This tour was an absolute delight! Our guide Paul really made the trip so very special for us - he was incredibly knowledgable about the geology and anthropology of the region, as well as the whole of Ireland, and provided an almost encyclopaedic level of insight throughout the day. He was also a great laugh and had the whole bus chuckling merrily as we drove between the various stops along the way. He pulled together the day so effortlessly which meant we squeezed the most out of our time at the cliffs and on the island, and even managed a few extra stops on our way back to admire the views.

Galway Tours are a professional outfit with a team of the highest quality. I’d highly recommend this tour and the Connemara National Park trip which we also thoroughly enjoyed.

Thank you guys for making our trip to Galway so memorable!

Our family of 8 took a day tour to the Aran Islands and Cliffs of Moher. This company does a great job of organizing a bus load full of people. I don’t know how they did it. I was especially impressed at how they coordinated lunch at a local pub. It’s a (very) long day but without question worthwhile.

If you’re hesitant about booking your trip, this is for you. This tour and Tommy was one of the highlights of our Ireland trip. Not only did we get the chance to see breathtaking scenery but we also got to learn more about Ireland’s history and stories about its people from the very charming and funny Tommy. The tour is absolutely worth every euro as you get to experience so many different things in the span of one day. We can only recommend it (especially remembering the great pub food and Tommy’s charm).

I loved Aran islands! We took the tractor tour and had a lovely local guide. The cliffs of Moher were beautiful! Being able to go to the top was fantastic. The cruise for the cliffs was ok if you were luckily enough to get an outdoor seat I’m sure your star rating would be better, however being “inside” and down below left very little opportunity to see anything. The ferry was packed full!
That being said dolphins came and played in the waves of our ferry which was awesome.
Our driver and guide was David he had lots of information and “tips” on how to make your tour special.
All in all it was a great trip and I would do it again!

What a great day! Really had no idea what to expect but all was lovely. Dave, our driver and guide, was friendly and informative, everything went off like clockwork. From Galway we headed through the Burren to a photo-worthy stop on the coast, then down to Doolin where we caught a very wild ride to Inisheer, the closest and smallest of the Aran Islands. Beware, the sea swells were 6 to 7 feet that day and the ferry was a rough ride for some. Dave gave those of us who were worried about seasickness some tips (stand outside at the back, use your legs to compensate for the movement, tighten your stomach muscles, look at the horizon). Once on the island we opted for a horse and trap tour of the highlights but still had time to walk around, talk to a lovely local gentleman and buy some local crafts. Back onto the ferry to see the Cliffs of Moher from the sea. Stunning. Then back to Doolin and onto the bus to spend an hour walking on the cliffs themselves. Even more stunning. By the time we got back onto the bus, everyone was pretty tired so Dave played some traditional (and not so traditional) music as we drove back to Galway.

Well worth the cost, I highly recommend!

Due to corona, our trip was postponed by 1 year. We contacted Galway Tour company to take us from Dublin to Galway and for the day trips. With 15 friends we booked a private bus. We visited the Aran Islands, Cliff of Mohers, Kylemore Abbey and Connemara. Our driver PJ guided us through the fabulous scenery of the west coast. He treated us to special stories and guided us through the small country roads with unique panoramas. If you are planning a trip to Ireland, I can only recommend booking with Galway tour company. They offer that little bit more that makes the trip unforgettable.

David and I visited Ireland for the first time a few weeks back, and were so excited to visit Galway. He had booked this adventure with hopes we would see some beautiful sites and learn more about the country. We started off the day being the first ones picked, and our tour guide Tommy was extremely friendly and welcoming.

During the drive through the countryside to the islands, he shared so many wonderful historical and comical stories that we really enjoyed listening too. He also shared great recommendations on where to grab a pint or share fish and chips.

While on the island, we took a quick tour and then stopped for lunch. We had a few pints and the best fish n chips we've ever had. The sun ended up coming up and was an extremely hot day.

We next hopped back on to the boat for the tour along the cliffs, which was absolutely stunning. The pictures could never do the beauty justice.

Later, we visited the top of the cliffs for an hour to enjoy more views and photo opportunities. Walking along the cliffs, Tommy joined us and mentioned he walks up and down everyday to get his steps in. A few minutes later, David asked Tommy to take a picture of us and then he actually proposed. Tommy knew all along, he had been in on the surprise and got the special moments on camera. It was magical.

On the final leg of the drive home along the ocean, he surprised us further and stopped to get us glasses of champagne to celebrate. He really went above and beyond to make our day special. We wrapped those glasses up in our suitcases and brought them home. A memory and time we will never forget, thanks to Tommy.

We highly recommend this tour with him and we will absolutely be back to visit to see him again!

The whole day was planned out so perfectly. Our driver Tommy did an amazing job driving us everywhere we needed to be. I'm so glad I wasn't driving on those roads with a lot of knowledge about the area's history. The first stop was at the dock to get the boat out to the Inisheer Island. What a treat that was. Once on the island you could take a horse and buggy, a tractor with a wagon, walk, or rent some bikes. For 10 Euros we took some bikes and were able to easily see the sunken church, shipwreck, castle, and lighthouse. On the boat ride back you come to the base of the Cliffs of Moher. It wasn't a super long time but it was more than enough. After we docked and boarded the bus we stopped for lunch at a nice pub in Doolan. That place has it figured out for sure. they accompanied the entire bus without issue (lunch not included on the tour but was inexpensive). After lunch it was off to the top of the cliffs. It was stunning for sure. On the way back we stopped at some other great views. It was a long day for sure. Well worth it.

Our family has used Galway Tours on several occasions, both the bus tours as well as a personal driver in a luxury sedan. For a family group (younger folks) the bus tour is great and well affordable. Our latest trip we requested a personal driver and a sedan (2 slightly aging adults). Padraic (Gaelic for Patrick) was very helpful and informative. He took us from Galway to Tralee to meet cousins on the Dingle point and The Cliff's of Moher then back to Galway along the beautiful coast of Galway Bay. We were lucky and had him again for the northern tour to Connemara then Clifden and back to Galway. He catered our tour to our preference with as many or as few stops as needed. (photo, castles, lunch, potty, etc) The office staff was helpful to book the trip and we were able to change the schedule if needed. HIGHLY RECOMENDED!!

Tommy was an excellent tour guide! We learned so much about the history of Galway and Ireland. The bus ride to Doolin was beautiful, but if you get car sick, take medication before you go (it will also help while on the boat)! The sea was calm on our cruise to the Aran island and bike riding was a lot of fun. If you want to make it all the way to the lighthouse, you need to leave by bike right away, but the sunken cemetery and top of hill castle were also cool. The cruise over to the Cliffs of Moher was beautiful and, luckily, calm. A late lunch (3pm) at a Doolin pub was great (we had fish and chips) and was close to the tops of the Cliffs of Moher. Upon arrival at the top of the cliffs, walk quickly to the right where the best outlook is a 15 min walk north (breathtaking views). The drive back to Galway was so beautiful and was filled with more history lessons from Tommy. Drive to and from included drive-by views of castles and thatched roof buildings. Wonderful tour overall!
