Overview
The village of St-Emilion, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of Bordeaux’s most famous wine appellations. On this tour, enjoy wine tasting at a grand cru classified chateau in the area, explore the historic village on a guided walking tour, and enjoy free time for shopping and sightseeing.
Highlights
  • Guided wine tasting at a grand cru wine estate
  • Hassle-free round-trip transport from Bordeaux
  • Choice of morning or afternoon departure
  • Guided walking tour of St-Emilion
What to Expect
After pickup from central Bordeaux, set out on the journey to St-Emilion, traveling by air-conditioned minibus. Along the way, stop to visit a grand cru classified wine chateau in the St-Emilion wine region and enjoy a tour of the estate. As you stroll around the vineyards, learn about the winemaking process, the importance of “terroir,” and the different cru classifications of French wine. Finally, sample a selection of Bordeaux wines during a guided tasting. Continue to the hilltop town of Saint-Emilion and enjoy a guided walking tour of the picturesque medieval village. After taking in the highlights, enjoy free time to purchase lunch (own expense) at a local restaurant, browse the shops, or visit the town’s wine cellars. Depending on time and your group’s preferences, there may also be chance to stop at another winery on the way back to drop-off in Bordeaux.
