A story that is hard to hear but well told. Great social enterprise.
Ken is a super guide and tells his brutal & true story of trauma, addiction, homeless and recovery with openness and honesty. Great social enterprise.

    Dublin, the bigger picture
One of the highlights of our trip to Dublin. Kenny was a brilliant guide to the area around Dublin Castle and how the issues of homelessness and addiction have impacted the city and its people, including myself. It will give you lots to think about, and although there were many tragic stories told, Kenny also had a great sense of humour, fair play to him! Everyone who comes to Dublin should do this tour.

Excellent way to see another side of the Capital City. Kenny our tour guide was professional, insightful and great fun! Would recommend it both Dubliners and visitors alike.

Ken was an excellent tour guide!
Our tour of Dublin South inner city with Kenny was a great experience. We went as a group of work colleagues and were the only ones on the tour which was a bonus! Ken knows his stuff on the history of Dublin and the stories behind the surroundings. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in a lesser heard story of Dublin!

    Unique tour
I highly recommend this walking tour. We were given a unique insight in to the inner city. We were interested to hear Kens' story, but he was also well informed about the history of the city and could tailor-make his tour to suit many interests.

    A must-do when in Dublin
Fantastic, thoroughly recommend this tour. We were a group of 6: mums, sisters, cousins, friends who ranged in age from 80-50 and Kenny made this tour so enjoyable, informative, funny and thought provoking. It's at an easy pace and if we can do it so can you. This tour would suit a great variety of groups. We wish Kenny all the best the world can throw at him

    Best Surprise
The Homeless Walking Tour was such a surprise! I recommend any and all to take this one hour walking tour of Dublin. He guided us through Dublin's most famous spots but from the perspective of the homeless. Our tour guide was funny and knowledgeable and willing to answer ANY question. Such an incredible story! You won't be disappointed!

We did this tour with Kenny and Nolan as our guides. They were both so interesting. It was very good to see parts of the city through their eyes. The only thing I would change is it was too short!!! Would have loved to been on a longer tour.

    Brilliant experience
Kenny was absolutely brilliant. A genuine guy with great passion. We were a group from Denmark, and he and his buddy Noel made the trip a highlight. They had great banter but also great insight and knowledge of the various areas. Thanks for a great trip Kenny!!

    A Must do!
What an amazing project Secret Street Tours is!! We had a group tour of the south inner city with Kenny and his celebrity pal Noel. It was both educational and inspirational to hear their stories. As we work with young children in the south inner city, this gave us a real insight into what is happening on the streets of Dublin every day. The delivery of the tour from both lads was so authentic, genuine and with a sprinkle of Dublin wit and humor. Highly recommend this tour and wish the lads all the best!

    An Insightful Tour
Thanks to Kenny for the very insightful tour of Inner City Dublin. It was a pleasure to meet you, hear your story of living on the streets and how you are now giving back and to learn about the challenges of homelessness, mental health and addictions. Thanks to Secret Street Tours for making this possible. It was a highlight of my trip to Dublin.

Exceptional Virtual Tour - Can't wait to do in person!!
Thank you so much Shane for sharing your experiences and knowledge of Dublin with our virtual tour group! It was informational, insightful, and moving. Kenny also popped in for the Q&A session and so glad we got his perspective as well. This tour did a great job opening up discussion about homelessness and connecting us with two amazing personalities with authentic and engaging stories. Do the virtual tour!! And will definitely plan on doing an in-person one when I am able to travel to Dublin!

    Deeply insightful and thoroughly enjoyable
I cannot recommend this tour enough. Everything about it was excelent. We brought a group of Transition Year students as they cannot do many of their usual indoor activities as part of Covid-19 restrictions. I would highly recommend it to any school looking for activities that their students will learn from and thoroughly enjoy. The feedback from the students themselves was overwhelmingly positive (not something TY's are known for!). Well done to all involved, great tour.

Excellent tour!!! Great to learn more about my city and more importantly through the eyes of someone who lived here as a homeless person. Highly recommend this tour to everyone whether you’re from Dublin or not. Shane was a brilliant tour guide - knowledgeable, honest and heartfelt.

Shane was my tour guide today and I really enjoyed every aspect of the tour. It showed a different side to Dublin that most of us never see as visitors to the city. Thank you Shane for the knowledge you shared, you are an inspiration and a credit to the tour company you represent.

We found out about this tour while watching the news and immediately wanted to book it and it was totally worth it. We were lucky enough to be the only ones who had signed for the tour on that day, and it was an amazing experience. Shane is really knowledgeable about the area and not only he's willing to share about the history of the places you visit during the tour but also he is very open about his experience. He is an amazing tour guide, outgoing, relaxed and since it was only two of us we really got to have a nice conversation. It's an interesting tour that will open your eyes and mind to the city in a different way. A must during your visit to Dublin.

This fantastic tour lead by our very capable and knowledgeable guide, Shane was insightful, interesting, funny and inspiring. His frank account of his personal experiences and battles provided clear understanding of day to day life of a homeless person. One of the best walking tours I’ve done. Would highly recommend to anyone.

This was my second time back- Shane in great form- going from strength to strength. Very interesting pleasant person with a real personal back story and such an openness. This tour is doing some very important work for the homeless community in Dublin. It helps the general public realise how easy it would be to become homeless, how the system works and how a homeless person spends their day. This tour is a must for anyone who lives in or visits Dublin.

This is such an amazing project. I did Shane’s tour today. What an inspirational guy turning his life around. Fascinating to get an insight into & understand better the homeless issue whilst gaining interesting facts about the area. If there’s one tour to book on a visit to Dublin this is it. Change your perception of the homeless & help towards improving the situation. Well done to all involved

Shane is an amazing speaker and he led the tour by providing important information about Irish history and homelessness in the area of Smithfield.
It was great discovering places we usually walk by without really knowing what’s behind the door.

The tour raises awareness about the sad situation of homelessness that still exists in Dublin and in Ireland in general and can give ideas on how we can give back to try and help as individuals.

All the best Shane with your upcoming projects :)

I went on this tour today with Shane, an amazing tour guide who opened up about his own experiences with homelessness in Dublin City with great humour, compassion and information about what he had to go through in Ireland, a country that does not invest enough in solutions like social housing and solid support networks, The tour was probably the most authentic I have ever done, and I do a lot of tours and run tour companies in Montreal. I would love to import the concept of Secret Street Tours to Montreal, but sadly and outdated by-law called G-2 makes it is illegal for anyone to give a guided tour unless they have a "permit" that costs $2200, requires 8 months of study and a high level of English-French bilingualism. How can anyone experiencing homelessness afford that? I am hoping to learn more from the creators of Secret Street Tours and have signed up to the mailing list. In Montreal, 14 homeless people recently died after a shelter called the Open Door was shuttered. We NEED something like this o help empower the disadvantaged and to educate locals and tourists about the social problems stemming from government inaction on files like these! Thank you to Shane and the amazing team behind this incredible initiative!
