About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 623cheryly0 contributionsAran Islands and Cliffs of MohlerIt was very full stimulating day of Irish history and stunning sights to behold. I would definitely rent bikes on Aran Island. Phil our tour guide had no shortage of information to share with us.Written 19 September 2024
- Navigator5167350 contributionsExcellent!!This tour was one of our favorites in Ireland! The scenery was breathtaking! We gave this tour 5 stars because of what it included and because of our tour guide, ALAN! Alan was a wealth of information, he had a great sense of humor and he went above and beyond to ensure all of us were comfortable and that we were able to take the Aran Island side trip of our choice. Thank you Alan! Jennifer Frye, USAWritten 17 September 2024
- mbshepherd0 contributionsGreat day trip!Great trip! We loved the Aran Island trip and enjoyed seeing the cliffs from the boat as well as from above. Our guide Alan was great! We had a huge unexpected traffic jam during the trip and Alan rearranged our activities so we could still do everything on the agenda.Written 17 September 2024
- Dreamer8247090 contributionsGreat way to see the CliffsSeeing the Cliffs from both the water and top was worthwhile. Ferry can get crowded so when leaving island would suggest getting in line for boat early to get decent seat. Right side of the boat seemed to have better views. We did the jaunting cart on the island and enjoyed it. Still had plenty of time for lunch on the island.Written 15 September 2024
- Andrea G0 contributionsTrip to The wild Atlantic way!!!Gerry was a great tour guide and he even sang to us. This trip was amazing on so many levels. Ireland is beyond gorgeous. Gerry was find, very well informed on historical events, he was extremely organized, attentive, and funny, funny very funny.Written 11 September 2024
- debjitn0 contributionsBetter time management neededThere was way too much time (almost 2.5 hours) reserved for the Aran Islands, whereas only 1 hour was parked for the main attraction - Cliffs of Moher. The cruise was nice, but it would have been great if we could spend more time in the Cliffs of Moher.Written 10 September 2024
- 31zacw0 contributionsGorgeous and Fun!Gerry was a wonderful driver/guide. Very kind, knowledgeable and entertaining! The weather didn't want to cooperate in the morning but it didn't phase him. "It's a fine Irish day!" he said. Great jokes and stories. The cliffs were breathtaking. Inisheer island was almost a bubble in time and it's the community that grew up there and lives there that show you around (best fish and chips we had in all of Ireland was at their pub).Written 6 September 2024
- PSU_happyvalley0 contributionsBest Tour! Gerry is FANTASTIC!!!Gerry was an amazing driver and tour guide. He was knowledgeable and funny. He was able to explain so many things to us as we drove to and from the Cliffs of Moher. The drive was very scenic. I loved biking on the island of Inisheer. Seeing the Cliffs of Moher from both the boat and land was absolutely amazing. This tour offered it all to us!!! Highly recommended!Written 3 September 2024
- heatherkE1494ON0 contributionsCliffs of Moher from two vantage points and InisheerWe had a fabulous time on this tour. Everything was very well organized and run. Jerry our bus driver was friendly, funny, entertaining, and knowledgeable about the area and he is an excellent driver! We went from Galway to Doolin, caught the ferry to Inisheer, stayed for a couple hours (long enough to take a horse drawn carriage tour of the island, have lunch, and grab a pint). The ferry going back took us for a view of the Cliffs of Moher from the ocean, which was spectacular. We then collected back at the tour bus to see the Cliffs of Moher from land above. On our way back, we enjoyed many scenic views from the Wild Atlantic Way. There was a lot packed in, but we enjoyed every bit of it! 10/10 would recommend.Written 31 August 2024
- Mobile635679407470 contributions10/1010/10. Thank u! Everything is organized at the highest level. A cheerful, joking guide-driver, responsible boat personnel, a well-thought-out program in terms of time and impressions. Not expensive. Unforgettable. But if you get seasick on boats, try to choose days with good weather and sit in the center of the boat. A 9-year-old child was delighted and was not afraid of the waves.Written 30 August 2024
- mummyesq0 contributionsExcellent tourThis was an excellent tour. A group of us took it together, including my mother who is in her 70’s with limited mobility. Our guide, Gerry, was very knowledgeable and entertaining. He also took great care of us and gave us great advice about where to rent bikes or arrange shuttle buses on the island, how to avoid the bathroom queues, the best places to get lunch, etc. The boat trip was quite adventurous but gave us amazing views of the cliffs from a different vantage point. We all agreed that everything about the tour was excellent, and it was really very good value for the money. I’d say this tour was the highlight of our trip to Ireland.Written 28 August 2024
- Dtes990 contributionsFun trip on the North AtlanticAmazing views of the North Atlantic coupled with friendly tour guides and Island locals. Allan was very good at providing us with the local information as we made our way to the ferry. He helped us all get organized for the Island tour and it had a very positive and pleasant effect. He managed the time in a very good way while making sure we had a great tour of each place. I will definitely book with Wild Atlantic Way again.Written 27 August 2024
- bellevue10 contributionsExcellent tour to see ConnemaraTour to Connemara meet in fromt of Kinlay Hostel. We had a choice for our main stop (3 hours), either Connemara National Park or Kylemore Abbey. We chose Kylemore because the weather was rainy. The tour made several small stops about 5 min each and 20 min in Clifden We enjoyed the tour despite of the not so great weatherWritten 25 August 2024
- marisah9220 contributionsBeautiful landscapes and architecture; amazing driver andBooked the tour to Connemara from Galway with either a stop to climb Diamond Hill or spend some time at Kylemore Abbey. I opted for Kylemore Abbey, which was beautiful. Mike, the driver, was great: cracked a few jokes and gave interesting information about the different places we were driving by and drove the (narrow!) sky road perfectly in a bus! Would recommend this tour.Written 25 August 2024

***EDIT: I posted a review about my friend and I's poor experience with a specific employee of this company before we embarked on the tour. I thought it would only be fair to post an updated review after we had gone on the tour.
Our guide, Gerry was fantastic and really knew how to share his love of his homeland. I want it to be clear that Gerry gets 5 stars in my book, other than the beautiful Connemara scenery, he is the reason this was an enjoyable day. His jovial demeanour and extensive knowledge more than made up for the unpleasant experience with the manager, Damien, who seems really unhappy working in a business that usually requires human interaction.
We made a mistake during our booking and were looking for some flexibility in the cancellation policy to correct it. I guess Damien never makes mistakes as he didn't seem to understand our position. Must be nice.
Instead of being helpful or even cordial in his refusal to help, he chose to throw a tantrum on the morning of the tour and to be condescending, sarcastic and disrespectful. As I was born in the late 20th century, I have extensive online shopping and traveling experience, contrary to what the manager implied, and never have I encountered such a sour disposition from someone who runs a tourism company.
Thank goodness he's got wonderful guides like Gerry who make up for it!
***ORIGINAL REVIEW: My friend and I were recommended this tour by our hostel and we decided to book two tickets for the next day. My friend made a mistake and added an extra ticket than we needed to the cart and didn’t notice until the order was completed.
She realized it almost instantly and called the company literally 1 min after the order was completed to get that extra ticket cancelled and refunded. She apologized when calling and calmly explained her mistake.
The company was completely intransigent and refused to refund that ticket. We completely understand that they have a 24h cancellation policy but these policies shouldn’t be so inflexible. We also don’t want them to have an empty seat on their tour but they refused to be accommodating. They even blamed my friend for buying up an empty seat that someone else could have benefitted from but then refused to let us cancel. It was nonsensical and a poor customer experience. Now, before even going on the tour, we’re left with a poor impression of this company. What a shame.

This tour was all about the sights. Riding through the Connemara valley our guide, Mike, pointed out a bunch of sights and gave a lot of information about those spots. Along the way we were able to stop at different sites as well for a quick picture. Riding on Sky Road was also beautiful. It was a very narrow road and several times we had to pull over to the side while other oncoming cars were going past. Bring cash along to pay for your ticket to the Abbey. I felt that we had enough time to walk around the Abbey, but if you would want to do some of the hiking trails you won't have time to see everything.

The scenery was spectacular and our guide Damien was so informative and stopped in many locations and even went the extra mile and took us to other places of interest that he thought were important to see. This tour covered so many locations and is so worth doing. There were many highlights but for us it was Kylemore Abbey and the Victorian Gardens...stunning.

We did not regret this excursion whatsoever and it was a great addition to our Galway visit. We definitely needed a little longer than 3 hours, but it is doable. What didn't help was the long lines for food. Great food though so it was worth it. I definitely suggest this for anyone staying in Galway, the city isn't that big and takes only a day or so to explore so this would be the perfect addition for a multi-day trip!

Tony, our driver, was very knowledgeable about our destinations and what to expect. We had a beautiful sunny day too! The roads are a little bumpy and might have felt less so if we had gone slower, with a few less stops. But in order to make all those stops within the given schedule, we needed that speed. Thanks for the tour!

1) Are face masks required for passengers while on the bus?
