Take this tour.
We booked this tour while we were traveling through Ireland.
This is a full day trip so make sure you plan accordingly, you do not need to pack food, just bring some money.
The first place you stop is the Red Lion in, Take a tour of the grounds where they used to harvest peat moss, there are some horses and goats and some dogs in the tour. 6 euro a person for the tour. Then go into the in , have an Irish coffee or a pint.
Next thing you stop for is the Sheepdog Demonstration, pay for this (6 Euro per person) the demonstration by Brandon was absolutely amazing, the skill of a master Sheppard with two incredible and I mean incredibly trained dogs. You absolutely have to do this.
You stop at a few places between leaving in the morning and stopping for lunch for some pictures.
Then you stop for lunch at the Schairff Inn, please take a look at my review for that, I recommend the Lamb Stew. But everything looked good.
Another couple of places to stop for pictures.
Finally the last stop at a little cafe/gift shop where they make wool blankets they also have lots of Irish gifts and novelties.
Truly an excellent experience. Our guide kept telling us so many things as we drove, he practically never stopped talking. It was interesting and beautiful at the same time.
Would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to do the ring of Kerry tour.

Leaving a review, as we have now had several wonderful experiences with Wild Kerry Day Tours. When my teenage cousins have visited they go on their tour and now one of our friends as well and they all said they had a great time. The man who runs it always answers his phone right away at any hour and is so helpful and kind with any and all questions you have. He always offers to pick up the guests from the train station at no extra charge and even went out of his way to bring our friend to meet up with the rest of the tour when her train was delayed. They couldn’t be any more accommodating and genuine. It’s always such a relief to deal with such a nice and considerate company and feel like they are looking out for you, especially with young people involved. They are by far the nicest tour company in the area, are available even in the off seasons, very reasonably priced, and we’re looking forward to booking with them again in the future.

A wonderful tour of a stunning area of Ireland! John was great - sharing information, making us laugh and even singing a song for us. And all at the same time as navigating narrow winding roads! The stops were great - especially the sheepdog demonstration. A great day out and a sunny day was an unexpected bonus!

Excellent Trip ever! It is a not short one day trip for me, but the driver give us the best experience. I tasted the bailey's coffee which is 100% worth to try! And the sight through the bus is amazing, he will stop in the most beautiful place which you can definitely takes good pics. We will also stop in the restaurant, so no food need to be prepared in advance.
I left my camera on the bus during the trip, but the driver is so nice to help me find that. He prevent the further loss for me. I really appreciate what he did for me! I am willing to recommend this tour to everyone!

What a wonderful trip! John was knowledgeable and had great stories to share. The views and stops were fabulous. John was funny and personable. He even dealt with a difficult and out of control passenger who made others uncomfortable, with the utmost professionalism. Thank you, John. Sorry you had to endure that.

The tour was really nice. The tour guide was really friendly and knowledgeable about all things in Killkenny and around the Ring of Kerry. The first stop out of Killkenny was to visit and old Irish village museum with Irish Wolfhounds (dogs). The scenery through the first art of the tour was nice, but the last half was great.

I simply loved this tour. Traveling solo and taking this tour made it safer, easier and definitely more fun! I came from Cork by train to Killarney and the pick-up for the train station was on time and super helpful. The stops along the Ring of Kerry were nicely curated and plentiful. For lunch we stopped at a very nice spot that had great views of the ocean and a nice selection of beers. The end of the tour held a wonderful surprise with stop at Torc waterfall and a brisk walk in the Killarney National Park. Being on a tight schedule i was so thrilled to get to briefly experience the park.
John our driver and guide went trully above and beyond. He was attentive, entertaining and informative introducing us to the Irish culture. When I forgetfully left my wallet in the bus after the end of the tour, he went out of his way to help me. I really appreciated all the support and understanding. Can't thank John and the team enough.

John was a wonderful tour guide/driver. He had plenty of funny stories and local history to keep us very entertained throughout the entire trip. The starting location was a bit hard to find (house on a curve, easy to miss and we passed the sign a few times before finding it but it was well worth the money!

Difficult to rate this tour anything other than 5 star as it’s so beautiful. However, like most coach parties you are a captive audience and hence will be powerless to escape from activities that incur further costs and a patter from the guide straight from the sexist eighties. I can understand the temptations of a “lone ranger” but I for one felt uncomfortable by the “jokes” aimed at women and stupid tourists

It was a wonderful full day tour. Started around 10.30 to almost 4.30. It was a perfect ride for us with beautiful landscapes and wonderful driver, he had ample knowledge about the history, cattle, woods and many other such things. Definitely recommended for tourists.

Do the buses have bathrooms or are there bathrooms at the stops along the way?

No bathrooms on the bus, but you are not on the bus long between stops. There are bathrooms at non-scenic stops.

It's at Caherdaniel - Farraniaragh. Pretty sure the name of the restaurant is O'Carroll's Cove. It has very beautiful scenery and we get to take a lot of pictures.
Hi,
do you visit Ross Castle or Muckross House and Gardens on the tour?

We did! Ross Castle was beautiful! Muckross House was closed, so we didn't get to go in there!

I'm curious if this Full-Day Tour will be a repeat experience. Let me explain.
I take a train from Dublin to Killarney for a night. I'm interested into taking the "Hop On, Hop Off" bus offered by Killarney Shuttle Bus.
The next day, we drive to Kenmare, to meet up with our fellow relatives (10+). The group is considering taking a "Ring of Kerry" bus tour.
My concern:
a) I'll drive from Killarney to reach Kenmare.
b) The group will drive from Kenmare to Killarney to take the Ring of Kerry Tour.
c) Then group will then drive the return trip from Killarney to Kenmare.
My question:
Should I skip the "Hop On, Hop Off" bus tour from Killarney? It seems to cover many of the same sites as the "Ring of Kerry" bus tour.
I worry my (3) car trips between Killarney and Kenmare, and (2) tour bus adventures will be redundant.
Thanks for your thoughts!
PS: We'll be in Kenmare for 4 days, and will attend the "Kenmare Fair" on Aug 15, 2018.
Regards,
