    Highly recommend this lovely tour!
I booked the tour with a friend over from the States as I’d never really done a walking tour of Galway city. Neil the tour guide was excellent: weaving in history of Galway City and The Claddagh as well as the people and of course the famous jewellry. The highlight was definitely the walk around The Claddagh (a part of Galway we hadn’t seen before) and learning about the history. We got to choose our own rings from the shop and enjoyed speaking with the staff there as well. Thanks Neil, for a wonderful day! We learned things we never knew and had a great time!

A great way to spend an couple of hours in Galway City
Neill was a great guide with lots of interesting stories about the places he showed us. He took us to places and showed us things we would not otherwise have known about. We were also lucky to have a lovely sunny afternoon which made the walk very enjoyable.

    Knowledgable, friendly and in depth
Our walking visit of Galway City was all we expected and more. From historical tidbits to breathtaking vistas to tea and scones in a restored thatched roof cottage next door to the home of the King of Claddagh, this memorable tour expertly conducted by Neil and Orla was an ideal introduction to a fascinating city.

    Late afternoon tour available
We arrived in Galway in the afternoon and was thrilled to find a 5pm walking tour available. While we had explored the area for a few hours on our own, Neil pointed out locations we had missed. Well worth the time and money. We had the special treat of running into his wife and daughter, a 10 year with a ukulele! She sang for us....a real treat!

    Neil was Great
We explored the old city of Galway on a 90 minute walking tour with a very personable guide. Neil knew the history and the legends. Time well spent and would highly recommend. This left time for the Saturday market and visiting the local pubs.

A Very Crowded Town, A Fun Tour
Even though we were in Galway City in May and expected very few crowds, the place was full of visitors. I cannot even imagine what it will be like during the summer season. Our guide walked us about the town, telling us the old tales and stories of the area and showing us a few historical sites.

    Knowledge
Here for a intercultural communications course. Neil gave us an excellent interactive tour. Most tour guides bore the sh!t out of me bit this was the opposite. I was extremely interested in everything he had to offer.

    Perfect in every way
My wife and I did the walking tour with Neil and couldn’t fault it in any way. He was very informative as well as entertaining. He obviously knows Galway and its history very well and is able to convey it in a way that is interesting and easy to follow. If you have a spare 80 minutes or so this tour is a must.

An encyclopedic and interesting tour guide. A great summary of Galway past and present. We heard of the historical origins of Galway, and present day facts, including street artwork on building walls that is quite famous.

This was a fantastic walking tour of Galway and our host was fantastic. He really did a great job explaining the history of the city, the life and times of locals and told a lot of wonderful stories including one aboutthe heroic monkey! If you have time and want a nice easy walk around the city and learn some history, this tour is for you.

Neil was friendly, knowledgeable, and did a good job helping us appreciate Galway more deeply. We learned about some local legends told in storybook fashion, and got to cover a good bit of ground walking through various neighborhoods of the city. Neil also had excellent food recommendations that have benefited the rest of our stay. There were just two of us on the tour, so at times we were walking in silence. I imagine that this tour with a larger group would be more engaging and fun.

Really fun fantastic tour of Galway showing us and telling us things about Galway that we would never have found ourselves. Neil was excellent company. He provided us with lots of information about the city and its history and we had great fun interacting with him on the tour. Our 2 friends from the UK were with us and really enjoyed it also.
We highly recommend Neil and his tour!!

Knowledgeable and charismatic guide who is great at retelling old legends (trust me, I've seen it done badly and it's such a joy to be immersed in the dramaticism of 15-16th century). Group was small and weather was perfect, so got lucky in all respects.

Great overview of Galway, got a nice blend of recent additions to the city, historical buildings/archeological sites, Galway legends and local recommendations for food/shops.

Neil was a great tour guide! He makes sure to keep the group small, which makes it more intimate and friendly. He has a wealth of knowledge about Galway’s history and we had a fantastic time. I would recommend this to anyone visiting.
