Lovely area with fantastic knowledgable host
Marina was an absolute joy, so friendly, so knowledgeable and so responsive. We were blessed with a lovely day for the trip along the beautiful South Dublin suburbs. Pace was quite brisk, but Marina always checked everyone was OK. The area was fascinating and Marina’s knowledge of the history and contemporary highlights was extensive. I was able to ask some burning quirky questions I’d not been able to get answers to previously and Marina filled in the gaps in my knowledge. The DART rail links are so reliable and enable the walk to venture further, whilst providing sufficient time to enjoy the places but be confident of returning to port on time. Thanks for a fantastic day, Marina; far & away the highlight of our cruise.

My husband and I did a private walking tour with Marina while in Dublin for a few days. We were staying in central Dublin while my husband attended a conference at Trinity College and the conference organizer suggested we spend an afternoon in Dun Laoghaire (aka Dunleary). It was so easy to get there - quick ride on the commuter train - and wow, what a beautiful part of Dublin! Marina was by far the best tour guide we’ve ever had (and that’s saying something because we had done walking tours in every city that we visit). Her tour combines a bit of everything - beautiful sites, personal insights into her life as a South Dubliner, culture, history, and lots of uniquely interesting tidbits. The walking route is stunning with lovely coastline and quaint neighborhood. Marina is genuinely passionate and the sweetest, kindest guide. It’s like going on a tour with a dear cousin who’s very knowledgeable. I can’t recommend her tour enough!

We booked to do the walking with Marina for 5th September, there were approx 12 people in the group, as we had docked from the cruise ship Vista. it was a fairly warm day and we strolled along at an easy pace, stopped to buy Ice cream and see the local sea side of Dun Laoghaire, taking in some villages and points of interest along the way. Marina has been been bought up in the area and has a very good knowledge of the history and area.
Would highly recommend to take a walking tour with her if your in the area.

Marina is an excellent guide who is well acquainted with her local area and conducted the tour in a fun, enjoyable way. I loved seeing the marine life and the view from the railway ride. I would heartily recommend the tour for any visitors to Dublin. It was lovely to see the seaside areas outside of the city centre and to meet others on the tour :)

I took the self-guided walking tour starting in Dun Laoghaire which ended in Dalkey with an optional scenic rail experience a few stops further.
I went with a friend which made the experience much more magical, but walking solo is perfectly fun too.
Personally, I did not want to be held to time constraints or waiting on others in a group, simply because not everyone wants to venture off the tour and come back. Some like the consistency of a group setting, I prefer to do my own sightseeing.
Marina, let’s you do just that... Sightseeing at your own pace.

Marina sent us the verbal guided tour in sections based on where she wanted you to be and the history behind each area. If you follow her guidance, you can’t get lost.
She also sends you a map with all points of interest pinned, so you can follow along in case you get turned around. The walk is pretty strait forward; head south, along the coast.

My friend and I ventured off in each point of interest stopping in wine bars and pubs along the way. A glass of Prosecco and a cheese plate did wonders to charge the energy levels and keep moving.

The scenery is breath taking, as you can imagine. The local baths are insane for the average American. You’ll see why as you pass along the points Marina gives you.

It was an amazing tour which I highly recommend.

Marina, our lovely guide was fantastic. 👏👏So well informed and such a lovely way about her. Great tour as Marina explained the history of Dun Laoghaire, Glastule, Sandycove and Dalkey so well. The stop off to James Joyce Museum at the Martello Tower was a highlight and I feel inspired to start reading Joyce again. Really enjoyable tour and would highly recommend it. Lovely way to to spend a Saturday morning.

What a perfect way to spend a gloriously sunny Sunday! Marina felt more like a friend than a guide. She led her band of walkers from Dun Laoghaire along the picturesque coast, through pretty villages, stopping at little-known places of interest. Her communication was second to none and she responded within minutes to any messages. I could go on but I’ll finish by saying it was undoubtedly the highlight of our cruise holiday. Thanks Marina!

A really excellent walking tour. Marina has a huge knowledge of the area and she brings it to life in an easy to understand manner. We did this walking tour despite living close to the area, there was so much we didn’t know about our locality, so it’s not just a tour for tourists, locals should use it too.

Our family was more than satisfied with this walking tour. We got to roam the more exclusive and what you would call underrated parts of Dún Laoghaire. Such as the gorgeous neighborhoods, castle remains, a historic museum, and a local swimming area that’s mainly used for health benefits. Overall, this tour felt personal towards the town compared to just snapping pics at tourist hotspots.

We took Marina’s walk today and it was great! She is knowledgable, personable and full of interesting facts and stories of the area. The walk is flat but somewhat fast paced [with several short stops] and flat. We covered around 4 miles and walked through 4 villages.

A great way to experience Dublin’s adjacent commuter communities if you don’t want to spend the day in Dublín.

We had a wonderful walking tour with Marina, she was so easy to get along with and full of interesting facts about the local area. We enjoyed all the historical gems she shared and visiting the villages along the coast from Dun Laoghaire to Bray. We absolutely recommend this experience, a brilliant way to spend a few hours just outside of Dublin.
