About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Moira S0 contributionsThe most amazing excursionThis was the best excursion of the entire Ireland vacation. Unbounded beauty, physical challenge or take an amazing horse drawn carriage ride through the gap. If you can’t walk the 7 miles you can get a horse carriage ride for an extra 50.00 euros. That should be mentioned as they only took cash. The day ended with a fun boat ride back to Killarney.Written 19 June 2024
- I9107JIkeving0 contributionsGreat Private Tour ExperienceMy group of 12 just concluded a week with your driver Mike Talbot. The entire group could not be more pleased. Mike was professional, conscientious, humorous, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful in every way. Please pass on my appreciation to Mike, he was very instrumental in assuring my group enjoyed their holiday in Ireland.Written 4 October 2023
- fclanOnTheStreet0 contributionsRing of Kerry Day TripVery enjoyable day trip, John was driving and providing the guide. Lots of information and a great laugh. We had a very rainy day and the visibility was poor but John still managed to find the best places to capture the fabulous views along the way, we soon forgot about the rain. Wild Kerry had free parking at the meeting point which was a bonus, we found them very professional to deal with start to finish, would highly recommend and love to go again some time!Written 26 September 2023
- Carol V0 contributionsPoor use of time and still returned lateBus driver droned on and on provided little information about sights. Cringey corny jokes. Mentioned he did not believe humans have a role in climate change. Criticized his employers for calling him bec he was running late and we did return more than a half hour late, missed our bus and had to wait more than 2 hrs for the next bus. Wasted time at tourist trap stops would have rather had a bit of time to see Blasket Center. We have taken many many tours, this was well below average even for the price.Written 14 September 2023
- susanwA9328PK0 contributionsMichael Talbot from Kerry Day Tours August 2023Michael Talbot from Kerry Day Tours was our tour guide from July 31 -Aug 12th. We traveled with a private group of 14 friends around the entire Island of Ireland starting in Dublin and ending in Dublin. Michael was professional, knowledgeable and very personable to our group. He knew all of our names within hours of starting out. We had many highlights of our trip the beautiful scenery, Cliffs of Mohr, The Ring of Kerry etc, tourist spots , but what makes a trip memorable is the people who share their knowledge, expertise and friendship. Michael Talbot was one of those people who made our trip a life time experience. He recommended great local restaurants, and spots to take photos and included important history. Thank you Michael for a trip of a lifetime from all of us from the suburbs of Illinois. We hope to see you soon in the U.S.Written 2 September 2023
- elizabethmI6366VI0 contributionsTravel around the coast of IrelandI recently traveled to Ireland with a group of 14 friends. We toured the entire island. Our driver Mike Talbot was fantastic. Not only is he an excellent driver, but he helped make our trip more enjoyable by suggesting places for lunch and dinners and made reservations. He narrated where we were and gave us a lot of insite in what we were seeing. We traveled for 2 weeks and by the end of our trip I felt like we all made a new friend.Written 22 August 2023
- lalaland7180 contributionsTrip of a Lifetime!I traveled to Ireland in July 2023 with my family that included my husband and two teenaged daughters and my parents, who are in their seventies. My mom turned 75 in July and had Ireland on the top of her bucket list! Mike Talbot with Wild Kerry Day Tours picked us up in Dublin and took us on the adventure of a lifetime along with Wild Atlantic Way from Killarny, the Ring of Kerry and the Dingle Peninsula to Galway, the Cliffs of Moher and Connemara and up to Derry and Donegal! We saw so much of the breathtaking countryside, and were amazed by the many varied landscapes and Mike was knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating along the way. He made sure that we got to see everything we wanted to see, and took such amazing care of my parents! It isn't easy juggling the itinerary with such a wide range of ages, but everyone had a wonderful time. By the end of our journey, we were all in love with Ireland and Mike was like one of the family!Written 13 August 2023

- Lucky41010 contributionsGreat Tour Guide Mike TalbotFive of us took a trip around Northern Ireland and Ireland to celebrate a 50th birthday and a college graduation. Three of us are siblings and two are spouses of siblings. Mike Talbot of Wild Kerry Day Tours was our tour guide/driver for four days of our trip. He was outstanding and made the trip even more special than it was already. He was a great guide and very friendly and personable. He was very knowledgeable about the well known attractions but also the less known ones. He also worked with the group to tweak the itinerary to make sure we were able to visit places that we wanted to visit as well as features he knew we would enjoy. It was a great trip, and he was a great friend and guide.Written 17 June 2023
- EwelinaKrak0 contributionsChaotic and too shortWhile the Gap of Dunloe is an absolute gem, this whole trip was very chaotic and I would not recommend it. The bus drops you off at the Gap around 11 am (why so late?) giving you only 3 hours to get to the boat on the other side of the gap - we almost had to run all the way, making no stops to admire the view, in order to be there on time. Since we're in our 30-thies we did succeed but none of our older fellow participants managed that and the boat left without them. The guide from the boat was nice though, told us plenty of interesting facts and the boat ride itself was great. However, no bus from Wild Kerry Tours awaited us at our final stop at Ross Castle even though they specifically told us in the morning we have to go straight to the bus park after we leave the boat. Therefore my recommendation to you is: get to the gap by taxi, walk it by your own pace, book a return trip with the boat company but not with Wild Kerry Tours, they totally failed to deliver.Written 3 June 2023
- judyv4590 contributionsAmazing tour with Michael TolbertMay 16 - 22, 2023 This was a once in a lifetime trip for me! Our group of 6 was picked up at Dublin Airport by Michael Tolbert and the adventure began! Michael was our driver for the entire trip from Dublin, Killarney, Dingle, Galway, Connemara and Clontarf Castle as our final destination. Michael made this trip so special by his knowledge of the country and the small towns and amazing sites to visit and explore. Michael's personality, knowledge and humor is a definite asset to your company. I truly feel that Michael made our trip memorable and I am so grateful we got to experience this beautiful country with him. Thank you for such a pleasant and exciting tour.Written 31 May 2023
- ritadR6587YN0 contributionsMichael Tolbert rocks as a tour bus driverOur bus driver was Michael Tolbert. Michael was a bonus that we were not expecting. He was considerate enough to find out what our group wanted from out tour; i.e, city touring, country sightseeing, shopping, etc. We all preferred country sightseeing and shopping. He was considerate enough to investigate the best local spots for beautiful scenery and shopping. His personality made our trip so enjoyable. We learned so much about Ireland and will request him as a bus driver for our return visit.Written 31 May 2023
- ecoker7180 contributionsBest part of vacation so farThis was a wonderful tour. We had an excellent driver who was very knowledgeable about the area and its history. We were able to stop and take photos many times. Since we were not familiar with the area we saw many views we wouldn't have seen had we been on our own. It was well worth the trip and I would highly recommend it.Written 20 May 2023

We had a great driver that told lots of interesting facts and history behind the places we saw. It is a good balance of riding and stopping to take pictures. Our favorite part was seeing the sheepdog rounding up the sheep. Thanks for the great day!Written 4 May 2023

While there was plenty of seating, and the weather was nice to see the sites, the overall experience was disappointing. The tour guide was very difficult to understand—and I don’t mean his accent. He didn’t speak into his microphone much of the time and he spoke much too quickly. He was also very unclear about the pricing at the first stop. There was an opportunity to see the famine town and we were told it was €7 per adult and kids were free (we had 2 adults and 2 children) and were charged €20. It was also understood that the Irish coffee was included in the cost of entrance but that was not the case. The ride is also not for the faint of heart. I know the roads are narrow here but the driver was very sharp with the breaks. The whole family felt like even the stops were not much to write home about. After doing the Dingle Peninsula, the other portion of Ireland was much more green and beautiful to tour. Would not recommend.

Started off the day with a stop at Kerry Bog Village. We had irish coffee at the Red Fox Inn which was delicious. We opted not to do the 5 euro tour but just enjoyed the Red Fox Inn. After that we stopped at Kells to watch a sheep herder. Again it was 5 euros to do that. I will say that was worth the stop as it was neat to see. I am not sure what other options you had but it was interesting to watch. Waterville was the next stop to take pictures of Charlie Chapman statue. The view of the water at this stop was pretty. After this was the stop for lunch at a hotel. I am not sure the name but it was not great at all. The service was horrible and the food was just ok. There were no other options. They were quick which was what they wanted since there were lots of folks on the bus. Had another quick stop to take pictures at Coomakista Pass and than another one at Glenbeg. Was pretty to start to see more of the bay and the rock formations. Next stop was at Molls Gap where there was an option for restroom break and a gift shop. The last stop we made was a Ladies View in Killarney National Park. This was such a pretty view point. While it was nice to not have to drive the tour was on a schedule so we wished we had more time to walk around the different towns you passed and such. The tour guide was ok. He was knowledgeable about what he was talking about but he wasn't one for small talk or to answer questions.

Excellent Trip ever! It is a not short one day trip for me, but the driver give us the best experience. I tasted the bailey's coffee which is 100% worth to try! And the sight through the bus is amazing, he will stop in the most beautiful place which you can definitely takes good pics. We will also stop in the restaurant, so no food need to be prepared in advance.
I left my camera on the bus during the trip, but the driver is so nice to help me find that. He prevent the further loss for me. I really appreciate what he did for me! I am willing to recommend this tour to everyone!

This was a fantastic tour from start to finish. We took the train from Dublin to Killarney, and the company arranged to have someone pick us up from the station and deliver us to the bus. Our tour guide was John, who was extremely informative and funny. The stops along the way gave us many opportunities to take in the gorgeous countryside and experience unique shows like the Sheepdog demonstration by Tom O'Sullivan (who has trained championship dogs), which was amazing. There are a few stops that cost extra (including the Sheepdog demonstration), but that is shared up front, and it is well worth the money (e.g., 8 Euro for that specific experience). We had a lunch stop, and the food was good. John made the trip quite enjoyable and was a very safe driver--it actually took me a while to realize he was driving the bus while also being the tour guide. I typically prefer to drive when I travel so I am not on a tight schedule, but this tour was well worth it, and it allowed me to sit back, relax, and learn more about Ireland in a fun and engaging way. The tour ended in plenty of time for us to catch the train back to Dublin.

A wonderful tour of a stunning area of Ireland! John was great - sharing information, making us laugh and even singing a song for us. And all at the same time as navigating narrow winding roads! The stops were great - especially the sheepdog demonstration. A great day out and a sunny day was an unexpected bonus!

Well our driver and guide (Jamus) was amazing and a man of great patience. There were only two in my party and another party of two on the tour. We were in a small van instead of the larger glass window bus like I remembered from 20 years ago when we first visited Ireland. This small group of four in a van provided a more intimate tour but a little too much so.
No fault of the touring company and definitely not our driver, but one of the others on the tour asked random questions and interrupted the driver throughout the tour for the entire day. It was so bad that we thought this tour would never end. Our only reprieve was when we stopped for lunch. Words cannot describe how bad this was especially with us sitting in the middle row and this individual yelling out questions and comments non-stop. Our driver clearly got frustrated at one point and threw up his hands.
In summary, future tourists should consider others around them and make conversation but also be quiet and listen to the stories of a local Irishman.

My sister and I came to Killarney with the first train from Dublin and O'Connor Tours were happy to pick up us at the train station for the tour that was starting at 10.30am. We really appreciated the gesture. Both the driver (sorry his name I forgot) and the guide John O'Neil were awesome. The guide is really witty and share lots of fun and beautiful stories of the Irish folklore and the region of Kerry. We had an amazing day, shout out to the people in the bus too, really good crew. Definitely would recommend for the eyes and the heart. Thank you

I am shared.
The tour is very beautiful, the driver very competent. The guide was very friendly unfortunately with a strong accent, I didn't understand much!
But the choice of stops bothered me and it is not indicated in the description.
It costs €7 more for the visit to an “old village” (Kerry bog village) and another €7 for the visit of a shepherd and his dog, demonstration with some sheep. If you don't, you have to wait.
Some photo stops
A stop for lunch at the Scariff Inn self-catering restaurant, the view is exceptional but not the meal.
A stop in the afternoon to (again) eat, drink and buy.
In short, I would have preferred to enjoy the outdoors more, a place to walk (Village, beach).
Despite everything, the value for money is good, and we had a great day!

The tour was really nice. The tour guide was really friendly and knowledgeable about all things in Killkenny and around the Ring of Kerry. The first stop out of Killkenny was to visit and old Irish village museum with Irish Wolfhounds (dogs). The scenery through the first art of the tour was nice, but the last half was great.

Having not expectations about the area, this trip was meant to give me and my friend a general understanding of the area. Were we pleasantly surprised! The driver was very knowledgeable of the area, having grown up here, but his personality was an added bonus. The stories he told as he carefully weaved up and down roadways I cannot imagine trying to drive myself were engaging and informative. The stops were perfectly timed, especially the lunch and many scenery stops, so we didn't get too comfortable on the trip nor be constantly getting on too soon to have a comfortable journey. Definitely would take this again for any friends that want me to venture this way with this way at a future date!

I'm curious if this Full-Day Tour will be a repeat experience. Let me explain.
I take a train from Dublin to Killarney for a night. I'm interested into taking the "Hop On, Hop Off" bus offered by Killarney Shuttle Bus.
The next day, we drive to Kenmare, to meet up with our fellow relatives (10+). The group is considering taking a "Ring of Kerry" bus tour.
My concern:
a) I'll drive from Killarney to reach Kenmare.
b) The group will drive from Kenmare to Killarney to take the Ring of Kerry Tour.
c) Then group will then drive the return trip from Killarney to Kenmare.
My question:
Should I skip the "Hop On, Hop Off" bus tour from Killarney? It seems to cover many of the same sites as the "Ring of Kerry" bus tour.
I worry my (3) car trips between Killarney and Kenmare, and (2) tour bus adventures will be redundant.
Thanks for your thoughts!
PS: We'll be in Kenmare for 4 days, and will attend the "Kenmare Fair" on Aug 15, 2018.
Regards,
Brian, Seattle, Wa, USA
