Our tour guide Lorraine was fantastic. She was very amiable, had a great sense of humour, knew her history well, and overall cultivated a sense of familiarity. I highly recommend to anyone new to Galway and interested in learning about some of the history of the city and buildings!Written 7 March 2025

- harsimranjeetm20250 contributionsExcellent, recommendedWe toured with Conor around galway. He was incredibly informative and answered all of our questions. The tour was well paced with pletntly of opportunities to rest. We learned a lot not just about galway but about irish history and cultural origins. Would recommend.Written 22 February 2025
- kateh13910 contributionsA delicious tour of GalwayConor was an absolute dream! He was fun, knowledgeable, knew when to stay and when to give the group time to bond and chat. The food was all delicious and local drinks were provided at each venue alongside expert information about the area. I would highly recommend this tourWritten 18 February 2025
- T5704JXmaryd0 contributionsGreat tour, local knowledge, locally sourced food and drinkGreat tour. Lovely to see local knowledge and conor made sure we got locally sourced food and drink. It was really good and we enjoyed it. Taught us a lot about the connection with Boston that galway has. Our tour was very small, only 4 of us total but it was fantastic.Written 10 February 2025
- Lodge3080 contributionsTasty GalwayConor did a great job telling stories and showing us the tastier side of Galway! Truly a local who shared his memories which really personalised the experience. So happy we did this one!Written 4 February 2025
- JL N0 contributionsGreat food and history tourConor was terrific and so informative. We went with 4 friends and we loved all of the history of Galway that Conor told us as we moved from course to course on the food tour. My favorite stop was Skeff’s with a traditional Irish meal. Thanks Conor. We will recommend to others!Written 16 January 2025
- S5157EZkevinw0 contributionsWonderful tour and great experienceMy husband and I went on the Galway walking tour with Conor. We really enjoyed learning about the city and had a wonderful time. Conor was knowledge, friendly, and delivered an engaging tour.Written 13 January 2025
- Adventure255480663540 contributionsA great intro to GalwayLerraine was our tour guide and she was wonderful. She was engaging, talked to everyone in the group and had a real spirit about her. We learned some fun history about Galway and visited some pubs we would not have stopped in otherwise. We are so happy we took this tour. It gave us a real feeling for the center city and as a native of Galway she had really good insights to the history and culture of the town. Highly recommend the tour and Lerraine.Written 29 December 2024
- kamileMi930 contributionsGreat way to get to know Galway pub culture in a short time.We had a great time on the tour, tasting was more than enough, we got our bellies full with everything we were offered. But of course it is very individual thing, maybe it would not be enough to people who are very very hungry or have big appetite. Nicole "Tōg gobogē" :D was very friendly and had good stories to share. Learnt some nice words in gaelic! The only thing that could be improved is the duration, everything seemed a little bit rushed and the tour started and ended at exactly the time it was supposed to, not a minute longer.Written 12 December 2024
- Kevin M0 contributionsGreat Way to Experience and Learn about GalwayConor was our intrepid and knowledgeable guide for our visit through Galway. Though the weather was cold and rainy, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the little known tales of Galway's darker history (and indeed, this tour is really about Galway in general). I would highly recommend this tour - especially with Conor.Written 6 December 2024
- kspud0 contributionsDiscover Galway through food… and maybe Conor…Galway is an amazing city but, if it’s your first time, do this tour in your first 24-48 hours of arriving to town. Conor was an amazing tour guide, mixing local food, local drinks, and local lore into one romp around town. Fair warning: there’s alcohol on this tour, so if that’s not your thing, you might feel like you’re missing out. If it is your thing, and you’re able to time it right, pair the food tour with the Dark Side of Galway Walking Tour. The stories are fun to listen to when you’re just a little tipsy, and you may even get Conor again in the same evening!Written 2 December 2024
- Joanne W0 contributionsHighly recommendWhat a wonderful tour. Conor was fantastic. Very entertaining and full of information. A great way to explore Galway. Lots of murder mayhem and some ghosts. All told with humorWritten 1 December 2024

The walking tour was fantastic. Conor our tour guide was very friendly and so knowledgeable and informative. He encouraged us to ask questions and seemed to know all the answers. You can see the love he has for his city as he takes you through its history and the makeup of its people. I recommend you take this tour at the start of your trip because they make so many recommendations for places to visit, you’ll want to get to them all. Conor also made lots of recommendations for music venues and places to eat. I highly recommend this tour.

Barry did an absolutely fabulous job of showing us the sites and answering all questions as well as engaging banter. Also, handsome hahaha. But I cannot figure out why the locals are so cold blooded. It was 16 degrees today, I believe, that's 62 fahrenheit and everybody is bundled up like it's snowing. I was comfortable in a T-shirt.

On my first full day in Galway, I went on the Welcome to Galway Walking Tour. Conor was our guide and was very knowledgeable and entertaining during the tour. I learned so much about the rich history of Galway and the surrounding area, with its writers, invaders, traders, and everyday people. Also, we learned a lot about the city today and how the population burgeons with the students returning to the University of Galway. I learned about Padraic O'Conaire, whose statue is in Eyre Square, an Irish language writer I was unfamiliar with. Since then, I've purchased a book and read his short stories, which I highly recommend.
The tour begins in Eyre Square, goes to the pedestrian-only parts of Galway, through the Latin Quarter and ending at the Spanish Arch on the Long Walk. It lasts approximately 1.5 hours. Highly recommended!

I recently took a walking tour with Nicole as our guide, and it was fantastic! Nicole was not only incredibly knowledgeable about all the sights but also made the tour genuinely fun with her engaging stories and warm personality. She shared interesting historical facts, hidden gems, and local insights that made us feel connected to the area in a whole new way. Her energy kept us all excited to learn more, and she was great at answering questions and involving everyone in the group.
If you’re looking for an enjoyable, informative, and memorable experience, I highly recommend this tour with Nicole. She’s truly a gem!

LORRAINE was our Tour Guide... Hope that she is yours! Lorraine was engaging, interesting, thorough, loud (you're in the middle of a City - you need someone who can talk over the crowds!), fun and funny.
Great introduction to Galway - we had fun the remainder of our time there recalling the facts that Lorraine shared.
Really great experience and highly recommend!

Left with a great sense of serendipity from this tour! Barry is an exceptional and very passionate tour guide who made it such a beautiful experience! He has an extremely charming manner and takes the time to add in any personal touches to the tour that he can! Particularly enjoyed all of his humour and explanations about certain signs that we passed, and the time to pick out our names on the map in town! Along side the tour Barry was happy to answer my questions and provide recommendations which massively helped me to feel safe and at home during my solo trip in Galway. I discovered so many things that I would have missed without Barry’s input - who knew there was a pirate ship in Galway! I’ll definitely take another tour when I swing by Galway again in the future! Thank you so much Barry (aka the tour guide with the best hair :P)

We really felt like we learned a lot from Sean, our articulate guide on this walking tour. He was fun and full of interesting details and anecdotes not only about the city of Galway but also the wider Irish culture of the area and historical context. It was an exceptional experience with a lot of onward recommendations. Very good value and I felt I really got to know Galway well.

Lorraine our tour guide not only gave us really good historical stories but sprinkled with top tips for visitors to Gallway, where to get the best pint of Guinness ( rated 1-5) she had excellent ideas of where to eat and where to shop for the best Galway gifts, which is invaluable in a place where there are so many shops selling similar items.
She is really funny and gives a great tour. Thanks Lorraine Gon-èirileat ! ☘️🌅
