Out of the way roads and sights
Jul 2019
Great tour! My husband and I were placed with a group that consisted of all family members. I am sure the family did not expect two strangers on their vacation, nor did we expect to be the only strangers are someone else' family vacation. It worked out well, however. The family was amazing. They were probably the most inclusive group of people I have met. Do not worry that you will not be able to keep up with the activity level. There is always a way to sit an activity out. Prepare for rain. Have good storm pants etc. Spray boots with waterproofing even if you do not think you need to. My Keen waterproof hiking boots soaked through from the rain. I did not step in a puddle. Bring extra sneakers.

Exceptional Tour of Ireland's West Coast
Oct 2019 • Couples
Outstanding tour. Our guide Rhys knew just where to take us for breathtaking scenery, great hikes, and always a nice little pub where we could recharge. The hotels we stayed at were quite nice and we got along well with our small little group. In many cases the out of the way places were far more beautiful and serene than the more touristy locations (Cliffs of Mohr).
Overall a wonderful experience. Highly recommended.

Stunning scenery, fascinating history and incredible adventure
Sep 2019
Our trip to the beautiful southwest coast of Ireland was enhanced by our guide Patrick's great story telling about Irish history and people, folklore, and contemporary life - I learned so much. The activities were incredibly fun, varied and interesting - great hikes in beautiful places, visits to a sheep farm and aviary, horseback riding on the beach, a boat ride to the Skellig Islands (which we would have missed due to bad weather had Patrick not gotten us there a day early), and visits to carefully selected historical sites. A perfect mix of tourism, exercise/activity, great food, scenery, and the flexibility to join in the more active parts of the trip or have a rest. Pleasant, comfortable accommodations, great guidance on the best places for lunch and dinners, wonderful included breakfasts, flawless organization and pickup/dropoff. I could not recommend this trip more highly - I'm not usually a guided tour kind of person, but I would book another tour with Vagabond in a heartbeat.

Hi Robert S, we love it when we have won over non guided tour folks like yourself! We tend to think of ourselves as being a bit different and offering a honest view of Ireland. Good to hear the balance on this tour suited you. Thank you for the kind words about Patrick too. We look forward to seeing you again, Rob Rankin, Owner.

Best way to see Ireland
Sep 2019 • Couples
Everything you read in the reviews is true ! Small group = you move fast as your not waiting for 40 people to load up. Your days are flexible and loaded with fun. - want to stop and see a statue, a grave? No problem. Run into a group of cyclists- no problem, we got out and cheered them along. Off the beaten path = stunning views, epic hikes, no crowds, seeing everyday Ireland in small towns and meeting the lovely Irish people. Best guides = You learn about the life, the land, animals, flora and the history as you move along. Our guide Henry was the best ! I know I read that in these reviews a lot. But , Henry was the perfect guide for our family and I cannot thank him enough for making our trip A+ every single day. So thank you Vagabond and thank you Henry. Until we meet again.

Why are sheep in Ireland better!
Sep 2019 • Solo
When planning our trip to Ireland I wanted a small tour. The great reviews of Vagabond are all 100% accurate. I went with my sister and was not into bus rides. Wild Rover is full of hiking, playing ball on Inch Beach, and sooo much great food! Vagabond took what I wanted to do and did it! You will not be disappointed. I would suggest they start tour companies in other countries with our guide Kim leading the way!

Outstanding Adventure
Aug 2018 • Family
I actually stumbled upon the Vagabond Tour site while preparing our Ireland family vacation and boy I’m glad I did. From start to finish my contact with everyone from Vagabond was spot on. They helped me find hotels for the night before our trip and the night our trip ended and answered every question I had such as what to pack and how much to tip our guide, Damien, who was outstanding. Every minute of our trip was well planned and enjoyable. My only complaint was that the more adventurous aspects of our trip were kept to a minimum because a few people added to our group were “slow movers.” Nevertheless, I would recommend Vagabond Tours to anyone planning their first trip to Ireland or anyone who’s been before as the guides will take you to popular attractions as well as back road, “locals only” spots.

I'd recommened this trip for families (kids no younger than five), couples and friends. We went in August and we all packed layers with waterproof jackets and hiking shoes/boots.

Not only exceeded expectations, but knocked it into the stratosphere
Just finished an eight day Wild Irish Rovers Tour with Sian. I don’t know where to start. This trip made me fall in love with Ireland. Sian’s knowledge of history, nature and culture was communicated passionately and with humor. She took us on amazing hikes and we picnicked in unbelievable locations. We stayed in lovely guest houses and had fabulous recommendations of where to eat. We were able to hike, bike, kayak, surf, sail, and horseback ride. The other members of our group were lovely people and we will have a lifetime connection. I learned so much and am forever grateful for this experience. Thank you, Vagabond. You are amazing. And so is Sian. What an incredibly wonderful way to celebrate a milestone wedding anniversary.

Outstanding Experience
Jul 2019 • Family
We just returned from the 8 Day Vagabond Wild Irish Rover Tour with Kim. We had an amazing experience and visited sites that were unique and not normal tourist spots. The hikes and views were incredible. The accommodations were great as well. Our small group really bonded together. Looking forward to visiting North Ireland in the future on another Vagabond journey. Highly recommend this small tour company.

Book It Now!

If you're visiting Ireland, don't hesitate - BOOK ANY VAGABOND TOUR. It was a wonderful time seeing such a beautiful country with the most welcoming, happy people. Our guide was incredible -- fit, knowledgeable about his country and history.
He knew all the back roads and had a surprise activity for us everyday - some of which were so special and gave us insights into the soul of Ireland. Thank you Ronan and thank you Vagabond for delivering much more than promised!
