This was my 5th time to Paris, and was looking to experience a day outside the city. Was on the fence whether to take the small group or larger bus tour, but was very happy with my decision to hire the small group. Ended up making friends with the other travelers and our awesome guide, Will. Will educated us with insightful history and information prior to making a stop. The trip does not include guided tours within each stop, which I may have enjoyed too, but overall a great friendly experience!Written 13 February 2025
- Lisa K0 contributionsDon’t miss Normandy! The sites and experiences were unmatched. As Americans, this was a personal journey for us to pay respects to our fallen heros of yesteryear. Our guide, Nisa, was fabulous. She was so welcoming and treated us like friends from the beginning. Her English is great and she gave us so many little details that enriched the experience. We highly recommend this tour. Ask to be in Nisa’s group!Written 13 February 2025
- tommya2870 contributionsAmazing Experience with an amazing guide and great company. Our tour guide, Brunie was absolutely amazing. She is an expert in her field, kind, funny, patient, and made sure my spouse and I were treated like VIP’s. I cannot say enough about her not only as a tour guide, but as a person. Blue Fox is fortunate to have her on their team. The tour from beginning to end was top notch. After having a different company cancel this same tour on us last year, we were pleasantly surprised at how incredible this experience was. Recommend 10/10.Written 12 February 2025
- clemens4950 contributionsEnjoyable trip - never regretOur guide Andrew was amaing, very knowledge and pleasant. Went out of his way to ensure everyone was aware of all aspects of the Juno history plus more. He Even enjoyed all the non-Juno questions/trivia questions by one of our group members - tOn the return trip, as it was getting late, and being a group of all ladies, he didn't feel comfortable bringing us back to the pick up point, so he brought us to a much safer location and closer to our hotels - that was very appreciated by all - as most host wouldn't - highly recommend this event. Our only wish we had more time to explore all that was in the area - but that will be for another time. Good job Blue Fox.Written 9 February 2025
- Vyyy0 contributionsChablis and IrancyThe first tasting was at Jean-Marc Brocard, and the winery was cute, and the staff was knowledgeable and welcoming. We had the opportunity to sample a great selection of whites. However, visiting in the winter felt a bit underwhelming. The vineyards were bare, and there was hardly anyone around, which made the atmosphere feel a little lifeless. The highlight of the tour was definitely the second tasting room, which was set inside a cave dating back to the 12th century. It was an incredible experience to sip wine in such a historic and atmospheric setting. The dim lighting, cool stone walls, and rich history made it feel like we had stepped back in time. It was truly a unique and memorable part of the tour. Our tour guide, Olivier, was wonderful—friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the wines and the region. He shared fascinating insights about the winemaking process and the history of the estate. Later in the tour, he even recommended a fantastic restaurant Le Soufflot in the village of Irancy, which was a great way to continue our experience with local food and wine. If you’re looking for a lively and immersive experience, I’d suggest planning your visit for a time when the vineyards are in full bloom and there’s more activity.Written 7 February 2025
- Journey1893890 contributionsTime well spent. The visit to Normandy and the D-Day invasion sites was sobering and inspirational. Even extreme wind, rain, and cold temperatures could not dull the emotional impact of the geography and of what happened there so many decades ago. Our ride was comfortable. Our guide was knowledgable and gregarious. We felt that our needs, both practical and those reflected in our desire to learn, were met. We would recommend this experience, and this company, without reservation.Written 5 February 2025

I visited Giverny many years ago, traveling from Paris by regular train, then having to wait for the bus to Monet's garden, which only ran 3 or 4 times a day. And the same for the return journey. The trip took all day. So much better this time to go on the afternoon tour with Blue Fox Travel in a minibus, holding just 8 people, which takes about 5 hours. Our English-speaking guide gave us some background information en route during the hour-long journey, but also allowed us to quietly enjoy the scenery or even take a nap. I had wanted to take the morning tour, but she pointed out that that was particularly crowded because cruise ships disgorge hundreds of passengers in the morning. But the afternoon is still very busy at Giverny, and our guide skillfully made slight adjustments to the order of the itinerary, so that we would avoid the peak period of crowding in the gardens. As it was, it was late afternoon when she let us loose to explore, by which time the number of visitors strolling in the gardens was by no means overwhelming. I had not expected there to be much variety of flowers in bloom in late September, but was pleasantly surprised. We were blessed with a host of different colors and unfamiliar plants bordering the paths leading up to the house. The view Monet and his family had of the garden from the upstairs rooms was a real treat, too. An unhurried walk around the famous pond with the water lilies, reached by a tunnel under the road, was also a delight. Again, what made this such a perfect day was the thoughtfulness of our guide. I can thoroughly recommend this Blue Fox tour.

Hi GeoffreyG829 ,
Thanks for your detailed review.
It is quite a challenge to go to Givenry on your own, however, the advantage is that you can spend as much time as you want in the gardens.
Free time on our tour is a bit limited, as the tour lasts 5 hours, including road.
Our guides are truly passionate about art and culture and will give you a little lesson in the interesting facts about the lives of Parisian artists of the time.
Thank you very much for appreciating the organization of our tour, we are glad that you are satisfied with it.
We invite you to visit the french castles with Blue Fox Travel!
Kind regards,
- Alice

I got a last-minute spot on this half-day tour to Giverny, organised by Blue Fox.
The tour lasted for a total of 4.5 hours. As promised in the description, we were a small group of 8 people in a minicoach.
I did the 2pm tour at the end of May. Our first stop was Monet's grave, where our tour guide gave a thorough explanation of everything that needed to be covered for the entire duration of the tour.
Thereafter, we went to Monet's Home, Garden, and the Pond, where he painted the Water Lillies. I could've easily spent half a day there, staring at the water and the flowers.
The site is crowded, so you are forced to follow a single queue. I've read lots of negative reviews from travellers who complained that the tour guide didn't accompany them inside the site. But if you visit the site at peak times, you will notice that there's no space for tour guides to stop with their groups, which is why they don't accompany you.
The queue leading up to Monet's house was too long for my liking, so I chose to skip it. Instead, I strolled around the picturesque village.
Final thoughts: 2 hours wasn't enough to cover the site as well as the village. I would like to revisit the site at a quiet time of year.
Traveller tip: Buy 'skip the line' tickets in advance. Carry cash (euros), as some shops and cafes in the village don't take card payments.

Our tour was excellent! Our tour guide Clement did a wonderful job guiding us and providing information on Monet, his house, his gardens, and his burial. The van transport pickup was easy to find, and the van was clean and comfortable. We had plenty of time in both gardens, the house, the gift shop, and the church where Money is buried. Our group included two 30-somethings and three 60-somethings, and we all highly recommend this tour to anyone considering!

We picked this tour because it had great reviews and there were weekend train closures over the weekend, so we couldn't get there ourselves. On arriving at the meeting point, the check-in process was confusing- guides were not clearly visible. We had Kezia as our guide- he was nice but lacked enthusiasm. We did not learn very much and felt there was little information and detail provided. Kezia was not very engaging as a guide. The tour was not worth the price we paid and I would not recommend this tour. The Giverny House and gardens themselves were lovely. The house was very crowded around the middle of the day with extremely slow moving lines.

This was a fantastic outing! Our guide, Olivier, was knowledgeable, interesting and funny. I learned a lot about Money as a person aside from him as an artist. If you’re lucky enough to hear Olivier’s story, you’ll understand that he does what he enjoys and reflects in the quality of his tour. He was simply great!
Onto the tour! A few words of warning first. Monet’s cottage and gardens are extremely busy. This is not the fault of the tour operators, rather it is a lack of organization on the part of the company opening Monet’s gardens to the public. There is no system in place to stagger visitors which means multiple small group tours and large tour busses arrive all at once and the property can be chaotic with huge crowds. If your tour guide gives your group a certain amount of free time to wander the grounds, there is a good chance you’ll miss at least one part due to overcrowding, especially entrance to the cottage.
With that in mind, the grounds are absolutely stunning! We went in late June when the flowers were in full bloom and it is a sight to behold. If you love gardening or nature in general, you can’t help but appreciate the beauty of the gardens. This tour was a highlight of our trip. If you go into it keeping in mind the information above, I’m confident you will enjoy visiting this fairytale-like property. It is a must see.

Hello bloomingsmurf,
Thank you for your important review.
It's true, the gardens are crowded because they are open only in the summer season. It is often the highlight of tourists visiting Paris :)
We are glad that the Monet gardens fascinated you.
We invite you to join our other tours.
How about a castle tour?

Our tour guide Valerie was excellent and made the trip a great one. The gardens were especially crowded at our arrival (on Saturday, the busiest day) but she was able to give a great history of Monet and the garden. We were given plenty of free time to roam afterwards, which is perfect to enjoy the serenity with loved ones.
We traveled to Giverny in a roomy van down tiny rural roads, an experience you certainly won't get in a big coach bus. This is the way to go! The Monet gardens are even more stunning in person and I'd strongly recommend this tour.

Wow.. just wow! We had an excellent guide who was a pistol and a joy! Knowledgeable of Monet, his home, the village. Her suggestion to visit a spot and return a bit later to experience the changes in light, that Monet lived and painted was spot on. So beautiful, calm and peaceful. You can imagine Monet moving around the grounds. Catch the early first tour of the day if possible. We did and even so we encountered a group of 40 German bicyclists with their tour guide that tried to muscle past us in line. Our spitfire of a guide was not having it! LOL! So for a good half our it felt it was just our little group there walking in the awesome gardens of Monets genius. By the time we left......the lines to enter were so long it was intimidating. Glad we caught the earlier tour. Afterwards our guide led us across the town to the churches and gravesites of note, sharing stories and incites, I had never heard before. I would do this tour again, it was that good and beautiful to experience.

Excellent half-day tour to see Monet’s gardens in Giverny. The bus was comfortable and having a small group was great. Our tour guide, Brunhild, was fun and knowledgeable about Monet but also WWII history in the Normandy area and was generous sharing her stories. The tour started at a good time to get to the gardens before the worst of the crowds and having priority access with a group was well worth joining a tour. Plenty of time to see the gardens and house before arriving back in Paris for lunch. Strongly recommend!

The tour was very well run. The information we received in advance of the tour clearly described where we should be and what time we should arrive. Our tour guide, Sara, was ready for us at the designated time and our group actually left ahead of schedule since everyone was there 15 minutes before the departure time. The van used for the tour seemed brand new, and was very clean. Sara did a great job of providing information along the way. We were the second small group admitted to Monet's garden. Sara made sure to get us to the water gardens first. This allowed us to enjoy the water garden while there were very few visitors there. It almost felt like our small group had the water garden to ourselves. Sara took great pictures of each couple on one of the bridges. We had ample time to explore the water garden, Monet's house and the flower garden on our own. We then went for a quick tour of the cemetery where Monet and most of his family are buried before returning to Paris on time . Sara was quite engaging, accommodating and enthusiastic throughout the tour.

45 minutes late! Tour was called for 8 am and we were told to be at the meeting point at 7:45 am. In my opinion if we are told to arrive at 7:45 am the tour guide and vehicle should be there as well.
After waiting with 16 people finally at about 8:05 am one van and one guide showed up. The groups were of 8 each so we were waiting on the other guide and vehicle.
He nicely explained that 2 people called out sick, that Paris traffic is bad ( true but still) and some other reasons which all rolled into all 16 of us standing on a cold damp morning on the street corner meeting place. The one guide who has arrived at 8:05 am kept saying theother guide and vehicle would be there in 10 minutes. He said that for the next 35 minutes.
My husband and I considered leaving after about 35 or 40 minutes because this was very off putting.
Finally at 8:45 the other driver and vehicle arrived.
Both guides were nice but I find this totally unacceptable. They informed us that we would not miss anything and would still get our full 4 hours. The drive is 1 hour each way so that was already 2 of our 4 hours. I appreciate that they were able to fulfill our entire program however the delay and being left waiting is not acceptable.
I did enjoy my experience one we finally got started. The guide was knowledgeable and very personable.
Don’t know if I would use trip advisor again based on this experience.

Hey there HilaryS251,
We are sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with your tour.
We will take this feedback and forward to the guide who did your tour, so they may improve.
It is very rare that we have 2 guides call in sick on the same day and our guides did they best to help you on site.
We thankfully found replacements last minute.
We are sorry that you were kept waiting while we figured out the situation behind the scenes.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

If the tour is only 4 1/2 hours long, how can you drive 1 1/2 hours each way and spend 4 1/2 hours at Giverny? Does that mean 4 1/2 hours PLUS the drive to and from Paris?
Written 2 June 2022
As I recall we left Paris at 8AM, arrived Monet’s Gardens at 9:00, saw gardens, home, cemetery and left Giverny at 11:30 to arrive back in Paris at 12:30pm.

If th tour is cancelled for lack of visitors, does the full refund mean full refund to credit card or a credit for a future trip?
Written 26 October 2021
I don't think they cancel if it turns out to be a small group. I went on the last day of the season for this tour, and there was only one other person besides myself and we still went.
I had to cancel a tour on my last trip though, and they refunded directly to my credit card.

Are there English speaking tour guides? Is it better to visit in the morning or afternoon in August?
Written 21 February 2020
Yes there are lots of English speaking tours. August could get warm so I would go in the morning. Better light too than midday for photos.

Just wondering if there are tour dates for early December? None are showing up.
Thanks

It may be closed in December. Please check the gardens direct website to see if closed. Obviously, no tours if grounds are closed

We used Viator skip the line for the Louvre. We received a voucher and had to stand in line for hours for our actual ticket. A disaster. I see this Giverny tour is also Viator but has great reviews. Do I get my actual ticket when booking? Is there an additional step required as in the Louvre experience?

Yes, you skip the line at the entrance but it’s still very busy once inside the gardens.

Does the tour accept wheelchair?
Written 23 June 2019
I am not sure. Do you need an accessible van because I do know the trip goes in a regular van. Once there I believe you could go through the gardens with a wheelchair the only thing you would not be able to do would be the house because it has many stairs

Do you have just one language on a tour or do you have several languages on one tour where the guide has to repeat each sentence in each different language?

The store that I took was an all English tour. No other languages no waiting for interpretations
