About the operator
- erinaF5929WE00Abbey and Leenane tourWe did the Kylemore Abbey and Leenane tour from Lilly Tours and our guide was Michael. The tour started on time with a giant white bus in front of the Hyde hotel. The bus was very “user friendly” and had a front AND back door. It was convenient because we stayed at the Hyde hotel and just walked downstairs for the tour. Michael started the tour with a drive around the city as he told us fun facts about each site. He was very informative and funny at the same time (plenty of jokes about the toilet). He stopped quite a few times to give us a chance to get off the bus and take pictures. At Leenane, he gave us advice to try an “Irish Coffee” and we did! It was actually pretty good and we made sure to tell him. At Kylemore Abbey, we got about 2.5 hours there or so. It was plenty of time and we got to see everything and didn’t rush. Michael told us how to maximize our time there, which was to take the shuttle to the walled gardens first. The garden was first because it’s also the farthest from the abbey. I believe it’s at least a 20 minute walk depending on how you walk. We took the shuttle which got us there in 3 mins. or so. Depending on your timing, you may have to wait for the shuttle to get back. Don’t forget guys, you WILL also be walking around the garden so why not relax and take the shuttle. When we were done with the garden we took the shuttle back which dropped us off at the pick up. Since the shuttle pick up/drop off was around the corner from the Abbey, we went to see the Abbey next. We did this because we didn’t know how much of the Abbey will be open for the public to see and didn’t want to miss out. The Abbey is huge!!!!! especially when you see a map of it from the inside. You get to see quite a few rooms but you won’t get to see everything, which is fine so don’t complain lol. It was still VERY worth it especially knowing it’s romantic history. Remember, you DON’T need to read everything, it will take your a long time especially if you’re on a schedule. Just glance and read certain ones and keep walking. We walked over to the mausoleum after the Abbey especially since it was at the other end of the path. The mausoleum will be to your left in a small corner, just look for a SMALL brick building. You will literally just see the small building/tomb from the outside. You DON’T go in the building (I only say this because I overheard people not wanting to walk there because they didn’t “want to walk inside a crypt”). We walked back to see the church, it was a beautiful site and stayed for a little bit since it was the last site to see. We still had about 20-25 mins to spare so we walked back slowly taking pictures. We didn’t feel rushed at all but then again we didn’t look at every single name of the flowers in the garden etc…Overall, the day was great thanks to Michael and the tour.
- C751EWtomk00Wonderful day tour with Michael as our guide and driver. This was the second tour with Lally Tours for us on this visit to Ireland. Michael made it a very nice day trip for us. Profesional, courteous, and knowledgeable, he conducted an enjoyable and stress free day trip. The area we visited was beautiful as well. Thank you.
- chonac201700Beautiful views at the Cliffs of MoherJohn B. was our Lally tour bus driver for the day. He was friendly, good natured snd courteous. He was knowledgeable and really enjoyed informing the tour group regarding important information about the area and the Irish people. John B. made our tour to the Cliffs of Moher one that we will never forget
- emilykV5672EB00Worth Every PennyWe took this tour on a weekday in May as a group of 4 adults. John, our guide, was absolutely phenomenal - he was funny and really knowledgable about the area. We learned a lot about the area that we would have missed if we'd driven ourselves, as well as the culture and history. He also was great for recommendations for other portions of our overall stay. The bus had both AC and a bathroom and was comfortable. We also stopped fairly frequently, so we were never sitting for too long a stretch. Our tour took us to Ailwee Caves, which was quick and interesting and worth the small admission fee (9euro). Next we went to the Cliffs, which were stunning. It would have been nice to have a bit more time just because the hike was nice and our weather was so perfect, but we still saw a lot in the time we had. Lunch in Doolin was delicious. The unexpected highlight of the trip though was the stop off at the Burren - it could have been the time of year and the weather that contributed, but it was so worth it and I wish we had more time to explore here. We even saw some dolphins on the ride back which John spotted first and pulled over for a few minutes so we could all see! We would 100% recommend this tour if you're looking for a convenient and efficient way to see a bunch of sites in a day trip. Even when you're not at an official stop, the scenery is amazing and we learned a ton.
- Q8758DJolgab00Don’t hesitate to book Lillie ToursI loved this tour! Bus was very comfortable our driver John kept us informed and we were able to see more than mentioned on the tour. He is fantastic. Hope you get him. He is very knowledgeable of the area in many aspects. The Cliffs are a wonderful stop!!
- Q8758DJolgab00A must! This abbey is a must on your visit to Ireland. It is just magnificent in a magical location. The gardens are incredible, won’t forget the walks on the grounds. The cafe is excellent!!!!
- kerrit201300Beautiful dayJohn our bus driver was very friendly and informative. We enjoyed all the sights and there was an appropriate amount of time at each place. The lunch in Doolin had something for everyone in our very picky family and it was delicious. Would highly recommend this tour company.
- mloren400Connermera & Kylemore Abbey - May 2023We did this tour on May 19 2023. Our driver was Frank. This tour was somewhat disappointing. The tour is headlined Kylemore Abbey. There is a lot to see there ( the Abbey, the Gardens and the Chapel) which are spread out over a mile. There is a frequent tram from the central area to the Gardens. Sadly we got less than 2 hours at the Abbey and that was supposed to the location for lunch. So we were forced to choose between using much of our limited time eating lunch or tour and go hungry. We visited Leenane village for 30 minutes but I do not know why as there is little there. Drove by the "Quiet Man" bridge but did not slow or stop for photos. Besides the Abbey we stopped a small city called " An Spideal" that many people recommended but only for 15 minutes where we parked alongside a busy road along the waterfront. The driver/guide did not seem to be interested in sharing information. The entire introduction to "An Spideal" was, and I quote " Here is An Spideal be back in 15 minutes. There are some shops over there." From what I can tell Connemara is simply the area and a nearby park but you do not go into the park on this tour.
- mloren400Cliffs of Moher May 2023We did the Cliffs of Moher day trip from Galway May 18th. John C. was our driver and guide and did a great job. He pointed out many points of interest through out the drive with history relevant to the area. We stopped at Dunguaire Castle for pictures, the Ailwee cave ( 9 euros) , the Cliffs, ( pretty foggy/cloudy and wet), the Burren and a highly organized lunch in Doolin.
- Tessa B00Wonderful and beautiful experienceGreat service from the driver to the person that collected tickets. The bus was clean and comfortable. I really recommend to go with this company!
- C751EWtomk00Professional, polite, knowledgeable Tour CompanyWonderful day trip. John B. was our driver/guide. Very knowledgeable, and it was obvious that he loves the land and culture. Very well done with the timing of stops, with clear and polite information as to length of the pause, and suggestions for what to do. And, no small task, a comfortable and safe ride provided through the countryside. Overall experience was very fine. John B. and supporting staff were very professional, and polite.
- steveh17300Wonderful views and a great day!The view from the cliffs was spectacular. We had wonderful weather. The bus driver was excellent and a very safe driver. The roads to the cliffs are narrow and very winding. Not something you want to drive on if you are used to driving on the right. The visitor center at the cliffs is nice but very busy.
- cogito_signum00Best Tour in Town!John B was a very informative guide- we learned a lot of history about the area with interesting stories! He did well to navigate the tight roads and get us to all our points along the way. The tour is arranged very well, with wonderful sights to visit and an amazing lunch at Fitz's place where the fish chowder can't be beat. The Cliffs of Moher were a major highlight, as well as the lunar landscape of the Burren. Take this tour!
- 53caycew00A Day to RememberMy boyfriend booked a tour to the Cliffs of Moher with Lally tours while on holiday in Ireland. Our driver John B made it an incredible experience for us with his impeccable driving skills and his very informative narration about the geography and its rich history. I learned so much more than I expected to and the drive just flew by because it was SO fun and interesting. It’s was such a surprise when my boyfriend asked me to marry him on the Cliffs of Moher!! John B and the crew were VERY excited for us and even surprised us with glasses of champagne upon return and celebrated our special day with us!! Highly recommend this locally family owned tour if you’re looking to take a tour out of Galway. Thank you so much Lally tour’s for an unforgettable experience and making our day even more special!
- lorenadU4355OA00A good way to explore ConnemaraThe trip was very nice and well organised all along the day, the bus driver made several other stops so that we could take some beautiful pictures of Connemara which was very nice of him, I highly recommend!

Phil was a fantastic guide. He was so funny and kept us laughing no the whole time. We was also incredibly knowledgeable and made stops at some neat spots. I so enjoyed the cliffs boat ride. It was such a great way to see the cliffs. And the horse and carriage ride on Inis Oirr was just wonderful though I wish I had time to make it up to the castle. In all a great tour to catch a good bit around Galway. Thanks for a great day Phil!

We packed an amazing amount of territory and history into one day ! Bus was new and clean. Phil and Shamus were a great team. The tour guide, Phil, was very knowledgeable about the area and virtually every village that we visited. Associated ferries and horse-pulled tour on the islands were well orchestrated. A truly unforgettable experience !

Just completed this tour today. By far the best tour I took on my solo trip. I wish I had arrived in Galway, instead of Dublin, and taken this tour straight away. Phil would have saved me several expensive mistakes in terms of time and money with his thorough knowledge of Ireland. The tour was fun, informative, and quite comfortable. The small group is a far better experience than the large tour buses. Note: when you’re on the cruise after leaving the island, get on board quickly so you can grab a seat on the top deck or on a side seat. I got on too late and ended up with a terrible view of the Cliffs of Moher as everyone crowded around to take photos. Unlike the Irish, tourists can be quite rude and unapologetic.

Absolutely a great experience, both Phil and Niall were wonderful and friendly. We got to learn a ton about history, culture, and geology, and I really felt that Phil went out of his way to try to focus on things that were of interest to the group rather than repeating every part of the tour exactly, which I think is especially impressive given how long he has been giving tours! I will admit we were nervous early in the day when a significant amount of time is spent in transit, but it's well worth it!

I recommend this trip 100%. Phil was amazing :) So charismatic and knowledgeable. I fell in love with the Aran Islands so much that I wised I could have stayed there for a couple of nights.

Had a lovely day with Phil, Niall, and the other folks on the tour! So happy that I booked this tour because of the small group size and because of the cruise to the base of the Cliffs of Moher. The day we went was rainy and misty, but since we were on the cruise we actually got a view of the cliffs and even of puffins hunting at the water! Also really enjoyed the horse carriage ride around Inisheer and seeing the beautiful landscape of the Burren.
Phil was an absolutely wonderful guide -- he shared a ton of great info with us and was kind enough to be my photo support for the day since I was traveling solo. Had such a great time!

This is a wonderful tour if you only have one day in the area. Phil, our tour guide and Naill, our driver are two great people! I can't say enough about how they really made the tour. I have trouble walking and use a rollator--Naill was always there whenever I needed it. Plus he had great insight about a lot of Irish topics. Phil not only had a great deal of knowledge of the places we visited but offered a lot of good ideas about what to see and do otherwise. He even told how to get a great pint of Guinness and this is the first time I really enjoyed the brew!
Even though we had a bit of foggy weather, the cruises and land tour were very enjoyable. The scenery was so beautiful. The horse cart tour was fun. And the rain held off until we were headed back to Galway. The small number of people on the tour was a big plus too, very warm and friendly. I highly recommend this tour.

This small group tour was fantastic. Sean made sure our bus travel was smooth and comfortable. Phil’s obvious knowledge and enthusiasm shone through and his stories, anecdotes and humour had us laughing throughout the day. His care for everyone on the tour was exceptional. We were very lucky with fabulous weather and made the most of every stop on the way round. We highly recommend this tour and commend Phil as an excellent tour guide.

Does it leave in bad weather. Do you think tomorrow is the best day to go if we are leaving town on Saturday? How many hours are spent on a boat? Thanks .

Yes, it will leave in any weather. A normal day of showers now and then is better than constant rain. There are about 2 one hour boat trips.
