- Yeefungxxx0 contributionsExcellent Private Tour with PeterWe took a private tour with Peter. He made it special by asking our interest and catering to them. He is very knowledgeable of the history of the area. We enjoyed the private tour very much, and definitely saw and learnt a lot more with him! And would highly recommend his tour!Written 5 July 2024
- rados_awb6940 contributionsBest day in IrelandThe best experience in my life. Absolutely fabulous tour guide with exceptional knowledge about Ireland. - 377nadineb0 contributionsPerfect tour of the Ring of Kerry with PeterIf you're going to see the Ring of Kerry, don't think twice - book a tour with Peter!! We had a perfect day, exceedingly our expectations. We got to see all the highlights and it was so nice to be able to sit back and just enjoy the views without having to navigate the roads ourselves. Plus, Peter knew all the best places to see, including several that the big tour buses can't get to. Peter is great at tailoring the day to your wishes and interests, and he was super patient, never making us feel rushed or like a bother. He is super knowledgeable about the area and Irish history and we greatly enjoyed our conversations. The day flew by and we hated to see it end. If we could award 10 stars we would - this was one of the highlights of our trip!Written 16 April 2024
- Destination8158830 contributionsGreat Ring of Beara GuidePeter met my wife and I at our Kenmare hotel and he was very accommodating to make sure we made sufficient stops for scenic viewing and pictures. Peter also repeatedly said that we could make any stop along the route. He is knowledgeable about the area and can cover history in as much depth as desired. He made sure to take the time to drive carefully since much of the road is very narrow. The sites of the coastline are fantastic with very little traffic compared to other Ring tours. If you’re looking for little crowds and fantastic camera opportunities, this is your tour!Written 26 September 2023
- JennyDGraham0 contributionsA Must Do!Peter was an excellent driver and guide. We were able to tailor our day to our liking and Peter was very flexible. He was knowledgeable and had great suggestions for different stops and look out points including a beautiful point to see the Skellig Rocks. A great day!Written 19 September 2023

- doc_barbara0 contributionsPrivate tour with Peter StanleyMy husband and I toured the Ring of Kerry with Peter Stanley. He is an amazing guide! He is very knowledgeable and kind. We were able to see so many wonderful sights and understand their significance. Peter picked us up at our hotel in Kenmare and we circled the ring in an opposite direction then the many tour buses that do this tour out of Kerry. We were also able to see parts of the ring where the big buses can’t go. Peter gave us several choices to stop for lunch and the one we chose was spot on. The food was delicious. I am certain the other options would have been great too. Don’t hesitate to book this tour with Peter Stanley. It has been the highlight of our trip.Written 6 July 2023
- 749evans0 contributionsWorth itGreat tour, so much better than driving yourself because you can look around more instead of focusing on the road, plus you have expert commentary.Written 15 June 2023
- Muleml270 contributionsRing of Kerry tourThe Ring of Kerry tour was amazing! Beautiful views! Peter was a fantastic guide and made the experience for us perfect! Peter provided details about each stop and lots of interesting information along the way. This is an experience we could have never done on our own without a guide. I would highly recommend this tour and Peter as your guide!!Written 24 April 2023

- RodgerP430 contributionsExplore the rugged beauty of the Beara Peninsula with a great tour guidePeter took two of us on a tour of the Beara Peninsula. The full day tour was excellent. He is passionate and knowledgeable not only about the Beara Peninsula but Ireland. He is sociable and explained all of the locations we visited. We lucked out because the day we took the tour, the weather was sunny. The peninsula’s rugged beauty is amazing. On the road trip, Peter drove along the coast, took back roads, and showed us small villages on the coast. He pointed out the Skellig Islands where some of the Stars Wars movies were filmed. Along the way, he gave us plenty of time on our own. For example, we had time to explore the Kenmare village shops and stone circle, the fishing town of Castletownbere, ruined abbeys and cemeteries, take photos of the mountains, valleys, ocean, and innumerable sheep. One of the tour’s highlights was our visit to the Uragh Stone Circle, one of Ireland’s most famous Neolithic stone circles. Peter suggested two restaurants, one in Kenmare (Maison Gourmet where the owner serves delicious and fresh French pastries) and one in Castletownbere (Lynch’s which serves burgers and other casual foods). We bought sheet music and a tin whistle at Soundz of Muzic store, which stocks instruments, Irish sheet, music, and more. He arrived on time at our hotel, namely, the International Hotel Killarney. After the tour, we felt well acquainted the Beara Peninsula and left with memories of a lifetime.Written 11 April 2023
- Destination4793810 contributionsFantastic day!Piotr J. (Peter) took us around the Ring of Kerry and was very accommodating. His knowledge of Ireland was outstanding ! He made sure to take us places that were unique and not touristy. We had the best day seeing Skellig Michael with perfect views and all the little towns on the ring. If I could give him more than 5 stars I would!!Written 28 March 2023
- Anastasia1113S0 contributionsPersonalized Experience with Knowledgable and Friendly GuideThis was an absolutely fantastic experience for me and my friends during our stay in Killarney. Our guide, Peter, was nothing but incredibly kind, flexible, and full of knowledge on the history of Ireland and the Dingle Peninsula. We stopped at numerous spots including Inch Beach, Slea Head, DingleCrystal, and, per our request, a sheep farm (we got to hold lambs!). Being able to drive the perimeter of the entire peninsula was beautiful. Peter gave us an excellent experience of all and truly made us appreciate the rich history behind it. I would highly highly recommend booking a tour with Peter as your guide—we loved this tour so much and we loved Peter! Without a doubt the highlight of our week in Ireland.Written 9 March 2023

Great experience - Peter was very communicative throughout the booking process and I have to say our guide Kris was BEYOND amazing. We went to places I would’ve never been able to drive to on my own in a rental. His knowledge of the roads, the local shops, places to stop for food, and most importantly this ability to capture moments for us and assist us in creating those moments was beyond any expectation we had. As a hobby drone pilot he put us in spots we will be talking about for the next 20+ years… HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Best day of our trip!

An older fellow and his adult daughter booked this private tour with Peter Stanley for 9 June 2024.
Let us begin with value. The price for an 8-9 hour day is, in our opinion, very reasonable.
The Ring of Kerry scenery is fantastic all over, but we must highlight the Cliffs of Kerry and distant view of the Skellig islands. Luke Skywalker's Jedi Temple was filmed on Skellig Michael. It turns out that those stone huts were based on the real things built by 11th century monks. You can see replicas at the entrance to the cliffs. They are called beehive huts or clochan.
Peter will customize the trip based upon the number of other tours on the road and our interests.
Since we went on a Sunday, he was able to take us up to Valentia Slate Quarry. This is really neat in itself, but also offers tremendous views of Valentia Harbour and Dingle Bay. I needed a bathroom stop, and he diverted to the little town of Cahersiveen. Here we visited the Daniel O'Connell memorial Church and the grave of WWII hero Father Hugh O'Flaherty (see "The Scarlet and the Black" book and movie). This was a moving experience.
We found Peter to be knowledgable, friendly and most accommodating.

Our Ring of Kerry Tour with Piotr was amazing! Leave the driving to the pro and get an Ireland education as well! We hit all of the top spots along the ring of Kerry and avoided all the big tour busses, it felt like we were alone on the edge of the world! Perfect for our family with two younger children, 7 and 10. They absolutely loved it and so did my wife and I. Highly recommend for families or anyone looking to avoid a bunch of people on a big tour bus and want a personalized experience without having to do the driving!

Peader was an excellent driver and host. The whole trip was terrific. Would highly recommend. We had perfect weather as well which may not be normal but it was high 60s and so sunny I got a little burnt on my nose. Peader made the trip very enjoyable with his knowledge of history and ability to keep everyone moving. The trip out to Innis Mornwas great and definitely get a tour on the horse drawn cart (all arranged in advance with the driver). The Cliffs were stunning by boat and then going to them in person was great. Wear comfortable shoes. It is a pretty good hike up from the visitors center. The day ended with a picture stop at Corkscrew Hill which was a nice break. Whole day took about 10 hours. Medium physical exertion. Nothing too strenuous.

This tour was the highlight of our trip to Ireland. Having a private driver was easily worth the cost. Bus tours can’t reach some of the locations due to road size. Kris, our driver, was excellent and had our best interests in mind. He allowed whatever time was needed to the provide an excellent experience. This is a highly recommended tour!

Our guide Tony, was the nicest / most knowledgeable person and more importantly friend and very funny! It was the highlight of our trip to Ireland. The Ring of Kerry is out of this world and breathtaking. This tour was absolutely perfect for us. We covered so many areas over the day and went to places that the buses couldn't get to. Tony didn't rush us at all and we spent time in many places. Our favorite stops were:
Port Magee at the Kerry Cliffs - absolutely breathtaking
A visit to a Bog Village to learn more about the great Irish famine.
Ross Point - beautiful beach!
Valencia Harbour and visiting the forts and Torc Waterfall.
To be honest the whole tour was just amazing and made even better by a wonderful tour guide who picked us up from our accommodation.
We couldn't have had a better tour!
Thank you Tony and Peter for making our trip to Ireland so special.

Our tour with Peter was absolutely amazing! Didn’t hurt that the weather was perfect (first day we’ve had that), but Peter was just a great guide and had answers for everything we threw at him. He took us to a bunch of places the kids really enjoyed (ages 7 and 9). The Ring of Kerry itself is just awesome, but there’s just so much to see during the drive so having Peter take us around was perfect. Would recommend this to anybody.

This tour is advertised for 91.32 per adult until you click to schedule and it jumps to 250.00 per? Which is correct?
Written 17 July 2023
Because it's private there's a minimum. So the more people you have in your party, the lower the per PERSON price will be.

I do not remember the make, but it is a stereotypical minivan with at least two rows of seats in the back -- might be three rows...with only two of us touring I didn't notice. My wife rode in the front seat to better enjoy the view.
The van is clean and comfortable and well stocked with water.

Hi; four of us are travelling in Sept. is it possible to start a Ring of Kerry tour in Killarney and finish in Dingle?
Written 8 August 2019
Our tour began and ended in the same place, but because this is a private tour company I recommend you contact them and ask if they would drive you to Dingle at the end of the tour. Keep in mind that it’s over an hour drive away from Killarney, so expect to pay an extra fee. Have a beautiful trip!

I saw one thing that said duration is four hours but one of the reviews said that they were on the tour for 9 hours. How does it work for a longer tour?
Written 24 January 2019
What do you mean “how does it work”?
The tour we booked was an all-day tour. Our driver had a route with planned stops but we were free to request he stop (bathrooms, photo ops etc) at any point. A few places we went were on the bus tour route but the majority were off the beaten path. Midday our stop was for lunch at an inn on the coast.

Love to book a private tour for 5 departing from Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel on Aug 16 or 17. Confused with geography. No car. Using trains. Where is Killarney Town and does the train go there from Fitz Castle area?
If not, other places we will be are Bray and Howth.
Are these places any closer to carve out a day with you?
We fly away on Aug 20.
Like to book !
