feedback. As it states on the listing, there is no skip-the-line entry included in this tour. When you book this tour you are paying for the entrance ticket plus the guided tour from our expert guides. If you were to purchase the entrance tickets alone you would not receive a guided tour and we take pride in our guides’ ability to provide an engaging and unique experience for our guests.

This review is a comment on the Paris pass, sold by Go City (see my separate review of this company and pass). With the Explorer pass sold by Go City, this tour is the only available option for Eiffel Tower.
Essentially, you meet the guide 15-30 minutes before. We had Masha, who tried her best under impossible conditions. The guide then leads you through security, after which you will join a 2 hour queue to get tickets. There is NO OPTION for climbing the tower, even if you are able bodied. There is NO SKIP THE LINE. If you buy a Go City Explorer pass, you will wait and wait for the elevator up the Tower.
Masha was excellent, and provided lots of great info. Go City/ Paris pass, on the other hand, are truly awful.

Thanks for this feedback. I am glad to hear you found our guide lovely and informative and found the information interesting and fun. We are never happy to hear that someone did not enjoy their experience with us and I appreciate that you pointed out we do not offer "skip the line" with this experience. Our goal is that the guide will make the occasional wait times worthwhile and I see this is not the case with you. Your feedback is extremely valuable as it helps us identify where we can make improvements, and so I thank you again for this. Nihad.
