      Great family experience
Traveled with our entire family (party of 9) on the trip through Connemara. We had a fantastic time, led by Cathal and his trusty parrot :) (stuffed animal to indicate which coach was his in parking lots, not a real parrot) Cathal was highly entertaining and knowledgeable. We all recommend this trip to anyone looking to explore the Connemara area!

      Galway to Kylemore Abby
We visited the beautiful Abbey and it's gothic church, mausoleum, and gardens. We also toured all over Connemara. Today we learned everything about the history, culture and importance of protecting the landscape of this wonderful land. Our guide was wonderful, knowledgeable, helpful and witty. Our driver was skilled and I felt completely safe. The tour was well balanced with cultural heritage and entertaining. Thank you Barry and Martin for a wonderful day

Perfect day trip around the Burren!
This tour is a great way to see unusual parts of the Burren, as opposed to just going to Cliffs of Moher alone. Our tour guide, Gerry, was warm and knowledgeable, and we had a nice amount of time at each location. I can’t believe how much we fit in before returning to Galway at around 5pm! There is an extra charge for the Aillwee Cave, but it’s discounted and absolutely worth it! And I loved getting to walk out on the Burren. This is a great next-level day trips beyond simply walking the Cliffs!

      Great teacher, fabulous views
What a perfect last day in Ireland. It was breathtaking to experience the view and the atmosphere. Gerry was a fantastic guide, and a great teacher, and funny but very informative. I would recommend this earlier in your trip as it covers a vast amount of information to give you perspective you’ll need for Ireland.

Best Tour in all of Ireland!
This tour was amazing! Our guide, Nicole and driver, Martin were incredible. Nicole had so much knowledge and was so delightful. I learned more from her than reading any literature! Kylemore Abbey is a spectacular place to visit. It offered so much beauty and history. The Chonamara was just lovely. I had a delightful time at all the stops. We had plenty of time at each site. This is a must do for touring the Wild Atlantic Way!

      Gerry was the best guide!
We took a tour with Gerry and highly recommend it! Gerry was super knowledgeable about history, science, linguistics, and geo-politics. The information was really interesting and told in a great and accessible way. We did this tour our first day in Galway and it was great because we learned so much about the area and things to look out for. For the rest of our trip I was keeping an eye out for thatched roof cottages, famine huts, stone walls, and other structures that Gerry had pointed out and explained to us. He went above and beyond as a tour guide and I would recommend him specifically and this tour in general!

      Unforgettable experience
John B was an excellent host. He was very kind, and taught us so much about Ireland; history, geography, places to visit etc. The tour had a plethora of fun activities with careful attention to making timely stops for food, toilets, and coffee. If you find yourself in Galway, you absolutely need to take this tour.

Fabulous tour with an incredible driver… Gerry, you’re an absolute legend!!
Firstly, let me just say the price of this trip is absolutely incredible for what you get packed in! So many beautiful sights, perfect stops and amazing photo ops! I usually drive everywhere I go but my American bestie swears by tours, so my goodness am I glad I agreed with her on this trip! Right from the start, Gerry, our incredible driver AND touring expert rolled-into-one made us feel so welcome with his perfect Irish humour.. (Anyone for a Galway hooker?!) I’m technically only from up the road but I could listen to that Galway brogue all day long! What this man doesn’t know about every road, bar, whiskey, restaurant and bit of history from the town centre to the cliffs of Moher and back, isn’t worth knowing! It was an absolute pleasure spending the day on this tour. I loved everything about it and you will not be disappointed.. Gerry even done his research the night before and knew what time we would need to be at the cliffs before we were welcomed by the famous Irish summer (rain). He puts a lot of time and effort into this tour and his passion for the history shines through. It was a joy to listen to you Gerry, it was a joy to be educated by you and I will definitely be back.. once you find me a husband! 😂 Thank you for everything, you’re a credit to Lally Tours!!! Excellent tour and guide
The tour guide, Barry, was excellent and the driver was conscientious and careful. Barry provided informative and interesting information the whole tour! We had enough time to walk around at the stops and each stop was unique. The bus was clean, the WiFi worked, and there was a bathroom on the bus. If you are vegetarian or vegan, we suggest packing your own lunch. The restaurant we stopped at only had one vegan burger. Highly recommend this tour! Ask for Barry!

Our tour leader, Phil, and our driver, Niall, were great! Phil was very knowledgeable about the area and history and kept us very engaged with facts, jokes, and songs as Gaeilge. We had a beautiful sunny and warm day and both Inis Oírr and the Cliffs of Moher were spectacular.

I am giving only an average rating because this is advertised as a small group tour and is significantly more expensive than other tours. While the bus may have been a small group of people, we definitely were not a small group on the ferry (fair enough) and then we joined 3-4 other tour groups on the "cruise" past the Cliffs of Moher, which meant we were vying for space to take photographs of the cliffs. Being on the packed boat and struggling to get photographs took away from my enjoyment of just being at the astoundingly beautiful cliffs.

It's most likely not safe to take a small boat out on those waters with the temperamental Irish weather. But please don't advertise this as a small group tour - outside of the times inside the bus, it is definitely not small group. And I feel like a saw a lot less in this tour than when the tour I did last year (Leenane Village, Killary Fjord...) which was half the price and where we stopped several times.

Both Inis Oírr and The Cliffs of Moher are amazing, of course. Tip: if you do take this trip, cut your time on Inis Oírr short and get to the front of the line for the boat cruise. If it's a sunny day, you could get a seat outside! (Maybe even if it's a rainy day.)

Again, this rating does not reflect the quality of service provided by Phil and Niall.

Lally tours (John) was absolutely amazing to work with for our destination wedding. Everyone loved the day trips and he ensured our group travelled together even though everyone booked individually. He was at our welcome event to answer questions for people, helped arrange busses, and even led a pub tour for our group.

We had taken a trip to Galway a year earlier and signed up for the Cliffs/Burren day trip just to see what it was like. We were very impressed which is why we contacted them to see what the options were for groups.

We would highly recommend Lally for anyone visiting Galway!

We traveled by minibus from central Galway to Rossaveal, with a brief Connemara photo-op stop along the way. We then took the small ferry to the Aran Islands. The ferry stopped first at Inishmaan, but we all stayed on to Inis Oírr/Inisheer. Then it was up the hill to Tigh Ruairí, where I had a seafood chowder and half a Smithwick's. Yum.

We had time to walk around, but I decided to join most of the passengers on a pony and cart tour. This way, we saw most of the island, including the shipwrecked cargo vessel Plassey. Then it was back to the dock to catch the ferry to Doolin, with a detour to sail close to the Cliffs of Moher.

Our driver was waiting for us in Doolin, and we drove back to Galway along the County Clare coast, past the limestone pavement of the Burren. The commentary was thoughtful and informative, and we paused at a 'famine village', a small community that was deserted during An Gorta Mór, the great hunger of the late 1840s.

It was a fabulous day, and I recommend Lally Tours.

Wow, wow, wow!! Phil and Niall outdid themselves. We spent an incredible day with them, covering amazingly diverse parts of the Galway Bay. The smallest Aran island was rugged and beautiful. We had a chance to grab a quick lunch, then wander to see the castle ruin at the top of the island, get a good glance at the old cemetery and walk along the white sand beach, where hearty vacationers were swimming in the bluest of blue-green water. Then another ferry to the Cliffs of Moher. I mean—just incredible. And the Burren! Fascinating landscape and sights. We had ample opportunities to stop—and the Hazel Mountain chocolate store cannot be beat. All the while Niall kept us safe and moving and Phil told engaging stories and knew everyone everywhere we went. We couldn’t have improved upon this day. Our thanks!

My daughter and I had an amazing time on Lally Tours, Small Group Tour to the Aran Islands, Cliffs Of Moher, Connemara and the Burren. Our guide Phil was extremely knowledgeable, giving in depth commentary on all aspects of Irish life, history and geography. The small group setting made for a very personal experience and the Mercedes mini bus was extremely comfortable. The scenery along the Wild Atlantic Way was absolutely jaw dropping, and Phil’s commentary was extraordinary, as befits a retired teacher with 25 years of experience. I felt like I was getting a private tour for a group price, the value was amazing.
I cannot recommend this tour enough!!

This tour gives you the best of everything Galway has to offer. Barry was so friendly and knowledgeable he made the tour personal for all of us. Our group had only seven people and he and Mike provided a great experience.

Mike expertly navigated the narrow and windy roads and made us feel safe the entire time. Everything went according to plan and we were able to sit and have a lovely lunch at the pub on Innisheer. Stops along the bus route to and from the ferry were also well narrated as Barry is a native of the area and well versed in its history and culture.

Overall the trip is an incredible value for the price. 10/10 would recommend. 11 if you get Barry and Mike.

A great way to experience a lot of the countryside in one day. Our guide, Phil, gave great commentary while we were on the bus and we had plenty of room to spread out. A ferry took us to the Aran Island of Inis Oirr. There we could choose to explore the island on a hike led by Phil or, for a small additional fee, rent bikes or take a horse drawn cart. Different members of my family chose each option and all were happy with their choice. I chose the horse drawn cart and loved it. If offered the option on the cart, take the front seat.

On the ferry ride back we went under the Cliffs of Moher that we had hiked on top of a couple of days before. They are breathtaking from both angles. Unfortunately a couple of people were sea sick. Be sure to take some Dramamine with you if you have that tendency.

I had a phenomenal experience with Lally Tours in Galway. My trip was the Small Group Tour to the Aran Islands, Connemara, the Burren, and the Cliffs of Moher. The tour guide Phil was extraordinarily knowledgeable about Irish history and sociocultural information. The tour itself took place in a large van that was well suited for a small group, providing an intimate setting. We saw the scenery of the Wild Atlantic Way which was nothing short of astounding and had the opportunity to observe the terrain on foot on multiple occasions. Phil provided commentary during the tour that was informational and interesting. This tour was extremely well priced and was great value for money. I cannot recommend it enough!

Phil and Barry were fantastic. I highly recommend this tour. Totally worth it for our family of 7, all adults. If you don't have a lot of time in Galway, this is a great way to pack a lot in. If you do have more time in Galway, you will get plenty of tips from Phil for other things to do while. you are here! Phil was very friendly and genuine in his passion for sharing the history and culture of this beautiful area. It did not feel like a tour at all but way more personal-like. The small-group type experience is totally worth it!

The view of the cliffs from the boat was incredibly exciting. I highly recommend the extra bonus of the horsecart ride about the island. Oliver and his dear horse gave us a lovely visit out to the shipwreck and some incredible views. I recommend bringing some Euros with you so you can enjoy the horsecart ride.

Hi Sue! I'm so delighted to hear that you had such a fantastic time on tour with Phil. I will make sure to pass on your kind words. He will be thrilled you enjoyed the day so much. Getting to experience a horse and card ride on Inis Oirr is an experience i'm sure you will not forget! Thank you again Sue for choosing to explore the West with Lally Tours and hopefully we will see you again soon. Go raibh míle maith agat, Hannah

This small group tour to the Aran Islands and Moher Cliffs was brilliant with a fantastic tour guide Seán and our driver Sarah Jane from Conamarra! Our guide is a local
Celebrity and both he and the driver are fluent Irish speakers, adding to the connection with the locals on Inis Oirr who run the hotel and the pony cart rides!
There was brilliant music with local fiddling legend Eileen Ivers, known the world over in all folk festivals in the US. The ancient stone’s two the story of centuries of resilience and prevailing folk!
The ferry rides and the cliffs were exhilarating and the sea is mighty to behold! Being on the top deck requires a poncho for staying dry and below deck is cozy with crew that may take the piss if you’re asking for a cup of tea to early or too late in the voyage!

This tour was informational, informal and included some fantastic story telling! So grateful to be able to enjoy this wonderful day with my son as we adventure around Ireland and Northern Ireland! Peace
