About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Susan E0 contributionsIncredibly fun tourWe had an incredible time on this tour. Vinny (our driver and tour guide) made this tour fantastic. He took us to some incredible spots, we sang (and drank) in awesome local pubs and thoroughly enjoyed learning about the area and the history too!Written 12 January 2025
- U8543HUmichaeld0 contributionsA great tour of Ireland with Dan from Rabbies travel. What a great trip. Small comfortable 16 seater coach. We stopped at all the "spots". Our guide "Dan" (the man with a van who has a plan) was fantastic. The hotels we stayed at were fabulous. Sights were amazing. If you're looking to do a tour of Ireland then Rabbies is the way to go. Make sure you ask for Dan as your guide. Knowledgeable, pleasant and accommodating.Written 6 December 2024
- S822RWcarolel0 contributionsAmazingThis trip was amazing, I learned so much and out tour guide Dan was so informative and caring he made the trip so enjoyable. We only had 4 people on the trip and he made everyone feel special. His knowledge of Ireland and what we were seeing was impressive.Written 5 November 2024
- V9885FAdenisen0 contributionsBeautiful trips, GREAT toursWe took two day trips with Martin of Rabbies, one to the Ring of Kerry and one to Dingle. We were sad to leave the beautiful areas we visited and were specially sad to leave Martin! He was informative, entertaining, and so responsive to the needs of the people in the group.Written 27 October 2024
- DianaE17250 contributionsUnforgettable tourOur guide Rob made this tour an unforgettable one, impressing us with the breadth of his knowledge about Irish history, his Irish sense of humor, as well as his driving skills. We enjoyed staying in Kinsale and Waterford…Kinsale was a favorite because of its fun vibe and breadth of restaurants. Rabbies did a great job choosing hotels for us. We left the tour feeling we had a better grasp of Irish history over the centuries, as well as greater understanding of how a distillery makes whiskey! We will definitely use Rabbie’s in the future.Written 19 October 2024
- juliebU680JZ0 contributionsSpectacular CoastsRabbies Escape to the Southwest tour gives a fantastic overview of this part of Ireland. The days are pretty full but there’s enough time to explore. The beauty of the Rabbies tours is you can go at whatever pace suits you. Our driver guide Dan shared the history of Ireland, his beautiful singing voice and his passion for his homeland. Strongly recommend if you don’t have much time in Ireland and would like get out of Dublin and see the countryside. The coast is spectacular.Written 3 October 2024
- HiddenJens0 contributionsAggressive, Dangerous DriverDidn't do any tour with Rabbi but we were very unlucky today on Slea Head, Dingle to have met the most aggressive, rude driver shouting at us to reverse back as we were going in the wrong direction. We WERE NOT!! MY partner and two tourists behind us were run off the road by this lunatic. During high season, vehicles are asked to go clockwise in one direction but this goes back to 2 way traffic now. I telephoned Rabbi in Edingburgh to be told the drivers are through its Irish Partner, Killarney. Unfortunately, the defence shutters came down during my conversation with Rose Travel however he did say he would review the footage. This behaviour, this driver is an insult to the people of the Dingle Peninsula.Written 1 October 2024
- BikeR3400 contributionsHot and cramped but saw a lot of Ireland. We did the 14 passenger bus tour. First 5 days were ok, covered a lot of ground and saw interesting places. Driver was difficult to hear as the speakers at our seats didn’t work. Driver did good job of trying to beat the big buses at the various sites. But bus was packed and days very long. On 5th day had to join a different group. So folks we got know were gone elsewhere. We weren’t told we would switch out like that. The last 3 days were pretty bad. Again, packed like sardines and driver would not turn up air conditioner. The heat in the bus was nauseating. Driver did not use speaker system much. It worked but he preferred to talk without it. At best he would stand and face the passengers and speak, but being stuck in the very back in stifling he, we could hear nothing. If these conditions are tolerable, it’s a good way to see a lot of Ireland. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend it. Nightly accommodations were good. If u do this trip, recommend 3 or 5 days max.Written 29 September 2024
- katiehP4371MU0 contributionsLeft my heart in Ireland...incredible tour!!My mom and I had an absolutely wonderful tour around the stunningly beautiful southwest of Ireland. Our driver/guide, Marcus, went above and beyond for everyone on the bus, and made it a memorable trip by telling us about Irish history, myths, the significance of every sight we saw or drove by, and a bit about his childhood and family. He also had great recommendations for places to eat in each town. We had a good amount of time at almost every stop, and as with another Rabbie's tour I'd been on (Isle of Skye), there was a perfect balance between exploring Ireland with the group, and free time to do whatever we'd like. Also, both the B&Bs that Rabbie's booked us in were lovely. All in all, I would absolutely recommend this tour, especially if Marcus is your guide, and I will absolutely book with Rabbie's for a third time next time I'm in a country they operate in!Written 26 September 2024
- CareyF_130 contributionsMagnificent scenery, villages and exceptional guideWe had a wonderful time, learned a lot, and saw gorgeous scenery every day. This tour is the perfect way to spend time in some of the most beautiful towns in Northern Ireland and the northwest of Ireland, including Derry, Donegal, Westport and Clifden. We were on the beautiful coast much of the time and walked on several beaches. We enjoyed a lot of traditional music in Donegal and Westport. Our guide/driver, Mark Ryan, was amazing, smart and very funny. I wish he could publish his 5 day “talks” so I could relive all his great information and funny comments and jokes. He kept us laughing!Written 26 September 2024
- KarenF4660 contributionsExcellent company - but we concluded we are not bus tours type typesOverall it was a decent tour. The first 5 days were great - good driver, funny stories. But then for days 5-7, we had to switch to a new group and change busses. It was miserable. The bus was too hot and because everyone had their seats, the newcomers got the worst. We were packed like sardines. The driver was nice and tried to accommodate. They did too much. It was NOT relaxing. We liked the idea of a small group that got to know each other and stayed consistent. The company did a great job in selecting B&Bs. This trip convinced us we are not the bus tours type. We need a rental car and our own pace.Written 24 September 2024
- terriwO4019AD0 contributionsWonderful experience with this TourGreat way to see Ireland and leave the winding back roads to an experienced guide. I’d looked at staying in Dublin and doing day trips to Dingle Pennisula, Ring of Kerry, etc., until I found Rabbies tours. Enjoyed the option to book your own accommodations and also to eat pretty much when and what you wanted, unlike most small group tours I’ve done where most meals are included. Dan was our driver and taught us so much about Ireland’s history and culture during the rides. He also took us places the big buses couldn’t go, and clearly knew the locations where we traveled.Written 17 September 2024
- Tired_traveller160 contributionsRabbies tour of South West Ireland, small groupWords cannot describe how perfect this tour was. I loved that it was a small group, who became a family, seeing so many beautiful places together. Our tour guide, Dan Foley was utterly exceptional. Told us all about the history of every spot we went to, did secret visits to places where the big buses could not go to, spoke the Irish language at times so we could hear the ancient words….the best tour I have ever done. Dan made the trip so fun and enjoyable, looking after all of us. An incredibly safe and experienced driver too. The accommodation at every stop was B&B and top class. Amazing breakfasts and each stay was scrupulously clean (could not finish the breakfasts as the portions were very generous!). Highly recommend this tour for anyone for their first visit to Ireland, as it was mine. Very sad it had to end. Thank you again Dan the Man! The best guide ever and a gold standard asset to Rabbies 🥇Written 18 August 2024
- DayTrip662556401740 contributionsHighly recommend! This tour exceeded my expectations! Marcus was an excellent guide. We had more stops and saw more than I expected and had the right amount of time at each stop. At certain stops,Marcus got out and showed us things that we might have missed and at other stops just gave recommendations and let us explore on our own. I would highly recommend this tour.Written 18 August 2024

Vinnie, our tour guide and driver, was outstanding! He went above and beyond to share his Irish heritage and culture with us. It was so appreciated. I can not imagine a better tour. His love of the beauty of Ireland was infectious. My husband, Tim, and I saw things we would never have seen if not for Vinnie's skill as a tour guide. He took us to the most beautiful places like the Copper Coast and Wicklow Mountains. That man has a quick wit and pure knowledge of the best areas for photos. We were amazed at the sights and delighted with the lunch spots. This was truly the highlight of our trip. Thank you Vinnie for sharing such a love of Ireland with us!!! This made our anniversary trip so very memorable!

If you are looking for stunning coastline views, gorgeous castle ruins, quaint coastal villages and everything in between this is the tour for you! Our guide and driver, Vinny, was fantastic – Irish charisma and wit galore! – and such a wealth of knowledge about all things Ireland. You could see how proud he was to share his gorgeous country with our small group, and he went out of his way to make sure we experienced the “real Ireland”. Thank you for a lovely three days! We can’t wait to go back!

I really enjoyed our trip overall but there are some things that definitely need improvement. It felt very “unscheduled” I guess, compared to my Scotland trip I took with Rabbies. Things weren’t booked in advance. Our guide didnt really talk a whole lot about history but rather reputation or gave personal opinions. He felt a bit disjointed.
An example: When it came to Blarney, we got there and were told we had an hour in the location. We were then told the line would be 45min to an hour to see the stone, explained the cost “is a bit much for a stone that soldiers used to pee on,” and also that we had to eat lunch…all within that hour. So we didn’t get to see the stone because by the time we ate, we didn’t have time to go.
The scenery was still gorgeous and the hotel locations were top notch. I will always recommend this company but maybe this specific tour needs updating.

We had a fantastic tour with Dan around Kinsale, Blarney, & Kilkenny. The scenery was gorgeous, the coach was very comfortable, and Dan was incredibly knowledgeable and warm. We saw so much more than we would have seen on our own and Dan had great local knowledge and answers to all our questions!
