Highly recommend for anyone, wanting to learn more history about Sligo, I had no idea how much history was here, even some of the battles that went down. And the ties to Dracula. The tour guide was absolutely incredibly knowledgeable, I would also recommend this for anyone who lives in Sligo. As even my bed-and-breakfast host did not know about all of the history, and said she herself wanted to go. I will say that you have to be able to stand on your feet and walk a little bit of distance, so this probably wouldn’t be good for someone elderly and less they were in a wheelchair. But either way, I am more than confident that they could be accommodated in someway.

Went on the Dark Stories tour Saturday June 5th for a little somrthing different. Very enjoyable tour & plenty of local knowledge shared.
We were brought to Sligo Jail, Sligo Abbey, The Courthouse & then on to the resting places of the Stoker family with lots of little snippets along the way. Our group had the privalege of an inside tour of the Sligo Courthaouse which was an added bonus to a very, very good experience.
Would definetely recommend if your in the area.

There is not enough stars on this app to rate the excellence of this tour. I never experienced such an amazing guided tour of Sligo. Melissa is such a passionate guide and a wonderful human being, she gave me a private tour for almost 3 hours ! And time just flew quickly as all her stories were so deeply fascinating.
This tour was the most amazing I had in my whole life, I can’t recommend this enough. Melissa definitely knows how to bring the past back to life ! Just brilliant thank you so much ❤️💫

Meliissa is a wonderful guide - passionate & informative. A great walk through the town - filled with lively stories about rogues, struggles, old landmarks. We ended up in the old graveyard at St Johns Church , full of atmosphere ! I definitely recommend this tour !

Melissa provided a wealth of knowledge on Sligo and world history. She tailored the tour to my wife and I with personal connections and stories to Sligo. She really went above and beyond with our tour and it was extremely fascinating! She is a wonderful historian and a true professional! Doing a tour with her is a must!

We were all assigned a character from the "dark" history of Sligo that was being presented on our tour which made the tour even more engaging for everyone present. Most of the tour group happened to be from in and around Sligo and we all learned something new about our town from our guide Mel! I'd never been up to see Sligo Gaol before! It was a very interesting way to spend a sunny Saturday evening and I'd certainly recommend it to both locals and visitors.

Our group of 20 had a fabulous time on the Dark Tales walking tour with the delightful Melissa. A really insightful tour of the history of Sligo and it's association with Bram Stoker.

We're from Sligo and we found that we knew very little about the dark history of Sligo. Melissa was informed and delivered the information with passion. The weather on the night was perfect and added to the atmosphere for the tour. Would recommend.
