What an amazing immersive experience this tour was, loads of behind the scene information about the series, saw fantastic places, lots and lots of walking in the forest and in general a really memorable fun tour. Lars (tour guide) and Denis (best driver) was very accomodating and full of energy not a dull moment during an entire day of tour. A very well worth it experience.

We booked this tour with a little knowledge of the series and base on the reviews of the tour we had read here in trip advisor and was are really glad that we took it.

Definitely a fun and exciting tour!!! Highly recommended for GOT fans!!! Our tour guide was an extra for the show, as he took us through the different shooting scenes, he was telling us many backstage stories! The cloak and sword were the highlights of the tour, I won the quiz on the bus so I got to choose which hero sword to hold; naturally I went with my favourite yet died too soon hero Ned Stark’s “Ice”.

Hi Hilda, Thanks for a fantastic review and we are delighted you chose "Ice" - in the name of Robert of the House Baratheon, first of his name, King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and protector of the Realm I, Eddard of the House Stark, Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North, sentence you to die". Sorry I just had to say that.... 🐺 🏰 🗡️

If you get the possibility to go on this tour, do it.
Lar is the perfect guide. He has so many stories to tell from his experiences as extra on big film productions; and he tells them with humor and energy so even your teenagers will forget their smartphones.
Beautiful landscapes, fresh air, lots of laughter, and also many historical facts about Northern Ireland. Thanks Lar for a wonderful day -and for the song!

I did the tour yesterday with a friend and we were lucky enough to get a mixture of wonderful weather and a fully entertaining and knowledgeable tour guide.

The day was well planned and well laid out. From start to finish we were entertained and engaged, whether on the bus or trekking to filming locations while wearing cloaks.

Lar, our tour guide was interested in the subject matter and was interesting to listen to. His obvious love for the show and its characters really added to what was already a great experience.

The day is pretty intense. It’s a long day and there’s a lot of walking to be done but it’s worth the effort. The sights that you’ll see will take your breath away. And the information you’ll get will make your next viewing of the show even better.

If I could make two recommendations, they’d be these. Number 1, make sure you stock up on drinks before you leave. There are plenty of places to use the toilet along the way but no real opportunities to get refreshment. And you’re gonna need refreshment.

The second recommendation is…do the tour with a friend. I can’t explain how much fun it is to share the experience with someone. There’s a silliness that you have to accept whilst walking through a forest and wearing a giant cloak. Sharing that silliness with a friend is really a wonderful experience. And you’ll want to have someone to talk to about the things that you’ve seen. It’s too much fun not to share with someone.

And if I can make a final bonus recommendation…stop reading this and book yourself a couple of tickets.

A really amazing experience for those who are fans of the show. Eric was a knowledgable guide throughout our day, and was able to answer any questions given to him, given that he worked on Game of Thrones as an actor. The stop at a nearby Irish pub was also welcomed on what was a very windy, cold day (though I won’t blame the tour for that!) Tip: bring wellington boots and a waterproof with you.

Hi Benjamin, Thanks for taking the time to write a great review for your Winterfell Trek with Eric! Yes you guys were almost caught in Storm Eunice that day, seriously windy....Winter is still here in Ireland this February. Good advice for folks to bring wellingtons in Nov-March period, if they have them. Again thanks for writing a nice review now, as we try to get back on the road after two years off the road. Your kind words help us emerge from the Long Night of the pandemic. The North Remembers :)

Just got back from doing the Winterfell Trek for the second time and we had a really fun time with our guide Robbie. He was full of energy all day with stories from his time working as an extra on season 2. The outdoor locations we visited are all from the early seasons , the guide uses screenshots to show how each location appeared in the show. A lot of the locations are actually from the very first episode of Game of Thrones, where it all began. The cloaks are great quality and look and feel the part :) If you're a fan of Thrones, especially the early seasons, then I would recommend having this experience, you won't regret it.

Hi Azuras, Delighted to hear you had a fun day with Robbie the archer who was killed six times (or seven), mostly in season 2. The cloaks come into their own in autumn when Winter is Coming or on winter tours when it's snowing :) Thanks for choosing our company and seven blessings for your review.

Hi Dominic, Thanks for a great view for Lar as guide and Paul as driver! Lar is an entertainer alright - guiding, TV work, Doors tribute band singer, storytelling, you name it! Amazing tour. Got picked up at 7:45 from the meeting point. Drove to Northern Ireland to multiple locations where the show was filmed. With every location there was a video or a picture that would show you the scene in the show which was really helpful considering its been a few years since I've seen the show. Tour guide was awesome, he was an actual extra on the show! He was really fun and knowledgeable. We were provided cloaks for the whole trip, which was really cool and it kept us warm. I Recommend wearing comfortable shoes since it is a full day tour and you are hiking to most of the sites. Also when you stop at the lobster pot get the seafood chowder which was delicious and a very generous portion! Would definitely recommend doing this tour

If you love the show, or even if you’re not a fan, this is an amazing way to see parts of the Northern Ireland’s beauty and learn a lot about the show. Highly recommend. Our guide Aenne was a dream. She’s very warm and entertaining and quite knowledgeable. Not only does she know Thrones in and out but she’s an accomplished stage fighter if you want to know more about the swords they let you hold and she did work on the show Vikings. She was also very kind as I was not feeling well during the first walk and thought to go back, but she encouraged me to go on and I’m so happy she did. The driver Denis is very impressive as well, maneuvering that bus through narrow, winding streets and castle gates. Both were so lovely.

The tour takes you to a lot of beautiful sites from the early seasons of the show. You get to learn about how they were used to help create the vision of the world of Westeros, and the amazing work that was done to make them even more grand through cgi and camera tricks. If you’re a fan of the show, or production, or Ireland- this trip is for you. As far as the actual walking, there is a big hill in the beginning of the first trek you will have to climb on the way back, but that’s the worst of it. I’m not in the best shape of my life and was feeling under the weather, but I was able to make it. Just wear good, preferably waterproof shoes and proper layers and you should make it through as well. Great way to spend a day of holiday.
