Day trip cancelled with no notification!
We had No contact from the tour group Hill Top Treks I called the night before leaving and they said that it was cancelled. Not enough people. They claimed they did not have my info to contact us but I’m sure they could have notified trip advisors! Almost ruined our trip. Fortunately we booked through Viator, Wild Rover group and had a great day! Do not book any trips through Hill Top Treks!!

      Wonderful experience!
We loved our tour of Powerscourt, Wicklow, Guinness Lake, and Glendalough! Linda was an awesome guide, very friendly and informative and the views were amazing! We also had ample time to explore each of the sites, which was fantastic. Highly recommend:)

This is a must see tour!
Newgrange, Knowth, and Monasterboice are must sees when coming to Ireland. The history and significance of these sights is amazing and gives you a whole new perspective of history and how ancient the history in Ireland really is. Matt was an excellent guide. He was informative , friendly and eager to answer questions and explain things in more depth. This tour and Matt are highly recommended.

      Great day!!
Our guide Gillian was very nice and lovely, was always on time and told us a lot of interesting facts. I‘ve seen the Powerscourt House & Garden (around 115min there), which are beautiful, I had a great time. After that we stopped in Enniskerry for lunch (45min) and headed into the Wicklow Mountains National Park with a great view and some stopps to take pictures. In the afternoon we were in Glendalough and had 90min to explore the area with the monastery and two lakes - I could have spent more time there but it was enough to see the second lake, too. Around 5:15pm we returned to the city. A great experience also for a solo traveller if you don‘t want to drive or rent a car by yourself.

      Only transportation. No info
Basic transportation. There is no tour leader. The drives says a couple of things while driving, not much indeed. You can hardly hear him. Then he left us at the door of the places on our own. New grange was great because they have their own guides

      A wonderful small group tour!
I had the most wonderful time on this small tour. I couldn't recommend it enough to anyone interested in taking it, especially solo travelers or duos. I'm embarrassed to admit I can't remember the name of the woman who took us on our adventure, but she was wonderful and so full of information. The trip felt personal and welcoming and I'd go again in a heartbeat.

Elite Trip, Class Guide, Great Views
Great trip. Views were great and stops were well spaced throughout the drive. Our guide, Linda, was very knowledgeable. She mentioned growing up in the area, and was able to recommend many trails and hikes that she loves if one were to return for a longer trip out to Wicklow.

Mary Gibbons explains history so well and really makes this excursion worth the time! Will return and do this again!
This was an amazing and interesting tour. Marry Gibbons was my guide and I can’t express how impressive her knowledge and passion for the information she provides. The bus was comfortable. All the sights were amazing. I really recommend this tour for anyone interested in Irish (North Irish, Scottish and English) history. Mary was able to explain soooo much and has a wonderful sense of humor. Mary also went out of her way to communicate individually. She made us all feel welcomed and (personally) grateful that she was our guide! 10/10…will do it again! (But only if Mary is once again my guide!)

      You gotta do this!
Kevin was an excellent guide (and a safe driver) who regaled us with his take on history, mythology, and Irish culture. Newgrange is an absolute must see. The experience was truly magical. The other stuff was okay too, but nothing compares to Newgrange.

      Perfect for walk around Glendalough
Excellent direct trip to Glendalough. Perfect for a long walk without the filler of the other longer tours. Tour guide was fantastic.

This tour was awesome. The amount of people on the tour was great. Just enough people where it doesn't feel congested. Johnny was a great tour guide. He kept us entertained, educated but didn't inundate you with historical facts and figures.

Most importantly, the horses were amazing, funny and fitting for all riders. All staff for the riding were friendly, funny and filled with equestrian expertise. The trails were majestic. I have added respect for horses and riders alike.

Each stop was filled with the right amount of time for pictures, food etc. Book the tour, it's worth it.

We had an amazing time on this tour! Our tour guide, Johnny, was the best! He had so many great historical facts and funny stories about the area as we drove to each site. We really enjoyed the horseback riding through the forest and every stop on the itinerary. The monastery was one of our favorite things we saw. We had decided to do this tour last minute on the final day of our Ireland trip, and it turned out to be one of our favorite days out of our whole vacation!

Had an awesome ride. The trail was interesting through woods and along a farm track, with a couple of decent canters. Beginners were catered for, so everyone had a decent ride. Lunch at ‘Poppies’ was delicious, with a good choice of home cooked meals. Matt (tour guide & driver) was brilliant, providing a history of Dublin and Ireland as a whole. Glendalough is scenic and the monastery ruins certainly make for great photos. The weather was not great but we still had a fabulous day. Thanks Matt!

First, our driver, St. Kevin, was excellent. The roads in Wicklow are narrow and winding and he navigated them perfectly. Also, his playlist on the bus was very good—a wide variety of genres.
The views and scenery were very different from the urban landscape of Dublin. Enniskerry is a delightful, quaint village where we had a few minutes to walk around and grab lunch.
The horseback riding was a lot of fun. We have done many vacation trail rides in the states and Canada, and this was among the best. Good horses and helpful guides.

Awesome for solo travelers. Cozy tour bus. Richard was our guide and he was brilliant, so friendly and very knowledgeable. Had jokes, too! I could tell he takes pride in his work, professional without being too serious. The horseback riding was fun. Would recommend bringing your own boots as the ones they provided were in less than great condition, most with holes in them. Also had to share riding helmets which makes sense for safety but was kinda gross as I thought about it. I’m not into sharing like that. The riding was beautiful, scenery great. The rest of the tour was awesome. I can’t say enough good things about it. I’ve already recommended it to a handful of people.

I was excited at the opportunity to do a trail ride and see some sights.
But throughout the day all the activities seemed a little ‘fly by the seat of your pants’.
The horse ride was great once it started but it ran late because there was a kids lesson finished when the trail ride was starting. Organisers were running around looking very disorganised and talking over each other. It took forever to organise my horse and I was left standing about while everyone else got mounted and when we started I had to listen to one guide yell at the other that they had to ‘make up 10 minutes’. Like it was the fault of those riding. Surely they knew who was coming and how many?
The sight seeing tour by bus was also rushed. Sites were great but the guide/driver kept pushing us to hurry or wait till the next stop to use a bathroom for instance but would the stand for 10-15 minutes at a time telling us about a movie we should watch of a conversation he had with his wife about an actor. And god forbid we ask him to stop to take a photo of a pretty scene.

Horseback riding in the mountains was amazing! And our guide Matt was very informative and quite funny. Matt was so kind and helpful to another tour guest that required extra attention and help and he was infinitely patient and kind. We had a great day.

It rained all day which made the ride a little chilly - but our guides at the barn were great!
Then Gillian, our van driver and tour guide, took us on the rest of the tour. She went above and beyond to keep us warm and comfortable the rest of the day - she dropped us off at the restaurant for lunch then ran home to get some dry jackets for everyone. She also drove us to the Upper Lake where we normally would have walked to, but we were all soaked and cold and it never stopped raining. Even with the not so ideal weather, it was a really fun, educational tour. Gillian is an outstanding tour guide - funny and so knowledgeable!

With only a few days in Ireland, we were looking for a day tour outside of Dublin that wouldn't have us sitting on the bus for hours. We love small villages, manor houses and beautiful gardens: a bit of easy adventure outside the usual city tourism! We got what we wanted with Matt!
He was our guide and did not disappoint: we toured the Wicklow Mountains, Glendalough and Powerscourt estate (we did not choose the horseriding option and toured the Powerscourt gardens instead - a good walk on its own!). We enjoyed his stories about the history of Ireland and indeed the world - certainly had us looking things up after the tour!! ;-)
    Definitely recommended!

The price tag may look a little off-putting for young/solo travelers, but the tour was well worth the price. The horseback riding was great for a complete beginners, the horses are well-trained and the guides were incredibly helpful and accommodating for the riders. The tour guide, Richard, was awesome and very knowledgeable. Better than anything were the sights as you're going through the Wicklow mountains and around Glendalough! I can't recommend enough!
