    Guided walk of Corrán Tuathail
We went with a group of secondary school students to climb Corrán Tuathail with Risteard and his colleagues this May. As we set off we were given local information on the glacial features around us as well as old stories along the walk. Both Risteard and his colleagues made plenty stops for us as we made our way to the top. The highlight for us was that they spoke as Gaeilge which was important as our school is in the Gaeltacht. Hence, this guided walk has the added bonus for anyone with the cúpla focal. I would highly recommend Risteard to guide you on a walk of Kerry’s mountains, and we will be back again in the future. Míle buíochas daoibh don lá iontach a chaitheamar i gCiarraí. Bhaineamar go léir an-sult as agus beimid ar ais arís!

Beautiful and definitely work seeing with the guide
My daughters 9 and 11 went with James. Gorgeous scenery. I definitely could not have figured out where to go without him. He had a lot of useful local information. Very nice man and kind soul. Would recommend to anyone looking for an interesting walk in a beautiful place.

    Turas Locha/Trip on the Lake.
Bhí lá an deas againn, mé féin is mo bhean is m'iníon. We enjoyed the lovely fine day on the lake day very much. This guided tour for Gaelic speakers was led by the most genial and knowledgeable guide Richard Clancy. The boatman was equally pleasant and entertaining. Dinis Cottage Restaurant on the little island was charming.

    'Climb to Corrán tuathaiĺ'
My first time climbing Carrantwohill and had a wonderful day as a group of mixed ages under the guidance of Richard who encouraged us to do it in our stride, and amazing to reach the summit and explore the beautiful view from Ireland's highest mountain. We started climb via.'Devils Ladder and returned via 'Heavenly Gates'. It was all a lovely experience. However my opinion is that the 'Devils Ladder is easier as you have more passageway overall.

    Climb to Corrán Tuathail
Richard guided us to the top of Ireland's highest mountain, via the Devil's Ladder. Tough but had a great sense of achievement. The day started out misty, but Richard was patient and knowledgeable, we dallied for ten minutes and the sun came out. We returned via Heavenly Gates which was longer and harder than the Ladder. But the payback was the the spectacular views. We encouraged each other, took photos. We were never under pressure. Had a moment for quiet personal prayer in the midst of such majestic scenery.

A family adventure in the Killarney National Park
The scenery is beautiful and Richard and Rua are excellent guides: friendly and full of information. I would reccomend this walk to anyone: as myself, my 6 and 11 year old all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you, Richard & Rua.

    A fun afternoon with Richard
Richard managed to maintain our 19 teenagers' attention throughout the afternoon, introducing them to the red deer, the cinnabar moth and the dancing rock! We had a beautiful glimpse of irish nature and Richard made us feel both comfortable and sporty! We hope to meet Rua next time!

Tour of Killarney national park as gaeilge
We spent a lovely Saturday being guided by Richard through the park and lakes. He is a knowledgeable guy and very friendly. He also has a gorgeous dog called Rua. I brought my young kids and they enjoyed it especially the boat trip. Bhí lá iontach againn, go raibh mile maith agat a Risteard.

    Summer walk in Killarney
Highly recommend this walk. A convivial guide and a hapoy group of walkers. A good paced walk which catered for a 20 year age range.Very interesting facts as Richard has so much local knowledge. A pleasure to spend two hours walking through greenery through woods and down to the lake. If I am lucky enough to return to Killarney I will be walking with Richard again.

    Stunning walk
We went on this walk on a gorgeous sunny day. We were a little apprehensive as our little ones are a bit young for walking but we really had no need to worry. We were met by a very obliging host who just wanted to make the walk suitable for all. Rao the photo bombing dog was gorgeous too. We did our walk around Ross castle and the girls loved playing in the fairy trees. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. A perfect morning walk - even the girls enjoyed it ( although we bribed them with food!)

Superb guide with a genuine interest and passion for the outdoors
On the 29th of July we set off with Richard and his magnificent red setter Rua to walk Mangerton woods and Torc mountain. In July 2016 20 of us had a fantastic day out on Inisfallon Island on the lakes(well worth a visit) with Richard as our guide. Thus we decided to return as a family of 6 this summer and head out again with Richard. His relaxed nature and local knowledge makes any trip a totally enjoyable experience. He is a gaelgoir and our children liked the" comhra as gaeilge" he also does a question and answer session on plants trees and flowers which was great fun, we were out for 5 hours having brought a picnic.we look forward to returning next year

Great walk through Killarney National Park
Richard was a really excellent guide- he knew a lot about the area and was talkative without feeling the need to talk for the whole 2 hour walk. He's also willing to take pictures of you if you ask! We had a small group, so he just drove us right to Ross Castle, then we spent the tour going on small deer paths instead of taking the main roads, which was nice! And his Irish setter was very sweet and definitely the cutest tour guide in all of Ireland! It's a cheap tour, but definitely very good and worth paying for instead of just walking around by yourself.

Its great to forget about the world wide health crisis for a while, and no better way to do that than to have a good walk in the great outdoors of Killarney National Park. Thanks for walking with me it was my pleasure to show you some of the places I love, and I hope you can return to see some more. Slán go fóill (bye a while).

Richard was a lovely guide who took us to some nice spots along the lake while informing us of local history. I definitely recommend him if you want a local's view of Killarney. He very kindly took some photos of us as well. Rua was a little too tired to join us that day, but meeting her was a pleasure. And of course, Killarney is beautiful in any weather!

Yes Rua my red setter guide was tired that morning so only walked a short distance with us. We were lucky to get some nice Spring weather to walk around the shores of Loch Léin in the nice natural woodland of old oak, beech, holly, and other native trees. Thanks very much for walking with me ,and writing a great review. Slán go fóill (bye a while)

We thoroughly enjoyed our adventure through Killarney National Park and Richard was a lovely man with a rich knowledge of Killarney's history, it was pleasure to hear him reminisce about his experiences growing up in Killarney which offered a perspective of the park that only a local could share. The park was absolutely gorgeous, vast and green and clean, we even got to see a few deer! He took us right down to one of the lakes within the park and gave us plenty of time to wander around to take photos and admire the view. It was a great experience and one of the most enjoyable parts of our trip.

You are back home again but i am happy that you brought good memories of your visit to the Emerald Isle. This part of the National Park is so close to where i was born, and bred that i like to call it my back garden and i have walked it thousands of times. So i have plenty of stories about the place but most people are happy just to view the scenery, as Irelands highest mountains are to be seen across Loch Léin, and we usually see some deer as well. Mile maith agat (a thousand thanks) for walking with me, and for writing a great view.

A great morning’s walk in the National Park, Killarney with Richard our guide. He knew all the spots to capture views of the Lake and mountains and to round it all up we encountered a herd of wild red deer. Highly recommend!

I am delighted you enjoyed the walk so much, Killarney National Park has a lot to offer not just the beautiful scenery of lakes, woods, and mountains but things like the red deer you mentioned. We also have the smaller breed of sika deer which were introduced here from Wicklow in 1865. Thank you for the great review, and please call again. Slán go fóill (bye a while).

I was very lucky to spend a day with just me and my partner on 2 separate walking tours with both Richard and Mike. The first walk with Richard was both stunning and peaceful, he took us right to the water line of the lake and around the national park on many paths nobody would have thought about going. We stopped at many great locations to take in a view and he talked sparingly about his experiences growing up around the national park and knowledge allowing us peace to enjoy the walk. He even got in touch with Mike for us.

Mike's walk was also beautiful showing us the best panoramic view of the entire national park from a distance. He shared many historical accounts and really put in efforts to make us feel welcome and also took us along paths and routes less travelled. Even ended it at Killarney house. I highly recommend these walks as they are the best way to see Killarney.

it was lovely to take you off the beaten path to show you some of my favourite places in Killarney National Park. It really is a labour of love for me as thats where i like to spend my spare time. This is where i grew up, and devoloped my passion for the outdoors around the shores of Loch Léin. You certainly had a good guide for part two of the walk as Mike was born and reared in the town centre, and is a mine of information. Thanks for walking with us, and for writing a great review. My friend and I did not expect the beauty of the National Park in Killarney. Richard was the best tour guide we could have asked for to make this experience. He knows this place from the inside out and is such a lovely person. From singing songs to being a quizmaster, he managed to create an unforgetable memory for us.
It was a pleasure meeting you!
Kind regards, M&M

I was glad to arrange a couple of rainbows as we walked around the shores of Loch Léin. I am sorry that we were unable to find the pot of gold but i will keep trying so you must return another time, and maybe we will be lucky. I enjoyed your company very much, both of you were so eager to learn about Killarney National Park, and Ireland in general. Vielan danke fur alles. It was also a good oportunity to use my few words of German. Slán go fóill (auf wiedershen).

This two hour trip was such a delight. Our guide was a Killarney native and so knowledgable. He guided us through a part of the park and even pointed our many native plants and animals. He shared stories of his own travels and even sang us a couple of songs! He was a great story teller and we learned a lot about the park.

Thanks very much for the great review after walking in Killarney National Park with James who loves to sing, and has a great interest in the flora, and fauna around Loch Léin. Like myself he has a passionate interest in the outdoors especially around Killarney his home town. I hope you enjoy the rest of the Summer, and get a chance to come back here again as there is lots more places to explore. Slán go fóill (bye a while).

Fantastic guided walk with Richard in the Killarney National Park today. The pace was perfect and we very much enjoyed the stunning viewpoints that he showed us, the beautiful red deer and getting off the beaten path right down to the edge of the lake. We saw bits of the park that we would never have found by ourselves. It was about 2.5 hours in total. Richard was very friendly and informative. We would highly recommend this tour and would happily do it again. Lovely lunch in the tearoom in the park afterwards too as recommended by Richard.

Our tour guide, James, was very informative, interesting, enthusiastic and funny. He clearly loves what he does and gave us a wonderful history of the area and the park, explained the wildlife and vegetation and added some Irish tunes, legend and blarney. And the park is beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed it!

It was my first time at Killarney National Park - I was amazed by the beauty of the landscape. Here nature is left on its own and allowed to flourish without the intervention of mankind. I have never seen before so much moss and so many ferns in one place and trees of all shapes and sizes twisted and bent by the wind. And all along the way, I heard the rush of small and hidden streams. It was almost like walking through a fairyland. I want to give my thanks to Killarney Guided Walks for this rewarding experience!

I think you make a very valid point when you say nature is left on its own. As so many beautiful places around the world are been destroyed unspoiled wilderness areas become more precious, and valuable. I call this area my back garden as i was born, and reared just across the road from Killarney National Park, and my dearest wish is that it remains unspoiled. I am very happy you enjoyed the walk so much, and thanks for the great review. Slán go fóill (bye a while).
