Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Gary was our guide and made us feel like a long lost friend. He knows everything about Galway and tells great stories with such compassion that you can tell he genuinely cares about and knows his history. We even saw him two days later when we were on another tour and he remembered our names. I highly recommend Gary if you want to feel like you are walking alongside a friend.

Hi Ray You couldn't really ask for a better review. My home town means so much to me that I try to get that across with my walks. Being friendly is easy when you get to meet such nice and genuine people as yourselves and so many other visitors I have been fortunate to meet over the last few years. Go raibh mile maith agaibh mo chairde!

My wife and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary in Ireland, and one of the highlights of our visit was this walking tour of Galway City hosted by Gary. Gary is fun, knowledgable, and considerate of his guests. We would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to know more about the amazing history of this region of Ireland.

No better way to learn about all of Galway's history than with a true local, Gary Casey. He is incredibly knowledgeable with strong family roots in this region. He sprinkles humor, as the Irish do, into the serious and troublesome points of history embedded in this city. We truly enjoyed hearing him talk about the Galway's architectural points of interest, geography, it's people, and everything from is long ago to it's most recent past! Join him rain or shine, he's fantastic!

Gary was the perfect blend of history and humour! The walk itself was well paced and would be suitable for most visitors. He was punctual, easy to arrange times with, and was happy to answer questions displaying a clear love for his city. He recommended a place to eat, which was indeed delicious. Go raibh maith agat a Ghearoid!

This is the kind of review I love Vicky. Thank you for your brilliant review. I like a bit of balance with my tours: not too 'heavy,'but still get a point across. Go raibh mile maith agat féin.

We took this tour on our first day in Galway, and it was a great introduction to the city with lots of fun history and stories! Gary, our tour guide, is a great storyteller and is obviously passionate about the city. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Galway!

Beautiful little city, described as the city of Tribes, poetically sung by W.B.Yates as 'Venice of the West' the walk was wonderful and good. The guide took us through the streets of James Joyce and his beautiful wife, small iconic restaurants, ornamental buildings and vibrant culture. This is part of our day from Dublin.

Larry was very informative as well as humorous. I was expecting a little more walking but it was a little over an hour so my expectation for more walking was probably unrealistic.
Larry was knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor. I would definitely recommend this guide.

Brilliant walking tour and overview of the highlights of Galway. We particularly enjoyed learning about the legend of the claddagh ring and how Ed Sheran started his career busking in Galway. Plus having the blue house from the Galway Girl video pointed out. Everything was also tailored to our interests so we were shown the best places for my children to eat and where the best claddagh ring shop was for my eldest to get her own ring. Very enjoyable, friendly and professional. We nearly didn’t book, as couldn’t see what time the tour was, but once you book you’re contacted to see what time is best for you. There are tours throughout the day so don’t let that put you off!

This is a brilliant way to explore parts of Galway and Gary our tour guide was amazing with his story telling of the history of Galway mixed together with a little Irish “Blarney”.
Our group was made up of 2 English, 2 Israeli, 1 American and 1 Irish…that’s Gary!
So together we shared parts of our own history that interlinked with Irish history…very interesting!!
Definitely recommend this tour

Our guide was AWESOME! He was very knowledgeable about the city and really made our tour come to life! He was kind, funny and really gave us a great overview of this beautiful city and it's rich history!

In addition, he was kind enough to refund portion of our tour since a few people from our group didn't show up that morning. It wasn't his fault that they decided not to join us and he didn't have to do that! We didn't even ask him to -- he just did it out of the kindness of his heart.
Can't say enough about this tour and this guide!
