Bought a premium 2-day ticket, although I found the drivers ultimately don't check tickets too much, just flash the purple ticket and you're on. A great first day tour option, doing a big 1.5 hour loop across the centre and Liberties, and I had a great driver offering commentary. Generally the drivers are good, although some are better than others and some just have a recording instead of live speaking. In terms of transport, it's a comfort having the option to get on and sit down at so many stops, but since its one way unless you're taking a relaxed pace you might be better with more direct options.

I opted for the 72 hour tour, and I don't regret it. Karl was my driver for two of the rides, and I thoroughly enjoyed his tour. His information was super informative, and he kept everyone laughing with his hilarious commentary. Karl definitely seemed like it all came naturally to him. I took his night tour as well, which was super relaxing way to see the city. He went out of his way to make sure that everyone was having an enjoyable time, and that everyone felt welcome.

Overall, the Big Bus tour is an easy, fun, and informative way to get around the city when you're not yet familiar with all of the roads.

On Tuesday 15th March 2022, my partner and I were on the first big bus tour of Dublin of the day. We had Karl as our bus driver. We found he was very informative with the information about the city with excellent local knowledge. The fact this was only his second week into the job he appeared to be a natural.

There was not a single moment that he wasn’t enthusiastic, there was moments when the bus had multiple people on it or just us but he still gave it his all and didn’t drop the performance. He made it enjoyable and a trip to remember with his jokes he made and funny personality: at the same time this made us remember lots of the information.

He made the tour seem unique and personal to each guest as we asked for local soda bread recommendations and he remembered throughout the tour pointing out local shops for us to try and bakeries to scope out for the bread. Likewise several hours after the tour my partner and I were walking down a road when Karl passed with a new tour and he took the time to wave as he drove past us.

Overall we had a great experience looking around the city, being able to jump on and off was brilliant however hands down Karl made this experience one to remember and so much more enjoyable.

The best bus tour I have ever been on. On arriving for the tour the booking email had not arrived, my friend showed John the driver the PayPal conversation said it was not a problem and to hop on and he would contact the office, part way through the trip he asked for a screen shot to forward to the office as they did not have a record, all through this he put us at our ease and his customer service was second to none. During the tour he was informative , knowledgeable and amusing. We were a party of 5 who all enjoyed the trip unfortunately we were unable to hop off and on due to limited time as we also had theatre tickets booked for the afternoon, I will certainly rebook on my next visit to Dublin

Michael and Brian were our favorite tour guides that we had, and they gave very well, and funny, commentary throughout the ride. We used the bus to help us get around the city, but it was perfect for rainy days when we still wanted to see new things and not get drenched. We chose the 2-day pass which came with the Teeling Whiskey Tour which was amazing. I wish the meals deals and free pint that came with the ticket were better advertised because we did not know about them until the day before our trip, but in all, we would buy tickets again.

This bus did not seem to run as frequently as the green Hop On Hop Off bus which I meant to book. Didn’t realize when I bought my ticket that this was another company. The commentary was recorded and not as interesting as it could have been. The green Hop On Hop Off bus included admission to the Little Museum, which I wanted to see. Had long waiting times each time I wanted to get back on the bus. 2 or 3 green buses would pass in the time I waited for the red Big Bus. Waste of money and time.

Hi there, I'm sorry to hear that you did not fully enjoy your time with us. I was incredibly surprised by your comments as we are currently running a 10-15 minute service. Also, while we do offer pre-recorded commentary, we also have live guides which is one of the reasons we get so many 5-star reviews on TripAdvisor. Many thanks again for your feedback, All the best, Big Bus Dublin Team

The bus is a great way to see the city and get the information that you need to make the most of your visit in a way that books and leaflets can’t provide. The driver/ guides we had during our 24 hour ticket provided great information with great humour and obvious affection for Dublin. Thanks guys! The only disappointment was that the tour didn’t pass or provide narration on Kilmainham Gaol. It was easy to get to though getting off and walking though Ireland Museum of Modern Art.
The ticket provided a free glass of Guinness at Nancy Hands Bar (or a pint at the discounted rate of €3.30) All part of the experience.

A hop on hop off is always interesting to explore a city. The driver and guides on the bus gave great, comical information on the route, a pity that the bus stopped driving fairly early in the evening, we took the bus for 2 days but could never do the whole ride. Bit on the expensive side though.

In typical Irish weather, today it did nothing but rain (very heavily), and we were using the bus to get to the other side of Dublin, the zoo. We got the bus pass free with our Dublin Pass (also highly recommend) and decided to use it rather than public transport - so glad that we did. We had a lovely driver who let us sit on his bus for 25 mins out of the rain as he was a hotel shuttle, rather than making us wait outside in the rain, he invited us on and gave us some great tips on where to go and see the best live music. Then he introduced us to our new driver and waved us off, lovely touch. The guide on our bus to the zoo was super informative and funny! Little tiny facts that were really nice touches and we really enjoyed it. We then departed at the zoo and had a lovely time (also highly recommend). Upon leaving the zoo, we saw the big brown bus looping around the roundabout and knew that we would miss it as we were still a 5 minute quick walk away from it. However the driver waited for us because he had a feeling we may have been rushing for him! Such a lovely touch from a lovely kind driver. Can’t recommend these lovely drivers/tour guides enough!

Amazing. The driver Anne was a great guide, we made a whole round with her and she explained everything, plus some jokes and even singing.

The service was great since you can use it to move in the city and get wherever you need as a tourist.
